Recently moved to JC, TN from the west coast, life is good here. While I enjoy my comfy times and walking to the grocery store again, I don't know where to start exploring here.

Any tips, do I start here in Appalachia or do I go right to the Smokys? Any good day hikes?

I recently stayed in Johnson City TN in an airbnb and the host was BLACK - his profile on Airbnb (usually your face is pictured) is just an emoji lol.
He was fine, it was in this like housing development a small two story townhome. It was fine except I turned the air conditioning up and it was CURSED and I could not get it to turn off - so it was blowing cold air all night even when I outright turned the thermostat off. I woke up in a bit of a haze and set sights for Max Patch - since I saw it get shilled on 4chan as overcrowded. Heck of a drive and I had to ignore my GPS cuz it kept telling me to take dirt/back roads, many of which are fucked by Helene. I got there just in time, as I finished my hike a bunch of noisy people were starting.
Tip: don't do the loop, the loop goes annoying far out of the way with nothing to see. Make a left on the trail from the parking area, then when you get to the 360 bit, turn around and come down on the service road you came in on.

My tip: Big South Fork, it's fun, there's lots of overlooks, it's not as crowded as the Smokies.

>Any tips
so you fell for the soouthern culture meme. the first thing i would tell you is to stick with your fellow carpetbaggers. when locals talk to you they any kindness is fake, they are just trying to figure out what they can get from you. and if you help them they will become like a stray dog you fed and keep coming back. welfare and painpills are very very important to southerners because of the yankees, lots and lots of them believe readin is for yankees. the one thing you could do to make all the locals absolutely live you is tell them you are a pain management doctor since the pain management doctor is the most important thing to these junkies, they all got the vax because their pain management doctor controls their every move by holding their opioid prescription over their head. good luck anon.

Do I take advantage of them back? I notice they seem turned off that I don't speak with them much.

You know it's an American city when you see fifty cars for every human in a public space.

Drug usage has ruined Americans. In some places, nearly half of adults you see are on some kind of psychotropic medication. That's why so many people just seem "off".
