As someone who buys and sells cars, Fiats are usually junk by 80k miles or so, and even if you have a "good" one the value plummets just from the fact there are so many bad ones. I do like the look and how they drive, but honestly I would avoid them unless you get a great deal on one.

Why wouldn't you just get a Prius? It's got amazing mpg, amazing storage space, amazing reliability / low maintenance cost, and amazing price (used 2008-2009 is best). It's just the best car.
