You are trying too hard. Also, I am very curious to know what exactly it is you are doing as you take these pictures given the looks you're getting in most of them. Do you make a sound? Grimace? Or look very strange?

You could turn that into a series if you can get your compositions from lazy to intentional. Yes, you are being lazy hip shooting. No excuses. You are already on the street, being looked at, and apparently being so something that people are doing that looking with terror on their face. Do that more, but better.

haha, thank you for the replies. i just put the camera in their face, and people's reaction are people's reaction. sometimes i get really friendly nice reactions, but thats not the style i'm going for... sometimes people really freak out though, especially in Manhattan, one asian guy came at me with a hammer nearly cracked my skull in broad daylight, mad funny

the black guy on the stairs was extremely chill about it, just sat there and smiled while i took like 50 pictures, i gave him a buck afterwards too. it was cool, he was totally silent during the whole thing..
