They did not sue Amtrak, and in fact couldn't (the state of Nevada tried to sue Amtrak over this, but lost due to sovereign immunity).Congress just chose due to the pressure to pass a law banning the practice.Biggest annoyance is now when the trains get stuck because of the Siemens shitboxes decides to discharge its entire load of lubricating oil and loses power for hours now you have no toilets on the train.
