kinda surprised no ones made a thread about this one yet.

https://www.cnn.com/us/live-news/plane-crash-dca-potomac-washington-dc-01-29-25

Dozens of people are feared dead after a passenger plane traveling from Kansas collided with a military helicopter near Reagan Airport in Arlington, Virginia, and plunged into the Potomac River.

DC Mayor Muriel Bowser confirmed early Thursday that “both aircraft are in the water,” and that 64 people were aboard the American Airlines plane and three were in the military helicopter.

President Donald Trump said early Thursday morning that the midair collision between a US Army helicopter and American Airlines passenger plane was a “bad situation that looks like it should have been prevented.”

heres the FAA statement on their website about the incident.

A PSA Airlines Bombardier CRJ700 regional jet collided in midair with a Sikorsky H-60 helicopter while on approach to Runway 33 at Reagan Washington National Airport around 9 p.m. local time. PSA was operating as Flight 5342 for American Airlines. It departed from Wichita, Kansas. The FAA and NTSB will investigate. The NTSB will lead the investigation.

sources say its 18 fatalities so far as of this post. any thoughts?

Based on a long video I've seen, the helicopter had all the time in the world to veer in any direction but somehow just went straight in the plane's direction.

Shouldn't of made much of a difference. Civillian flights file flight plans. The plane's intentions was made very clear. Before it left the floor. It's presence is to be expected.
Add into that "approach on runway" - something not entirely difficult for a pilot around an airport to be expected to be expecting - add into that helicopter pilots in particular are required to be mindful of their environment and add in transponder beacons and radar that *will* of made the helicopter very aware of the plane's presence. Assuming local ATC wasn't making them aware of the conflict of airspace, and the plane's intentions.

You add all that together, no amount of .gov sponsored suits examining safety issues at airlines and airports would have stopped this. Everything that should have, is already existant. At best, they could find out "why". And without any knowledge of the matter, I can almost conclusively produce 'pilot error' on the part of the helicopter's pilot. 'cause if he wasn't fucking up, he wouldn't be anywhere near another pilot's landing slot. It's not as if these things are atate secrets...

Functionally, investigations 'best' yielded by military, not civil aviation. If the plane had drifted into the helicopter's landing slot, maybe. But this can only be addressed by the defectiveness of training that produced a helicopter pilot unable to spot an incoming scheduled plane that's sqwuaking it's intent.

Good point, but I do want to see if that argument of his EO freezing any new Air Traffic Control hirings holds any water. I don't think it's anything in the vein of "Oh they couldn't hire anyone so there was no one doing ATC in the area!" because it's an incredibly busy airspace, but I do gotta wonder if this stretched them too thin.

The helicopter WAS apparently a training flight though, so pilot error does make a massive amount of sense. They literally didn't know what they were doing.
>>
Sean Duffy hasn't even spoken with the air traffic controllers yet. Trump sure knows how to pick the dumbest people.
>>
Helicopter pilots were trannies that got fired. They wanted to go out in a blaze of glory in the pentagon or Hegseth's house, but the plane got in their way.

Trump literally just fired TSA agents and an Aviation Safety Committee. this is quite literally his fault.

Someone take his fucking truth social account from him. We cannot have someone in this level of authority clearly playing armchair air traffic controller, especially when he can't even wait for a fucking briefing to explain the facts to him and instead just relies on whatever he heard on the news.

Like it's bad when this is literally someone who has ENTIRE BRANCHES OF GOVERNMENT dedicated to explaining every single fact of the case in-detail, and he still can't wait for a few fucking hours and get the full story before he starts sending out stupid posts based on the bare-minimum Fox or some shit had.
>>
>>1378884

This. Who the hell was letting trump direct air traffic control from his fucking truth social account? I heard a report that the air traffic control tower was short staffed during the incident. If this is the case, and if it happened because of Trump's firings, then he is directly responsible for this.
>>
>>1378934
What's wrong with this? The heli pilot fucked up. He told the tower he had visual separation.
>>
>>1379044
somehow this is bidens fault.
>>
>>1379050
ATC has always been short-staffed going back several years. It's not necessarily Trump, Biden's, Obama's, etc.'s fault. It's been a constant problem.
>>
>>1379073
Interesting, though this does make him FIRING ATC people even more stupid.

