what about EV motorcycles tho
>>
>>29073134
Like it or not, they're pobably the future of riding. Honestly, electric dirtbikes seem like such a superior option to ICE dirtbikes and dualsports. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before other types of motorcycles get mogged.
>>
>>29073139
Don't they have mediocre acceleration and shit top speed?
Not that I'm the kind of retarded biker who's ever speeding, but still
>>
>>29073139
Dirtbikes maybe, but for any sort of long distance or highway riding the range and efficiency is completely inadequate.
>>
>>29073134
Whar is the range?
Weight?
Acceleration?
Powerband?
>>
>>29073134
Purely for city use, and
>scooter vs EV bike
isn't as big of a competition in terms of efficiency as
>car vs EV car

Basically, for city use EV cars blow normal cars out of the water. Scooters and EV bikes though? Much closer of a race, and scooters are cheaper too.
>>
>>29073140
I think the Honder in OP performs like a ~600ish CC, so they're getting better.

>>29073147
The range is definitely the killer. I'm sure some engineer will eventually figure out a way to improve it.
>>

Large batteries are visually unattractive.
I don't know why these retard designers try and make it a feature of a naked bike
>>
>>29073159
I dunno, that honda in the OP looks kino as fuck, like something out of cyberpunk
>>
they will go mainstream in 5 years after solid states become commonplace with around 2x as much energy density. supposedly chinese EVs will start getting them next year
>>
>>29073134
too heavy. its an awkward medium btween an ev car and an ebike

retard
>>
>>29073134
No. Fuck no.

>>29073139
Absolute retard poster. The only valid use for EV DBs is for US military bike scout use.

For civis' EV dirt bikes/bikes are hot dog shit. Terrible range, Can't fix it in the middle of nowhere on the fly (you will, it's inevitable if you're a real nigga instead of a foo foo performative fag), batteries suck in the cold, also they sound hella gay because they don't make noise. Which also sucks because the engine noise scares critters away, EVs don't do that so that's a higher probability getting fucked up by some bucks or deer or mountain lions n shit.

They will remain as lime scooters for dense low mile urban life. Nothing more.
>>
>>29073169
>solid state
Wasn't that a scam?
>>
>>29073173
>no argument
>>29073175
You mean the technology in general? It’s been Coming Soon for 10 years and now finally seems to be.
>>
>>29073180
No I mean recently there was a lot of noise about an actual solid state battery coming to market and it turned out to be a scam

>>29073174
Do you know how much work maintaining a dirtbike is? Maintenence intervals are tracked in hours, anon. E-dirtbikes are 90% less work. They'll break less because the engine has less moving parts. They sound worse and are gayer, I'll give you that.
>>
>>29073214
Most of the work is replacing chains and tires, which you're not skipping with an e bike
I'll take having to do a 10 minute oil change every few months over not being able to ride more than 20 miles in a day
>>
>>29073191
>believing in marketing bullshit
>believing chinks
>believing chink marketing

lmao
>>
>>29073159
Those sail like wheels must be great with cross wind...
>>
>>29073134
Will be necessary to ride bikes once the gassoline distribution system collapses from everyone switching to EVs.
>>
I love riding EV motorcycles, the quiet is really nice, and the instant and linear torque is really fun.

The downside is, they're expensive as hell, costing almost double what equivalent gas bikes do, and the range is limited. I can comfortably do about 55 miles on a Can Am Origin before it got too low for me to feel safe. And when you do run low, unlike a gas car, there is nowhere for you to refill it. Level 2 charging stations are going extinct in the US since all major EV cars support at least some kind of DC fast charging, and most motorcycles only have Level 2 AC chargers on board.

Buying a bike that costs double just to only be able to commute on it and do nothing else is a horrible value, which is why the few EV bikes that do land on dealer showrooms rot until they're sold at a loss.

It's never going to happen at this rate, not without real solid state batteries that are stupidly cheap and energy dense. And you might as well wish for Santa to give you a blowjob since that's about as likely to happen all at once.
>>
>>29073134
They make no sound (huge part of the appeal for me).
No shifting takes a lot of the fun out of it.
They are sterile and boring looking. Picrel looks like someone shoved a PC inside a motorbike frame. Wack af.
I presume they’re still too heavy to be competitive with an ICE bike from a performance pov.
I’ll ride my old carbed screamer till I die or they ban them. No interest in the future of motorcycles if this is it.

