There were some anons in the US talking about the Shad SH58x. I found it on Motostorm(Italy) with backrest included. If you buy it in EUR its €267,63. With shipping it came out to $273.75 USD for me. Says FedEx so it should be here in a week or two. I'll report when it gets here.

Lane splitting/filtering is dangerous and too many motorcycles turn traffic into a chaotic third world mess

Nice. I was one of those anons, someone posted it and I commented how slick it looked/performed and how much cheaper it is than what I paid for my 58L givi box ($550 USD not including the adapter plate).
Hope you get it soon. What bike you finna mount it too?

Tracer 9GT. I wanted something sleek that didn't look too out of place on the bike. I almost went with the 58L Givi, it looks really sharp on the Tracer but massive. I also felt the shad matched the OE panniers better and I liked how compact it looked collapsed.

Really no reason to get the givi, especially when you consider the price. The only advantage is it's flat and has tie down points so you can strap something like a beach chair (which is all I've ever used it for).

I have been debating with a friend, did Kawasaki really outsource their production outside of Japan except for their top models? Is there an article talking about this?

Not much info regarding the ZX-6R and where it's produced. The debate is about whetver Kawasaki still produces all of their bikes in Japan or only top models like ZX-10RR or H2.
>>
>>27752952
Look bro, its not like these companies can hide this shit. There are things called tariffs.
>>
>>27752952
>Kawasaki still produces all of their bikes in Japan
There's no debate here. They've been producing in Thailand for a long while.
I had a 2017 Ninja 650 and it was produced in Thailand.
As for the ZX-6R, I don't know, but if I had to guess I'd say they make them in Japan.

Kinda unrelated but interestingly enough the new CB750 Hornets are made in Japan while the more expensive CB650R and CBR650R are made in Thailand.

Honda also has GB350 made in Japan which is strange.

When I was researching deerskin gloves this was listed on Aerostich's page for their deerskin gloves.
I also had a similar thing happen with my current goat-leather gloves that got waterlogged after getting caught in the rain, I wore them the next day to work while they were still a little wet and the dried on the ride over. Since then they've been a little tighter and a little nicer so I figured it would be the same thing

twinks generate less heat, especially v-twinks
also plastic on sportbikes is designed not only to improve aerodynamics but also to direct hot air away. And where can this hot air go from there? Only onto your legs and balls
>>
>>27753376
Why build a motorcycle in fucking France?
>>
>>27753676
Really depends on the bike but I find that more powerful bikes tend to run hotter even if you are not using all the power.
But again, it really depends. I had a Monster 797 which was a bit of a pain in traffic but was pretty manageable but some liquid cooled bikes are disgusting once the fan quicks on and it starts blowing on your legs. The air-cooled Monster was a constant amount of heat while water-cooled bikes had spikes of heat, so to say.
I've never had any trouble with any bike when riding at a reasonable speed.
>>
>>27753691
yes but v-twinks have unbalanced heat distribution because the front cylinder receives cooler air than the rear

Hey, pee twink lover. Riddle me this one. Why do most pee twinks nowadays have a 270º crank? Could it be that they are trying to replicate the feel, sound and characteristics of a 90º V2 because that is objectively the superior twin engine configuration?

Which means it's more expensive but don't try to imply that more complicated means less reliable because it's irrelevant when comparing a V2 with a pee twink.

This is the only opinion on the web for this model.

>Stay away. Congratulations to people who bought without field testing. At first glance high build quality. After off-road riding it slips away. Kayaba suspension mounts are made at cost specifically for cf moto and are really kayaba in name only. The bends are sufficient for road use. After 3,000 km (Georgia), of which about 40 per cent off-road, the suspension mounts start to leak. No parts available at the service centre. Have to wait 4mc for the amps to be imported. The engine is made of crap. After 2.5k I noticed valve clearances. Seats probably made of plasticine. I suppose with 30k km the valves will shoot off into space and we'll be looking for them on the moon. You can get an idea of the durability of the engine just by unscrewing the screws and changing the oil.... Worn bolts despite the use of good quality spanners. What do you expect when you pay a dumping price for a motorbike? I got my Moto from Hungary, where I live on a daily basis.

Parallels are cheaper to manufacture and easier to package, simple as. They can be built with 90/270/540 degree firing angles, giving them similar torque characteristics to V-twins, which further obviates the need for the packaging and manufacturing cost compromises on that front. For that matter, it's possible to lean a parallel twin just as far over as a V-twin in practice, eliminating the supposed CG advantage. Further, since parallels package easier, the same engine can be used in multiple bikes with much-reduced engineering effort. See all the many Honda 500 twins for example.

V-twins are purely a styling exercise. No harm in that. Bikes don't have to be about min/maxing, and giving up on packaging efficiency or production cost to produce a bike that is truer to a specific design sense is by no means the wrong move.

With a inline-system you need less cooling tubes and ducts in total, meaning the cooling-system is simplified a little.

With a V-system you can have one cylinder more in the wind, which improves cooling. But if the V-engine is mounted like the V4 in a VFR, the rear cylinders get no air, so they run a little hotter.

The main disadvantage of P twins is mainly heritage/character/marketing rather than engineering.

Also 45Nm vs 49Nm and better gas mileage
>>
>>27753981

Did you randomly choose the 5.5k RPM? Not at all related to the dip in torque the Monster has, huh?
>a dip in torque is a dip in torque
Sure, just keep revving, bro, drop down a gear.
They both have essentially the same torque and horsepower. The Monster is a bit more peaky while the MT-07 is a bit more linear.
The MT-07's advantage is due to it being water-cooled and so devoid of soul.

Care to explain now how the 749 makes more power than the GSX-8S while having a lower compression ratio and being 20 years older?

I might try these out and see how they go.

Hello anyone have or know things about Monster 821?
I found one with 12k miles 2015 model. What should I look in them?
>>

Like any duc, maintenance and reliability will be a bitch. From memory I think on that bike you need to take the exhaust off to do an oil change.
>>
Would?

>If you think you'd enjoy daily riding a two smokes is because you've never actually owned one.

This is over-hyped by the boomer sewing circle due to them being uncommon/extinct as road bikes. 2 stroke engines are reliable enough compared with similarly aged 80s/earl 90s 4 stroke engines as long as you aren't a retard and look after them properly. Unfortunately most people are retards especially if they grew up with strontium in their bones and lead in their brains so because their RD 350 had terrible low end power and exploded on them in 1981 all 2 strokes explode and foul constantly (with no relation to them fucking up the oil mixture or overstressing the engine) and no technology exists on earth that can adjust exhaust geometry to improve low end power while keeping high end power.

also I can't believe no one pointed out the mad suspicious fact that the P-twin defender had the word twin autocorrect to "twink" which must be a word he types a lot for that to happen.

Is it normal for a mechanic to ride your bike up and down the street for 2 minutes after a tyre change?

man, Japanese motorcycle culture is SO cool I swear it's untouchable, top notch, perfection.
Americans on the other hand, have no bike culture whatsoever, niggered out Busa is the best they've got.

Saw yesterday the guy that had this before me had a datatag pack installed (UV etch, datadots, transponders). I just registered it in my name. May as well I suppose!

>>27754407
I really need to register the one my bike has in my name. I doubt it will ever help in the event of a theft though.

>>27754408
They charge £20 for changing keeper details too...
I went round with a blacklist looking for all the little datadots. Found a fair few. The UV etching is cool.

because the price point difference is not that significant and it would be a waste if I ever wanted to upgrade

yeah, ill buy used and abused from some scammer because i have 0 experience and i will put the money I could have a new one for, into repairs and replacing stuff that is going to break
