>he thinks you need to let your car warm up
>>27589691Listen, pal, I'm just trying to let the cab warm up so my tootsies ain't cold.
>>27589691I'm simply waiting for the bluetooth to pick up my phone so i can have my music playing for the entire drive.
I will fucking hold my breath to avoid fogging my windshield
>>27589691>car designed to run at a specific temperature>bottom level IQ genetic sludge screams and rages that people wait until the car is close to this temperature to gun it down the road
depends on whether you own or lease
warming my box up with a cabin and block heater right now
>>27589895What fucking difference would that make? t. Just returned my lease (with equity) and got a new car (own)
I can wait twenty seconds, I aint gonna gun it cold
>>27589691That cat looks like a grungy wigger
>>27589691>drive 60 year old classic car daily>it has a carburetor>he doesn't know the oil needs 5 minutes to get up to temperature gee i dunno, retardseems like only one of us doesn't think
>>27590357>drive an "im so special" ancient machine>well ACTUALLY OP, I actually DO need to warm up my car!obviously you aren't being addressed here. This is about my indian neighbor who runs his 2018 ford escape for 5 minutes before leaving for work
>>27590386Maybe you should follow his example - Indians are the most successful ethnic group in America. I can't believe you're making me shill for Indians.
>>27590387???? LOL sirs
>>27589691It's more like waiting for the engine oil to distribute throughout the engine. Depending on the oil's cold viscosity rating, it can take like 10-20 seconds for that to happen.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcEDc9HraIUThen you want to wait for the engine oil to warm up to hit its rated viscosity before redlining it so it can lubricate the engine at the intended temperature.
>>27590639Should you ever really redline in the first place? If it's your daily grocery getter, then the answer is definitely no.
>>27590639I’m more worried about my n55’s turbo. I’ll let the car warm up for a minute or two and OP can’t stop me.
>>27589859Five years later>man these pieces of shit are so unreliable!
>>27590784I redline and hoon the fuck out of my daily driver and grocery getting hatchback every single day. 20+ years till going strong and pulling on modern german """sports""" cars.
>>27590784If your car is at operating temperature and isn’t a piece of shit, it can handle being redlined all day. I don’t understand where this idea that redlining is bad for your car comes from. The limiter is there for a reason.
>>27590947>pulling on modern german """sports""" carsyou daily a decades old 10 second hatchback?
>>27591088Lmao no it's a 16 second car and does 0-60 in 7.5 seconds people just drive like absolute pussies around here. I got a new GTI to rev at me loud enough to hear it spool a turbo like, once and the commuter tier bmws and benz don't even want to play that game.
>>27591099lmao
>>27590357>drive a shitbox>complain when other people have better carsNice cope
I live in Florida so outside of the month of January it takes about 30 seconds to be close to operating temp.
No i dont, I keep my garage at 200° so that sucker's always ready to go
>>27589691I let my car idle for at least 30 seconds after every drive too :)
>>27590784The stock redline should be set at a point that won't compromise the longevity of the engine.
>>27591327This. The red line is my target.
>>27589700Based. If you only knew how cozy things really are.
>>27589691My car doesnt even move unless my coolant and oil temps arent over 100°.
>>27590639This. Let the parts get nice and oily.
The space shuttle blew up because it was too cold and a gasket contracted slightly in the cold.
>>27589691Cat's smarter than it's owner - that's a bad sign.
>>27589700/thread
>>27589859you know car is designed to warm up WHILE DRIVING,you dont need to wait for longer than 1-2 minute
>>27593605This. Whole thread reeks of midwits. Start your car, let it idle about 10 seconds, put it in reverse or drive and maybe let it idle to get out of your driveway, then drive gently until it's up to temperature. This is the best thing for your engine. It also warms it up the fastest.
>>27593640You let it idle until your RPMs drop down. The only time you need to wait longer is if it's a really cold start on a winter day. Otherwise, you're fine. Just don't go above 3g RPMs when it's not up to operating temps. Simple as.
I dont warm up the car for the car's sake, I do it because I dont want to drive in a -20C icebox. Driving with gloves on is annoying, and driving with cold fingers is even worse
>Thinking the oil will reach proper temps or spread around from just idling... Sucks to have to share a board with those nubwits
>>27589691Just a little to be comfortable
>>27593640>>27593605just wait until the valvetrain stops screaming in oil starvation, slam it into gear and go.
>>27589691yes goyim destroy your engine so you have to buy a new car!
>>27593648>or spread around from just idlingit's called an oil pump retard. if oil didn't flow enough to reach through out the engine cold it would blow up.
>those retarded car manufacturers don't know shit about their cars!>here on /o/ we definitely know how to drive
>>27590947>>27591099>gapped by e46's and assmad about it
