Everyone check in - New England here, waiting to see somethingTonight is supposed to be the night
>>2858187Colorado reporting in Saw the northern lights on 3 hits of acid once, 11/10
>>2858189that must have been crazy
>>2858187Currently in a city. Feelsbadman
>>2858187>veryone check in - New England here, waiting to see somethinMA here. south facing beach is my only spot to get away from light pollution. Anyone have a better site than NOAA? https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/products/aurora-30-minute-forecast
>>2858211Central MA here - can't see shit yet!
>>2858189Epic drug use bro
>>2858219cry more bitch
I’m in DFW. Probably won’t see shit
>>2858187Minnesota, exactly 45°n here. It was underwhelming and not worth staying up to 2 am for. Perhaps if I had a better view of the northern horizon and wasn’t so close to town it would have been better, but it was underwhelming compared to November 11th or several other events over the last two years
>>2858275By comparison, here’s November 11th.
>>2858275I was watching this from noaa and it barely cracked the lower 48. Space weather forecasting is extremely new science.
>>2858224Same here. Still we had some not that long ago, so anything can happen.
>>2858292November
>>2858187Western Ny here. I don't even bother with astronomical events between November and April because it's cloudy over 90% of the time. The 2024 solar eclipse was a bust and so is this. Overcast skies last night and overcast skies again tonight. At least I got to see a cool aurora on a webcam yesterday. That's as good as it's going to get during the colder half of the year out here.
Saw it last night in straya, you could physically see the shafts of light with the naked eye for a little while, it was definitely more powerful than the last few events.
>>2858307The shafts I photographed in >>2858275 were naked eye viewable, my camera is an iPhone 12, lmao. Best of all were the bright green flashes right at the tree line, though I didn’t get good photos of those at all, but considering it was -24c/-10°f, it was a disappointing viewing compared to others over the last two years. Last May they damn near caused religious ecstasy, and were a horizon to horizon light show for like 6 hours.
>>2858320I've read that the solar storms were more active in the southern hemisphere this time around, could be why. I got to use a friends iphone 15 as well as my S25+ last night and I think the iphone mogs in terms of astrophotography, iphone normal photo mode with 30 second exposure (top) vs S25+ with 6 minute expert RAW astro mode (bottom). Next time I'm going to get another tripod and take photos of the exact same skies at the same times to really compare.
>>2858214according to social media there were some sightings around 4 AM on the south shore.
Well? Did anyone view it?
>>2858783The forecast was a bust. It wasn’t visible much further south than the Canadian border.
>>2858187Right on the tail edge of the green.Ill try to get pics if anything happens.
>>2859096You're a week late
