>no locking mechanism>wooden handle>cant be used with one handwhy do people buy these again? besides "muh tradition", but i dont think people outside of france view them as traditional
cheapcuts stuff
>>2784277>has a locking mechanism >wooden handle>can be used with one hand Golly gee I don't know, maybe it's the excellent ergonomics, fantastic price and good looks?
it does have a locking mechanism you absolute retard LARPer. you twist the metal at the base of the blade/top of the handle and it locks the blade in place. it can lock the blade open or lock it closed.
>>2784277Svord Peasant is less complicated, far more indestructible, and probably safer owing to the "thumb lock" design.
>>2784277It’s the mora of folding knives. All together a great and functional piece for cheap
>>2784277>>no locking mechanismThe ferule rotates.>wooden handleNone issue.>cant be used with one handNone issue
>>2784277They’re just a nice cheap knife. I don’t have one but there’s nothing wrong with them. The blade does lock with the collar at the hinge. I’ve been told the steel is very good quality. Fuck it I might just go buy one and see how it is, though I do prefer one hand opening. It’ll just end up in the ever increasing bin of shit I never needed.
Idk if they are overpriced abroad like all our products but here in France they are cheap and available absolutely anywhere including stores that have nothing to do with knives in the first place so they are usually a kid's first knife, also thanks to the locking mechanism I think my dad got me one when I was around 8 so I could carve (shitty) arrows to play in the yard with and equally shitty handcrafted bow strung with kitchen twineOur more "prestigious" traditional option is the Laguiole, made with more noble material like horn and usually featuring a cock opener because it used to be a sheperd's knife at a time when wine was drank on the go at any given time or place, and features a small cross on the handle so said sheperds could just stick the knife in the ground or a stump and pray when they were away from the local churchOr a knife from Thiers, our self proclaimed knife capital where lots of knife craftsmen still remain
>>2784377>Cock openeroops kek
>>2784377je vais pas te mentir, je préfère les couteaux ricains. surtout maintenant que tu te prends automatiquement 400€ d'amende si tu en transporte un, traditionel ou pas.
>>2784277Cuts cheese much better than the full tang tactical larpknives that people like to bring innawoods.
>no locking mechanismIt has a locking mechanism, which is also more reliable than most of your tacticool shit>wooden handleSo?>cant be used with one handYeah man check this cool one hand flipping before I open my amazon package!
>>2784377Based dad. My mum let me buy a swiss army knife with my own money while on holiday in Estonia when I was 10.
>>2784277>no locking mechanismIt has a locking mechanism.>wooden handleThis is a downside why exactly?>cant be used with one handThis is a downside why exactly? You sound like a tacticool larp faggot. Opinels are cheap and fantastic for small tasks. Buy an opinel for small jobs and a mora for big jobs, and you'll have no need for anything else.
>>278438499% de l'utilisation de mon Opinel et mon Laguiole c'est couper du fromage et du pain chez moi ou en pique-nique donc j'ai pas de raison de dépenser plus dans un couteau importé, quant aux déplacements et amendes il n'y aucune raison pour un policier de fouiller mon sac à dos ou d'ouvrir ma boîte à gants après lui avoir présenté en bon ordre les papiers de mon véhicule étant donné que je vis pas dans un endroit "chaud"
>>2784277>no locking mechanismAre you retarded? The locking ring is among the best locking mechanisms. it's as safe as a backlock, and also locks the blade in the closed position like a elver- or pinlock. The only thing that's anywhere close is the balisong mechanism.>wooden handleSo? What's next, "not stainless"?>cant be used with one handIt can be, though. it's just a bit uncomfortably. If you have to deal with places where both fixed blades and knives intended to be used one-handed are illegal to carry (UK and some of the especially cucked places in the US), Opinel is the best way around that.
>>2784280It's amazing how these categories alone make knife autists seethe.
>>2784377many frogs don't know this but the rivets on the Lagiole are shaped as a cross so you can pray to your knife
>>2785193stab it in a stump, pray to God
>>2784277I love mine because of how thin the blade is, but I hate how hard it is to open. The wood swells and grips the blade like your mom's cooter gripping my shaft. It holds a sharp edge very well and it's ergonomic and light.
>>2785206>but I hate how hard it is to openyou know that heel on the blade side on the back of the handle, just hit that on table, a rock, a stump anything really. bang there your blade
>>2784411>The locking ring is among the best locking mechanismsIt seems you are the one who is retarded. It takes about 7 pounds of pressure to break an opinel lock. There's tons of YouTube grifters who run this test because it's guaranteed views. It's literally the worst lock and should barely be considered a lock.
>>2785209I do do that, but it's annoying. The one I always put in my pocket is this shitty little Gerber which does not have the same problem.
>>2785212>but it's annoyingyou are not old enough to carry a pocket knife
>>2785220I'm 30. At what age will I start to tolerate inconvenience for no reason?
they really do suck I would not use oneall folding blades that don't lock have a bloodlust greater than anything of them all D:
>>2784277They're lighter than any other blade of that size.
>>2785237100% totally lighter in the sneakers than any other blade.Flimsy and ghey, into the trash it goes.
