Does anyone else feel fortunate to have experienced the used car market in the 2000s/2010s? I complained then, but in retrospect, we had some cool cars for not much money.

There was no Facebook garbage, it was either found in person, or a sketchy Craigslist ad. I miss my $1500 Miata br/o/s

You can still get incredible deals now, I got a 2002 C5 for like ~11k just a month ago. Just have to look around.
>>
Never got to experience it sadly. We got fucked hard, knew the world before it went to shit, never got the benefits.

T. millennial

Now I'm looking at $10,000 minimum for rusted out first gen miatas.

California CL in the early 2000s was insane.

BMW 2002, Alfa GTV, Lancia Fulvia, Datsun 500 were found every week for $4000-$10000.

I know because I looked every day.

This, if you want another Miata now's the time. I have seen non rusty higher mileage (150-200k) ones for $2000-$4000 again.

I don't care what fake jew numbers the government talks about, people are BROKE and the spare 30 year old car has gotta go.

Facebook Marketplace is so fucking bad holy shit

I bought a 2 owner '91 CRX Si for $800 back in the day. Now they're 30 owners and 5k for a broke dick HF.

There's an NB with zero rust, 5sp, and 65k miles on it in a small used lot in the ghetto for $4k. I keep looking at it.

We're living in a deadbeat society, people have found out they can make a living just being an asshole flipping shit on FB.
>>

You missed out by about 10 years. Many millennials bought Miatas, shoot that's how they had a resurgence in popularity. They were still fag car status until about 2013.

I've browsed it a few times. My last 2 cars were fb market finds I scooped up the same day they were listed.
>top - got from a literal boomer retired from the chairforce
>bottom - got for 2k back during the wu-flu scamdemic

Didn't have the money back then to buy a toy, had to get a salvaged econobox that could get me to work.

Used to flip cars like crazy in highschool in the pnw.

Good times. Miss those days. Thank God I got my dream car before shit went retarded.

In 2016 i bought a ford zx2 escort for 250$
Rallycrossed it 6 times
Daily drove it for more than 6 months, hammered the hell out of it.

I remember thinking there would always be 500 dollar volvos (redblocks). Then there were no manuals left around 2018 for cheap.

Now, theyre all like, gone or expensive
Fuuuck