That being said it does look like this is the helicopter's fault. In the transcript they say they had visual clearance when they clearly fucking didn't.
>>
>>1379076
Trump fired ATC? I don't think ATC have been fired since Reagan.

what happened was ATC gave a proper traffic call. Helicopter said they saw the aircraft, but they probably saw the wrong aircraft. The ATC error was not extending the helicopter further downwind or other measure. Plane didn't do anything wrong.
>>
>>1379077
He at minimum froze any new hires. The white house SAYS they didn't fire any ATC guys, but with the buyout offer active (even to them) and him having already lied several times (including about this very fucking subject considering he immediately blamed ATC) I'd take that with a grain of salt.
>>
>>1379076
When did he fire ATC? And what the fuck does this have to do with pilot error? ATC isn't flying the fucking plane. The heli pilot asked for visual separation and told the ATC that he had the traffic in sight. He didn't.

The heli pilot fucked up. You motherfuckers making this political are fucking retarded. What next, are you going to make car crashes political too? I got into a fender-bender in 2013. Thanks Obama!
>>
>>1379083
>You motherfuckers making this political are fucking retarded. What next, are you going to make car crashes political too? I got into a fender-bender in 2013. Thanks Obama!
We're bringing this up because 1. Trump just eliminated a ton of FAA positions and froze hirings, and 2. He himself fucking blamed the ATC on live television and then signed an executive order looking into their hiring practices, despite the fact that it's pretty fucking obvious the fault was on the heli pilots. All the while complaining about Biden, Obama (no clue why), and DEI.
>>
>>1378835 (OP)
You know, the irony is Trump could've easily at least made Dems look like hypochondriacs if he just shut up. Like, yeah, the worst aerial disaster in over 20 years happening just a few days after a bunch of major FAA figures resigned or were removed definitely looks bad, but he could've just let the info that it was on the helicopter pilots come out and then things would've settled down.

But no. He had to fucking "get even" with them and blame it on Obama and Biden and DEI. And now he looks like a massive fuckwit who's first thought after 60 people dead was "how can I blame democrats for this" when he was supposed to be addressing the nation.
>>
>>1379086
>He himself fucking blamed the ATC on live television
Well then he's fucking retarded. As much as I like the guy, I have to call a spade a spade. Anyone listening to the audio could've figured out it wasn't the ATC's fault.
>>
>>1379092
It's so fucking fascinating how the man with the highest security clearance on the planet, who has several people around him whose entire jobs are to tell him EVERYTHING going on with a current event in the US, seems to rely entirely on news stations to know anything.
>>
>>1379095
Okay to be fair though...... people in his cabinet have lied and gone against him in the past. Specifically General Milley (who also backstabbed Biden as well).

That said, still dumb of him to say anything without an investigation.
>>
>>1379096
He just got this new cabinet though. Does he really trust the guys he just appointed that little?

But yeah it's absolutely retarded to just say this with no investigation. The worst part is he actually did the first half of the press statement just fine, but then he had to start blaming someone immediately instead of waiting to see what really happened. And worst, he fuckin DOUBLED DOWN by ordering an EO to look into the FAA hiring practices right after, effectively putting all the blame on them despite the fact audio shows the ATC did his job correctly.
>>
>>1378849
Or maybe, government shouldn't be involved in regulating air safety. Fucking hell. Everything is falling apart because we've let the government stick its toe into everything. The only things the government should be doing is enforcing laws and cleaning degeneracy, enforcing morality and christian values, and using the military to crush opposition. What Trump is doing is burning everything down so we can start anew without the cancer of free gibes like SS or medicare.
>>
>>1379097
What do you want me to say? Anyone making this political is a fucking retard and Trump is not immune. The people saying Trump's freezes caused this are morons and the people saying this was a DEI hire are morons. This crash was as apolitical as it could possibly get. Unless we elected a president that was going to ban airplanes (not fucking likely), there's no policy that they could've put in place that would've stopped a pilot making a mistake thinking he had traffic in sight when he didn't.
>>
>>1379098
>Or maybe, government shouldn't be involved in regulating air safety.
What kind of absolute anarchist retard logic is this?
>Yeah I really want planes crashing into each other more. The only law in the sky is who can survive the resulting fireball and collision with the ground.
>>
>>1379099
You do gotta admit dissolving a bunch of FAA positions and freezing ATC hiring right before the worst air accident in 20 years looks pretty bad, even if it did ultimately have nothing to do with the accident itself.
>>
>>1379101
It was DEI.
>>
>>1379102
Why weren't we seeing these sorts of incidents happen all the time throughout Biden/Obama's reign then?
>>
>>1379103
Airplanes were literally falling apart in the sky, and it started during Biden's term. Where were you, anon?
>>
>>1379103
It was happening throughout the regime. Now that Trump is in control, all the failures will be "deported." There will be no mercy. Live or fail. He will craft our rotting nation into a sublime engine of warfare the likes have never been seen.
>>
>>1379100
It's logic, something that is antithetical to your libtard mind. Safety inspections will be done by private industries. After all, nobody wants a plane crash. Those companies which do crash will quickly go out of business. Furthermore, nobody has told me why if some plebs die, that it's a big deal? They aren't contributing all that much to the economy.
>>
>>1379101
It looks bad to people who don't know shit about flying, but shortages and overloading ATC has been a problem as far back as 2012, where FAA was supposed to come up with a long-term plan to fix this, but by 2023 hadn't made much progress due to the COVID restrictions, fear of a government shutdown, and struggles with recruitment and training policies. The whole management process needs to be restructured and that's going to take several years, longer than any presidential term, and is going to be painful maintaining flights in the air while this happens (which is why it's not getting done).

