Im a 28 yo Ausfag and this is how i spent my $900,000 dollarydoo salary in the past 12 months.

How do you like the GRC vs the VA STI? I keep hearing the GR has better steering feel, the engine is livelier, and it handles better/more willing to rotate. I imagine it's a AU spec STi with the 300hp EJ257 Americans get too

Which is more fun and has better steering feel? 86 or Corolla?
>>
>>27585477
Where's your V6 Challenger then, cunt?

>>27585487
VA STI vs GRC is a tough one, i still cant pinpoint which is better, they are both excellent and are super glued to the road, i find steering feel and feedback of VA STI hydraulic system to be superior to both 86 and GRC, electronic just doesnt compare, both electronic systems are the best out there though, in terms of coming close to Hydraulic feel.

VA STI i love how raw it is, its a pain to daily, GRC comes close if not on par to the STI in handling, its superior to daily by far, GR86 is the most fun to drive i feel without any of the safety shit vs the GRC, GR86/BRZ is going to be the car /o/ will talk about once its gone
>>
>>27585493
We have both, we're also getting second gen GR Yaris later this year also
>>
>>27585511
Since you had the choice, what made you go for Corolla instead of Yaris?
>>
>>27585529
I wanted the 5 doors so i could write it off against my taxes, whilst the write off existed for that fiscal year, plus all the people selling the GR Yaris Rallye editions used were glue sniffers, asking way too much, dealer offered me a new one or a GR Corolla which fell through, so i took the GRC, ordered a second gen GR Yaris also when i learnt, might get that as my true daily in automatic, i still daily my first car not pictured in the frame, 99' Subaru Liberty, so will give it a break with that

Not really, i prefer stock drivetrain, i have a catback on it, front lip, side skirts (yet to install) and a big brake kit on it, will probably do coilovers, have a pair of Enkei RS05RR 18x8.5 wheels, but the second gen is a pain to match tyres and wheels for with a BBK on it, will probably put coilovers on, and a pair of 255/35 tyres on and call it a day, when out of warranty, will put a throttle controller on it, i feel thats a must do mod for the second gen

>>
>>27585477
Why did they drop the wings on the hatchback? I thought they looked bretty gud
>>
>>27585649
Im not loyal to any particular brand, i tried the Honda Type R, not what i expected, zero steering feedback, cant turn off auto-rev match and electronic handbrake, soulless feel to the drive, Zupra in manual i drove a few months back, was fun, Germans sure do make nice gearboxes, lack of a physical handbrake was a deal breaker for me, GR86 has more life and feel to it at lower speeds, i dont really csre about how fast a car is, so opted to not get it, if i lived in Europe, or somewhere with high posted speed limits, Zupra would be a no brainer
>>
>>27585666
Devilish trips, also, i think that might be USDM you're talking about? We only have one trim, the GTS, we had Morizo editions, they had the Carbon roof and spoiler, i think USDM gets Circuit edition that has it, JDM gets something similar

idk man 185,000 miles right now and the most expensive thing I've had to do was maybe the driveshaft center bearing and that's just because I bought a $1200 one piece aluminum ds instead of the $250 aftermarket brace. Just changed the tranny fluid and filter last week and it was in good shape too. Timing chain guides have a service life of about 500,000 miles.

mercedes and bmw are known to be low build quality compared to toyota and japanese
they are even affordable new but it's known that most money goes on maintenance for those cars cuz they constantly break apart for being too complex and low build quality/materials

Toyota is the king of reliable because they are built simple and strong

>>
>>27586141
Germany makes gorgeous looking cars that sound good and feel good. But they're pretty poorly made anon. They cost a fortune to maintain and are usually a pain in the ass to work on. VW is an incredible example of this.
>>

>owns STI
>buys POS 3cyl corolla
Why?
>>
>>27586152
And the modern design philosophy of the Germans is to appeal to the Chinese market and their respective diaspora in other markets, the giant grills, ugly, i looked at a VW Arteon the other day, saw it in a shopping centre, $54,000 dollary doos for it, liked it, but couldnt justify buying a scummy VW criminal brand car and deal with their anti-consumer and unreliable reputation, so i told the salesman off about that and walked

Germans are well past their hayday, i feel JDM has made a comeback with Toyota under Akio, for how long, who knows, but for now, im voting with my wallet, and will buy every GR car in their lineup at some point to indicate that