>>29073134
in the dirt bike world they're already the best as long as you're not doing any long distance stuff
>>
>>29073159
Because the only place an electric street bike makes sense right now is the city and manufacturers have it hard coded into their design and marketing that naked bike=city bike.

Idk why though. I live in a city of millions of people and I see a dozen sport bikes, cruisers, and dual sports for every naked bike. Maybe it's different in other countries/regions.
>>
>>29073271
China are the ones leading battery technology. Most EVs use CATL batteries.

basically
>weight is part of what kills range
>fairings are heavy
allegedly the electric monotracer has a ~200 mile range so maybe looking into aero can actually help with the range problem. the monotracer is fucking expensive though
>>
>>29073134
I'd cop a surron
>>
>>29073214
Buddy ol' retard here needs to find his nuts. Of course I know about working on dirt bikes, I had a 250cc 2 stroke ffs and it was fun. Never let me stranded even in frozen tempatures or scorching heat. The internal combustion engine is just built different. Built better for the real world. Less moving parts? You can achieve that with ICE if emissions permitted. Evs just aren't good motorcycles, the way a mechanical one operates is much more natrual and human compared to how electric motors work.
>>29073271
They're the biggest idiots or the boldest liars. I think you can get them banned with tienamen square copy pastas
>>29073371
>The quiet is really nice
Soulless, cultureless, homunculus perspective havin ass loser tier behavior from the start.
Expensive? Huge profit margins for those distributors there. Especially given the fact you can't fix them when they break (battery systems ammiright) and good luck getting parts for the shit you can. Unlike ICE where everything is NICE
>>
>>29073464
>you can't fix them when they break (battery systems ammiright)
Aren't there electric bikes with removable batteries that you can charge in your flat?
>>
>>29073134
Harleys, apparently, are a fucking disaster. No parts available, due to legal issues with Samsung. The guy at Bikes & Beards brought in a specialist, to try to get his POS working.
>>
>>29073139
Do you bring a diesel generator to the trail head dumbfuck, it's only superior for white trash using the ambiguity of whether it's an ebike to crash into cars in suburbam neighborhoods
>>
>>29073140
The Stark Varg is faster than a 450, but only for about 1 moto.
>>29073134
Just say "electric motorcycle". EV motorcycle is saying Electric Vehicle a motorcycle. Do you also say ATM Machine?
>>29073158
Bad aerodynamics destroy range, and that's what bikes have in spades unfortunately.
>>29073464
I assume that anon is talking about 4 stroke valve adjustments. Also "natural" and "human" are absolutely absurd descriptors, primitive man making stone tipped spears could never fucking dream of forging and casting metal into an internal combustion engine or running electricity through a motor. I've never cared for the sound of 2t or 4t singles, they're FINE but not music to the ears. Having no noise complaints keeps tracks and trails open.
>>29073828
A lot of trucks can be optioned with built-in inverters, or yes you absolutely can bring a gas or diesel generator. For anyone riding on paved tracks, they become a part of your setup to power tire warmers to avoid heat cycling the shit out of your race slicks and degrading them prematurely.
>>
>>29073134
Super expensive and a bit too short range still. It looks sick though, like a naked bike with a PC instead of engine.
>>
>>29073836
My tire warmer generator would take 11 hours and 15L of gas to charge a Lightfighter long enough to run a 15 minute race. Now a dirt bike doesn't have a 16kWh battery but the time and energy economy is still rather shit for small generators.

>And when you do run low, unlike a gas car, there is nowhere for you to refill it.
We need standardized batteries and swap stations.
>>
>>29073381
Fucking hate noisy bikes when they scream past, me.
I hope bikers switch to EV bikes just for that
>>
>>29073407
Well, are you in the US?
If you are then you most likely don't really have city streets at all, even inside the city. It's all stroads so people still buy "power vehicles" even for city use
>>
>>29073371
>And you might as well wish for Santa
China has already been rolling out sodium battery EVs
>>
>>29073134
>>>/toy/
>>
>>29073915
Sodium ion should have lower capacity than NMC lithium ion and in no way solid state. The main appeal is that it's cheap and more resilient.
