https://www.politico.com/news/2026/01/07/rubio-urges-trump-to-leave-unfccc-00487331

President Donald Trump is withdrawing the United States from the world’s overarching treaty on climate change in a move that escalates his attempts to reverse years of global negotiations toward addressing rising temperatures.

The announcement to sever ties with the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change came as Trump quit dozens of international organizations that the White House says no longer serve U.S. interests by promoting radical climate policies and other issues. It was outlined in a memo by the White House. Trump has called on other countries to abandon their carbon-cutting measures, and the move appears to be his latest attempt to destabilize global climate cooperation.

The 1992 UNFCCC serves as the international structure for efforts by 198 countries to slow the rate of rising climate pollution. It has universal participation. The U.S. was the first industrialized nation to join the treaty following its ratification under former President George H.W. Bush- and it will be the only nation ever to leave it. The move also marks Trump’s intensifying efforts to topple climate efforts compared to his first term, when he decided against quitting the treaty.

"Many of these bodies promote radical climate policies, global governance, and ideological programs that conflict with U.S. sovereignty and economic strength," stated a White House fact sheet.

If Trump put a fraction of the effort he puts into petty bullshit like this into actually helping the American people we'd all be millionaires now
>>

Sounds like another Project 2025 agenda item they can scratch off the list.
>>
The Paris Agreement that he already pulled out of twice is the actual binding partner treaty to this, right? Nobody actually left this one before because it's purely a "look at me, I'm a shithead" performative gesture to do so.
>>
>>1473143
Global warming is a hoax for midwits. Midwits will reply to this post.

Good.
>>
>>1473415
No it isn't.
>>
>>1473420
Yes it is.
>>
>>1473143
>The treaty was ratified by George H.W. Bush
Really shows the decline of the Republican party. Bush 1 was a dickhead at times but he knew a threat when he saw one.
>>
>>1473423
For whom? Who benefits from this and why?
>>
>>1473494
Us. Because.
>>
>>1473495
>because... we just will okay!
This shit is why republicans are going to lose every election for the next 20 years.
>>
>>1473564
you've been saying this every year for the past decade and republicans currently hold a supermajority
>>
>>1473494
Me when I'm no longer paying Biden-tier gas prices.
>>
>>1473646
The treaty has nothing to do with gas prices, but good job not reading the article, dipshit.
>>
>>1473489
George H.W. Bush was a far left democrat compared to how far right the GOP has become since then.
>>
>>1473651
Not requiring bullshit emission standards that increases the cost does in fact have something to do with it dickhead. It's one of many terrible decisions Biden made that gave us >$5 per gallon during his term.
>>
>>1473654
I know you live in India and don't already know this but catalytic converters were mandated from the 70s onward.

>global warming effort
>so why isn't Tesla - that which made Musk the world's richest man - using internal combustion engines in their vehicles?
>so many MAGAts buying Cybertrucks to 'own the libs'
I'm reminded of an election campaign poster slogan:
https://i.postimg.cc/ZKpCR7PT/trump-tesla.jpg
'Would you buy a used car from this man'?
>>
>>1473660
>durrr ur esl
Tell me more about how the Paris Agreement wasn't a costly and ineffective waste of taxpayers money, doing jack shit for the climate while nations like China and India did whatever they want.
>>
>>1473654
I genuinely hope one of the uses of AI in the coming years will be to build a massive database of who said said and did what in these times when the threat of climate collapse is clear to anyone who looks at and takes it seriously. So that when things are truly bad, we can go and check and see if you were someone not taking it seriously and declaring it a hoax. When things do get bad, you deserve to be held up as a willfully ignorant asshole and dealt with accordingly.

>India is investing heavily in wind turbines, solar arrays etc
>China leads in wind turbine & solar array-based sustainable energy. And a certain company in Shanghai is so rich, they're investing in research into fusion reactors. their wealth coming from gacha games
You could protest against wind turbines, but I doubt Scotland's courts would give a fuck about one little jeet. They certainly told Trump - who whined about such three times - to go fuck himself three times
Trumpy's so spiteful, this is probably why he's having a Three Mile Island-esque meltdown about this, because there's less than fuck all he can do about green energy generation near his golf course in another country.