Not that any of this is relevant to this crash because it wasn't ATC that fucked up. My guess is the military is going to put restrictions on what pilots can do during limited visibility in high traffic areas (there's already been a few close calls before this, recently some F/A-18s almost had a collision in Houston a while ago).
>>
>>1379104
This was from a lack of inspection/regulation on Boeing aircraft, which was definitely Biden's fault. Midair collisions are more of an ATC/pilot issue, which could be Trump's fault, as he kicked out a bunch of FAA and ASA employees recently.
>>
>>1379110
> which could be Trump's fault,
It wasn't leftist.
>as he kicked out a bunch of FAA and ASA employees recently.
Fuckers are a bunch of bums. Fuck them. If you let the private sector handle this, I guarantee you wouldn't be seeing half the problems with planes dropping out of the sky or crashing.

By hiring cheap, unqualified labor based on their minority status. Which is what DEI is.
Once our society started determining the quality of airplanes based on the shade of a woah-man's not-vagina, instead of whether or not they could adequately fasten screws to a sheet of metal, our country was fucked.

If you was talkin' a shitty lil cessna, with visual instruments, mebbe. We're talking military radar listing transponder beacons. ATC list heading and tail number, both of which are on a screen he and or his co-pilot should be monitoring. If he's got the wrong aircraft that's a serious error.

> The ATC error was not extending the helicopter further downwind
As a rule, civillian ATC doesn't direct military traffic. Military gets away with a lot more. Stupid shit, like loitering in a landing slot on a busy airport for example. They're supposed to 'co-operate' to 'ensure safety'.

>ATC: You're in the way of a plane commin' in to land

Try that as a civillian pilot, watch what happens.

Don't worry, thanks to extensions too the h1b programme, they'll soon be cheap, underqualified labour comprised almost entirely of 'minorities'. Uh oh, sisters, I'm going to have to get back on the discord, this isn't good:

Scrutiny over the FAA's hiring policies was raised years before Wednesday's accident near Reagan National Airport.

A major class-action lawsuit has been filed against the federal agency over claims that applications for air traffic controllers were rejected based on race.

The original lawsuit was filed on behalf of Andrew Brigida, who claimed the FAA under the Obama administration dropped a skill-based system for hiring air traffic controllers (ATCs) and replaced it with a "biographical assessment," which was allegedly used to attract more minority applicants.

Brigida, who is white and scored 100 percent on his training exam, said he was discriminated against because of his race when his application was rejected.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2025/01/30/faa-dei-trump-fact-checker/

Moreover, the FAA under Trump in 2019 launched a program to hire controllers using the very criteria he decried at his news conference.

“FAA Provides Aviation Careers to People with Disabilities,” the agency announced on April 11, 2019. The pilot program, the announcement said, would “identify specific opportunities for people with targeted disabilities, empower them and facilitate their entry into a more diverse and inclusive workforce.”

https://www.faa.gov/newsroom/faa-provides-aviation-careers-people-disabilities

The link under “targeted disabilities” is now dead, but the Wayback Machine retains links from June 2017 and January 2021 that show the page was unchanged during Trump’s tenure. The list included:

Hearing (total deafness in both ears)
Vision (Blind)

Complete Paralysis, Epilepsy
Severe intellectual disability
Psychiatric disability
Dwarfism
>>

To fly as a commercial pilot (someone who flies aircraft for compensation) you need thousands of hours of flight experience.
>>
>>1379294
250 is the minimum to be certified for commercial (though to actually fly one you need around 1,500 hours). For the army, 150 to become a proper helicopter pilot.

