It is established that isolation while /out/ leads to particular hallucinations like hearing your own name and the best thing to do is to ignore it. Do not acknowledge. I wonder if this is related to all the native cultures that say exactly the same thing about hearing your own name. Have any of you experienced this or had hallucinations?
>>2852627Usually it's just the trees creaking making sounds like human voices. The reason it sounds like your name is because you're more responsive to your own name and natually hear patterns that aren't actually there. If I'm somewhere without trees, then I get worried. But trees are nosy fuckers. I experienced this all the time thru hiking, but never when I camped farther away from the trees.
>>2852628I agree with this but also I am talking about the brain basically generating a auditory hallucination of someone very clearly saying your name.
>>2852629I've never heard of that. Only in context of ghost videos, lol.
>>2852627i hear high pitched childrens voices often when walking through the forest
>>2852627never heard my name but sometimes i hear vague whispering from the wind or trees. this seems to be the spoopy /out/ thread so here's one>at remote cabin with some friends>trail access only and unreasonably far to hike, have to take snowmachine in winter>about six feet of snow on the ground, clear skies>all calming down for the night in cabin, getting ready for bed>go out to pee and stop generator>see flashlights and a group of about 4 walking and talking along edge of my land, right where my trail turns off, I can see exactly where they are>everyone is present in cabin when I walk in>whatever, probably the guy who has to go a mile further down the main trail before his turn>sleep>wake up and friend asks me who the people were>idk>walk down to the intersection of main trail where i had dropped off some stuff and seen the people>snow is absolutely untouched where i knew we had seen the people. hadn't snowed that night and I am sure the people were beyond my trail>>2852638the visual version of this is pareidolia. sometimes you find patterns and your mind makes faces and voices out of them
If I stay awake for more than 36 hours music plays in my head and it always sounds good but when I focus the lyrics are incomprehensible
>>2852627weird noise from wood cracking sure, but never anything even mistakable for a voiceeither you have clinical paranoia and should consult, or it's skinwalkers, but these got extinct since we got good cameras and 4g internet
>>2852627not /out/ but i have experienced this and worse on night shift. i don't believe in the supernatural, at least not in this context, but it's slightly disturbing that prolonged time on night shift leads to similar symptoms as being lost in the fucking woods
>>2852627I've had a reverse effect like this where I was fishing and talking to myself loudly. I had a persistant feeling go over me like someone was watching but I kept talking to myself but the feeling grew stronger and stronger until I turned my head and there was an elderly woman watching me a few meters aways. She asked some random questions like how many fish I had caught today or something and I stuttered something and then never ever talked to myself again.
>>2852627Never heard of this. Having a name with 3+ syllables helps too
>>2852627If going /out/ causes you to have a mental breakdown, then it isn't for you. People find solace in nature. That's the whole point. >>2854659You're brown.
>>2854672>mental breakdown Fuck off back to pol we can smell you
>>2854672Why indeed, Constantine is a very brown name
>>2854685/pol/ is the most frequented board of the whole site with /b/.Only leftards and niggers (which one are you?) think it's a minority not reflecting the whole site.4chan is /pol/ and /pol/ is 4chan.
>>2854720>complete mental breakdown upon being discovered
>>2854775Except I'm not the first anon. And you didn't answer, which one are you?>HAHA MENTAL BREAKDOWNHardly. Just providing datas. /b/ and /pol/ are the two most frequented boards of the site, whether you like it or not. You sound like the unstable one, here.
>>2854802You are questioning politics on the outdoors board.
>>2854720>minorityThe only thing minority about /pol/ are all the huwites and literal browns larping as germanics and anglos on the board. But the idea that you should be welcome to smear your shit on the walls of everyone else’s space, simply because there are many of you, is the most jeet-coded thing you could possibly think.