>We're going to die!
>said in the 80s... and the 90s... and the 00s.... and 10s.... and now
Okay Bill Maher. So when are we going to have the apocalypse? You keep crying how it's going to happen any day now and it never does.

You're no different than those extreme Christian nut-jobs holding up signs to repent for the kingdom of heaven is coming or some shit.
>>
>>1473673
NTA but it's been happening for the last 25 years. Maybe your house will burn up in the next wildfire or be washed out in the next 1000 year flood or get wrecked by the next EF-5 tornado.
>>
>>1473672
>>China leads in wind turbine & solar array-based sustainable energy.
Wow that's great. How much of the world's carbon footprint is Chinese emissions? Over 1/3rd?
>>
>>1473676
lmao
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVQxp9ekPe0
>>
>>1473675
>Maybe your house will burn up in the next wildfire
Seeing as I don't live in California, I doubt it. But hey, nice to know their global warming measures and taxes are being super-effective.
>>
>>1473673
>please ignore the steadily declining climate
See the problem with climate change deniers is they don't understand that the reason why things haven't gotten bad is BECAUSE we've been doing anti-pollution and global warming procedures that did shit like fix the hole in the ozone layer. And that stopping them overnight likewise won't fuck things over overnight, just slowly add to the pile until things are fucked and we can't unfuck them anymore.
>>
>>1473677
lmao doesn't refute shit. How much of the world's emissions are Chinese?
>>
>>1473678
That's great but the wildfires are in places like New Jersey and Canada now.
>>
>>1473679
>just two more weeks
Y'know I realized just now that I let you move the goal post from "it doesn't affect gas prices" to "If we don't do this we're all going to die!"
>>
>>1473681
Great. Two more shitholes I don't live in. Let me know when you make a point.
>>
>>1473681
the majority of wildfires are human-caused
>>
>Over 1/3rd?
>which is why China is leading in green energy generation
>why the most popular electric bike conversion kits are by Bafang & Yose Power
>if China isn't leading in climate change measures, why does Musk's Tesla have their motors & batteries made in China? If electric vehicles are a bad thing, why aren't Teslas made with internal combustion engines?
Wow, that's great. How many of your opinions are wrong, 1473676?
>>
>How much of the world's emissions are Chinese?
Less than 1473680 blowing gas out of his ass
>>
I'm too lazy to wash really dirty cans out so instead of recycling them, I throw them in the garbage
>>
>>1473684
Tell me what shithole you do live in so I can tell you how global warming is going to wreck your ass.
>>1473685
But the natural wildfires are increasing because of climate change.
>>
>>1473698
>tell me where you live
Nah I'd rather move the goalpost back to where we started with how this affects gas prices.
>>
>>1473695
That's okay Minnesota soccer mom, as the energy required to use the hot water to wash the cans out is a net loss compared to what it would cost to make a new can
>>
>>1473701
Recognizing CO2 as a greenhouse gas doesn't do jack shit for gas prices.
>>
>>1473713
And we need to be with the Paris agreement to do this?
>>
>>1473673
I know you're probably young, but I am in my 50's and can see how different things are now from how they were when I was young. But like I say, I don't have the energy to try and convince some idiot child who refuses to look at the evidence. Speak your mind publicly so there is a record.
>>
>Global Alarmism
>We'll all be underwater by 2014
>>
>there are those in midwest states alarmed by meteorological shit becoming worse
Because MAGAts are buying Cybertrucks & Teslas - thus making Musk the richest man in the world - just to 'own the libs', amirite?
>>
A lot has changed since 1992, and banning a toxic process in the US or Europe doesn't do much when they just moved that process to China or India where they just dump the toxic waste directly into their local rivers.
>>
>>1473760
No one has done more to reduce CO2 than China.

Most of China's industry was built after 1992. China was not much of a polluter in 1992 because they were barely industrialized.

Why was Kevin Nash in China?

Fucking 25 degrees outside and this asshole is bitching about global warming like we're all going to die tomorrow if we don't stop using oil. Suck a fat cock.

Suckers who be-lie-ve contraritards that are climate change deniers get what's coming to them in tornadoes, hurricanes, floods etc. Let those assholes die.
They die, America improves. They already suck dicks in flyover states.