>>
>>27586186
Same tyres on my VA STI, look, i get it, its hard to confront, as a Subaru fanboy, when someone challenges the STI, but the GRC seriously gives it a run for its money, its better in many ways, and worse in some, but it all comes to how we process this new information, right? Out of the box, the GRC is better in so many ways over the STIs
>>
It's nice knowing we live rent free in op's head.
>>
>>27586196
I just can't fathom why you'd want a car so similar to your STI, sure they have slight differences but they're close enough to being the same car.
>>
>>27586206
Because, i want to protect my STI, i dont want the attention from cops, i dont want the attention when im speeding, and i dont want some retard woman or Pajeet Uber driver to rear end and write off a car that isnt produced anymore, thats what it boils down to, and the GRC is a superior daily to the STI in everyway, GRC has the best MT ive ever driven, hands down

You're just as likely to have some retard crash into you or cop pulling you over in your corolla. Your STI is nice sure but it's an sti that was sold for 7 years there's no shortage of them. If it were a GC/GD I'd understand.
>900k
>Ausfag
You had so many options
>>
>>27586234
What there isnt a shortage of, is stock clean STIs, what STI doesnt have is time, because in time, Abdul will put more boost through the engine, old mate Gaza will put a giant 30 inch subwoofer and E85 tune and wrap it around a pole, the list goes on

My STI is a clean stock example besides the catback, and i intend on keeping it that way, its the car i dreamed of owning, and its a reminder of meeting that goal

I always have more options, and plan on buying more cars anyway, for now, im voting with my wallet

From my experience STis being more fragile tend to stay stock or close to it (at best a intake/exhaust and Cobb tune). If it was a Evo I would have agreed. At least in America it's easy to find stock STis even GDBs.

>>27586181
They're both MacStrut, but you're comparing a 2022 to a 2003 car. PSS9s and PS4s aren't gonna give the GD better steering feel, stiffer unibody, or better rear suspension geometry when they weigh the same. Just comparing laptimes the S209 was slower than a Morizo GR, and the S209 had a lot more work done by STI. I think I have more faith in the 3 cyl from staying together than any EJ257.

Just be honest and say you like how it feels and looks. Be happy stuff like the GRC exists because if your car dies it's replaceable with something remotely similar 5-10 years from now.

high powered cars arent unbalanced and/or lack grip, there is a reason why M, AMG and S live on for so long, their owners arent plebians who are yet to be enlightened by the superior characteristics of slow shitboxes, they are just better cars than what you currently own, its not some great conspiracy by BIG LUXURY

/o/ culture has been dead for a while. The only thing left in this fucking board is sour grapes, children, and /pol/niggers who just constantly spam memes and shitposts trying to get (you)'s at this point. Seriously, think about it, when was the last time there was a legitimately good thread on this board? It is clear no one left here is even interested with cars on a hobbyist level.
No motorsports threads, no build threads, even the generals are just full of retards. The show your ride threads are filled with the most NPC-traffic, poorfag cars ever, seriously makes me wonder if the average poster here even legitimately owns a car, much less an interesting car that would signal they are interested in cars on a hobbyist level.

link a current ride thread from the archives of any other time in history when this was not the case.

My big problem is /pol/ and /v/ niggers acting so binary like their taste is the only one that's right and anyone can go to hell. I'm a "weeb" who loves corvettes and 5.0 mustangs and n/a bmws. I like all cars and even now I'm defending stuff like brzs because your average YouTube educated crossboarder thinks you need at least 600whp to merge on the highway

Mostly because there’s nothing new to talk about. The c8 and the Tesla were the only cool releases this decade.
All of the actual enthusiasts who frequent this board have driven shifter karts by now, and we realize just how lame cars actually are.

I'm suspecting you're one of those "if your car isn't at least a Corvette or a Viper don't bother posting" anons.
I hate seeing legit SUV as much as you do, but mocking anons for posting 3 series or BRZs is retarded.

The longer I own my GR86 the more hidden Subaru badging I find on it.
Crawled under it for the first time a few months back to see that SUBARU was printed on the driveshaft.

There's no point in caring really, besides, Toyota owns 20% of Subaru anyways.

I assume what he means is this is what he spent $900k on. That being the house, and 3 cars. Which is about right these days.