>"A checkride, as opposed to a normal training flight, creates some unique dynamics in the cockpit. In a checkride, the less experienced pilot can be nervous and eager to not make mistakes, while the instructor pilot is watching to see how the other pilot responds to different developments," Bowman explained. "Sometimes an instructor pilot will test the less experienced aviator to see how they respond, but such a technique would have been unusual and inadvisable in that location given the reduced margin for error."

Looks more like the main pilot decided it would be hilarious to see if the person they were testing could dodge an airplane.

From a societal PoV, they don't. Empathy and altruism has been the root of modern society's downfall. You're responsible only for yourself. Don't expect handouts. Don't expect others to care. Only your own self-interest and capabilities is what keeps you alive. If you fuck it up, you die, and it's your fault. This is how societies naturally clear the table of the weak and evolve. Posted it in another thread, but democracy is the shittiest form of government. King Trump would make America the greatest nation on Earth. Here's my man, Nick Land, talking about the cult of democracy:

>The world’s regnant Universalist democratic-egalitarian faith is a particular or peculiar cult that has broken out, along identifiable historical and geographical pathways, with an epidemic virulence that is disguised as progressive global enlightenment. The route that it has taken, through England and New England, Reformation and Revolution, is recorded by an accumulation of traits that provide abundant material for irony, and for lower varieties of comedy. The unmasking of the modern ‘liberal’ intellectual or ‘open-minded’ media ‘truth-teller’ as a pale, fervent, narrowly doctrinaire puritan, recognizably descended from the species of witch-burning zealots, is reliably — and irresistibly — entertaining.
>>

>>
>>1379380
That's why you need a center right king like Trump or Franco or Hitler. You need a strong man willing to do what needs to be done and doesn't give a shit for the whining of the plebs. The idiots who make up the vast majority of our population should be treated as fuel for the economy and military, nothing more. Leftwing kings fucking suck because they try to appease the parasites rather than slapping them down, draining the coffers of the government and propping up the weak who'd otherwise be fertilizing the great garden of our economy with their deaths. We lucked out, however. It looks like Trump is set up to finally put an end to this democratic delusion. Never before has there been more support for dissolving congress into the executive. Not for a hundred years have we had a president who is committed to territorial expansion.

As Mencius states on libtard delusion:

>[I]n many ways nonsense is a more effective organizing tool than the truth. Anyone can believe in the truth. To believe in nonsense is an unforgeable demonstration of loyalty. It serves as a political uniform. And if you have a uniform, you have an army.

As for the vax, we'll have every single one of those poison injections banned in a few months. There is no safe or effective vaccine, period. Medicine will also need to be looked at. Amoxicillin has run roughshod on our population for hundreds of years. All these modern so-called medicines have done nothing but make a few leftists rich while making the rest of us sick and complacent.

Democracy is only acceptable because there are a lack of great leaders, but Trump is the best leader in a thousand years.

>>
>>1379430
>we literally export soybeans to China.
Illiterate nigger. Let me explain it slow so you can understand.
Farmers till soil in january, select seeds to grow in february, sow in march-april, harvest later in year. What is grown in one year is stored until it can be sold.
Tariffs were enacted in January 2018.
Do you think that farmers will purchase seed, R-P-K and till the land, knowing they cannot sell it? That they would waste all that labor and money for something that they cannot profit from?
No, subhuman. They do not.
Bulk of soybean exports come from big corpo farms. Not from small farms that you opine about. Tens of thousands of acres, versus small farms worth dozens of acres. Loss of money that year was from loss of contracts, and only for big corpos who were literally sitting on thousands of tons of soybeans.
Also, feds pay us federal money to NOT harvest a lot of crop so the prices of crops like corn and soybeans and sunflower seeds don't plummet and crash, but that is only because we compete with slave labor. Price floors set by government ensure we get paid no matter what happens.
Niggers tongue my anus.

Btw she only logged 400 hours. She is 600 hours under anyone else in her paygrade. She was promoted because she was a biden aide. So Nepotism is the more likely answer to why she was promoted. She had good grades in military school being top 20%.
But no one in her position has that few of hours flying a helicopter.
But her being a woman is something desired for dei employers so we can't dismiss that fact.
