Why would anyone buy an R7 when for the same price you can buy an MT-09?
For just 1k more you're getting much more of a bike. Genuinely asking, who's the target audience for the R7?

Anons you should remember this already. Displacement on a local market usually depends on the local motorcycle licenses. In the EU it's 50, 125, ~500+cc. In the US bikes are usually sold with 300cc+ because reasons. Everything else is basically thirdy countries where you buy 250cc to feel like a king among 150cc plebs.

good question. maybe the complexity of the automatic transmission and access to serviceable parts is more complicated on a scooter so more time/labour is required.

Vital non-boring ramp update. The bike is due back from the shop tomorrow with its new tires, brake lever, generator, repared front axle and speedo. So have gone all out and finished the last ramp bits and any day now will be able to spend all day riding in and out of my house.

Last bit was sliding 2x4 pieces under where the cross beams go then running long screws through all three pieces of wood. [cont...]

...Also painted the underside. Had masses of paint left over from the decking paint+beach sand ramp surface so might as well use it. No fucks given about using OSB. Doesn't get wet and well supported underneath. Designed to fit snuggly in my (dry) trailer.

I have promised my son he can ride it in 2027 so there is basically 1 year for me to get good, do 'A' test then buy something bigger and louder. Need to practice every day unlike self-limiters who can afford to wait until spring.

I need to get to a point where this is all a natural to me as the pedal bike. It isn't yet. I am conscious that my road awareness is much worse, I think due to wearing a helmet and having mirrors instead of looking around me and hearing the shape of what is behind. Maybe less practical when routinely over 20mph.

Thank you for reading my blog. More adventures to come hopefully not of the wooden variety as that is Complete.
>>
>>28726151
>the shape of what is behind.
When you ride a motorcycle, in comparison to a bicycle, you worry more about what is in front of you than what is behind you because you're always moving forward and away from traffic.

how do you fix a crate like that to your bike? any recommendations for adding luggage to a naked
>>
>>28726181
For getting the bike up my three front steps. Last time I tried with a shit aluminium ramp it slipped, I bottomed the bike and snapped the brake lever. There is a corner at the top so it really needs the full width of the door to manouver. Also needs to rest on each step underneath to not to slide about.

It is built but not yet used in anger. Soon.

>>28726159
>When you ride a motorcycle, in comparison to a bicycle, you worry more about what is in front of you than what is behind you because you're always moving forward and away from traffic.
Hmm. That's true. It was at roundabouts particularly with things coming from all angles. That was when I thought I was really putting myself in danger. I should do a tour of the Selby Bypass. That is roundabouts the whole way and really get good at it.

On a bicycle I know my limits via the speed dynamics of slightly uphill (slow) or slightly downhill (fast) but I don't have the same instictive feel for it motocycling.

also i've not been looking that much but it seems weird to me just how few dirt road routes there are. i know there are loads of fire roads and stuff but i wish there was a resource for all of this stuff. a lot of the stuff locally i've had to hunt and find myself.

>bel-ray v-twin motor oil 1lt 2
>L70-03 oil scrn/pmp o-rng

It also says "bike would only run on choke" but it basically only starts on choke. And what does on choke even mean? With choke pulled out? With choke pulled in? How do these people repair vehicles without basic English? Maybe saying it a certain way is standard practice but it's all new to me. Am I going to have to buy a charger or would an autopart store or midas have one that I could use?

For those that have used up Bakuon!!! there is Watching. Unusual 1980s romantic comedy about motorcycles and bird watching. It isn't as single-minded as Bakuon!!! but it's nice. There is no race mixing or lesbianism. Nothing nasty. And probably 50% is on motorbikes, usually the hero's pre-war AJS.

There is loads of it on Youtube. This is episode 1.
https://youtu.be/fMObtbQj7OM
>>
>>28726310
'on choke' is a common way of saying 'choke pulled out'. Choke isn't always a lever you pull in or push out on other bikes.

Also get a battery tender for next time. Battery tenders don't just keep your battery at the right voltage but keep it warmed up so cold doesn't affect it. Then think about getting a lithium ion battery when you got the cash
>>

Minus:
Petcock riveted together so it's a replace rather than a rebuild part. The one you are looking at probably already has a replacement.
Wacky generator instead of alternator will eventually need new carbon brushes (still available through old jap bike specialist websites)
ComStar wheels.
Pros:
Four-valve air cooled engine, something the other manufacturers really couldn't pull off.

Ok fuck, but you know what I mean, right? It's a very mechanically complex system.

He claims he's never had a problem with it because it's a hondr and all of its components are bulletproof, his only problem has been minor wear parts like the brake disc which, like most things, he gets from one of three parts houses for hondas. Most of everything else is still manufactured for it because it shares parts with other models.

I always wanted a nineT and finally pulled the trigger a month ago, its a 2019 pure with 7k miles, full service history at dealer, it felt weird at first but I got used to it, its a wonderful machine, I was wondering if you could give me some advice

>wheels/tires
this one has spoke wheels with a tube, all my previous bikes have been tubeless and running a tube kind of gives me anxiety, would you recommend converting it with outex or something like that? also it still has its original tires from 2019, which means tires are at least 6 years old, should it be a priority to change them?

>protection
I knew what I was getting into when I got a boxer bike, I know there is no protection that would save the bike at higher speeds, but I was thinking about tipovers, I saw there are some nice looking "protectors" that go over the cylinder heads and "engine bars" that seem to be better at protecting look like shit

>services
should I invest in stuff/tools to do my own services (including the GS-911 tool) or should I just go leave the bike at the dealer once a year? (services are not that expensive in the third world)

I think you should buy it before someone else does and arrange to pick it up from the seller's home. Then you can politely remind them that you know where they live and will be back if you find any major faults with the bike. Make sure you do this while looking directly into their eyes with the piercing glare of a serial killer to drive the point home. Enjoy your new bike!
