I recently found out something I didn't know about: Most electricity generation these days is renewable, meaning, basically from water, solar panels, and those wind mills.Wouldn't this mean that electricity usage doesn't contribute to "muh climate warming" anymore? Because I still see leftists act like it's a bad thing, with that yearly hour they have of turning off all the lights, etc. But I think at this point, it should be ok to blast the AC at home, etc, and other than the bill, it should have no effect on the environment.

You can put a solar panel on a vehicle and a battery it charges on the inside and become an electric nomad now. People will call you homeless, but this seems pretty Indo-European to me. I'm roughing it right now and learning what I really need - which right now is some better window covers, which I can make out of cardboard painted black, and some battery powered LED lights so I'm not fumbling around in the dark trying not to alert nearby homo-ners that I have decided to live in their neighborhood for 12 hours or so, which does feel like something hst might warrant some suspicion, to be fair, as I am a single man and I could get the jump on someone this way, abd they have no way of telling I am not some kind of rapist or thief or eavesdropper.

>>516032177i mean in europe, maybe north america too
>>516031357>Most electricity generation these days is renewable, meaning, basically from water, solar panels, and those wind mills.only in spain and other retarded countries like the brdmoving onaround the time you turn 20 you will realize that there is a contigent of people whose evolutionary strategy consists of everything you give them never being enoughyou will realize that they are just confused humanoids who are just doing the motions of "i need to tell those who matter i'm a good one just like them" and "whatever parole i need to say to keep unearned gibs flowing"they are just pidgeons in a skinner boxor perhaps when you graduate from being a kid you will just be one of them.
>>516031357What? most electricity is from burning fossil fuels retard
>>516033281>>516033408ok nevermind, i didnt really do a lot of research on this. you're right, this is basically only in spain because of the sun we getanyway insulting me was unnecessary, but well, that's to be expected from 4chan midwits
>>516031357forgot to say:if they didn't follow this script in literally anything, "debates" would be like 5 mins top of hashing out what the numbers say and going home.keep a counter in the back of your head when "damn this person still doesn't see it?" can be replaced with "pushing buttons to get cummies"just make babies with people who don't fit that, and be ready for violence when it finds you. better yet to just move to a non-bureaucratic location and bootstrap civilization with 100 autistic white men and the sabinian women.
>>516033644you confused "they/those" with the word "you"now i have grounds to insult youpero quiero vivir en un país que habla español
>>516033927una país?
>>516033281>only in spain and other retarded countries like the brdDidn't Spain have some like weeks-long power outage last year?I wonder if some power generation that didn't rely on the wind blowing would have helped that situation
>>516031357There's still a lot of maintenance, plus the production of green energy systems to begin with, is everything but green. A windmill will have to run for 50 years or so, in order to become "carbon neutral".
>>516033644>calls others midwits while spouting off a thread filled with his retarded headcannon that isn't even close to the reality he's speaking aboutOK fag
>>516034187the normal plants failedbecause they also need power or need constant output or sthof course the engineers were racist chuds so they went ahead with a high % solar anyway and it spiralled into the plants shutting all down
>>516031357it took energy to produce those things. it takes energy to mine the shit needed to make them.
>>516033748I dont think it's that simple. statistics can be manipulated and twisted in so many ways, or misrepresented. At the end of the day, the same way ideas need to be verbally explained, debates need to go on in order to discuss ideas. The only problem with that is, I don't think I've ever seen a functional debate in which there's any real progress being done, because people don't stick to the point and keep changing topics, or don't listen / don't want to address the other guy's point, or are simply proven wrong but don't care. Most of the time, you have to accept that the people who don't see it, are enemies and are in the way if you want to make society work, and that's about it.The new civilization thing would be cool ngl. Like a /pol/ style orania.
>>516034385i just had a fact wrong. doesnt mean im unintelligent. people who insult for bs reasons are typically unintelligent.
>>516034187definitely. we already know it was because of renewable energy
>>516031357Fundamentally, the problem with climate change is retards using it as an excuse to dictate what you can or cannot use in your own home; then they'll tell you that if you continue to enjoy being warm in winter and having hot showers every morning to stay clean or leave your lights on to deter burglars etc that somehow by magic the sea level will rise, your home will flood and if you don't install a chinese solar panel on the roof then you're just another climate denier. It's all polemic, annoying and ignores the laws of thermodynamics whilst also playing hard into predictions and forecasts in the future to strike fear into you for daring to grill in your garden.
>>516034651>I don't think I've ever seen a functional debate in which there's any real progress being done, debate clubs in school were gay that waysave it for people who are worth your time, simple algorithm for "debates":https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIATzLf-y04
>>516031357electricity still pollutes when it comes to building the infrastructure but the real catch, and why they always pile on the people instead of the industry, the industry who, overall, pollutes hundreds of times more than the people, is that they simply want pretexts to oppress you.Remember in the 90s all these ads about conserving water ? Were we ever at risk of running out of water ? no. It was just a convenient excuse to get the people to pay taxes, to obey.So does generating electricity pollutes ? yes it does. It pollutes less and less but we consume more and more electricity so things aren't improving. What's improving are the means of oppressing the people thanks to technology always being primarily applied to the ever expanding surveillance apparatus.
>>516034713you didn't just have fact wrong your entire thread and premise is wholly incorrect. literal two seconds of searching would have shown you that. you are a fucking moron of the absolute lowest caliber
>>516035284ok sandeep
>>516034836This is completely and utterly wrong. Not to go all>we're not so different, you and Ibut leftists are not playing the personal responsibility card or trying to normalize about leaving the lights on. In fact, they are specifically calling out energy companies for basically shunting responsibility for emissions onto their end use customers when those customers have virtually no decision-making power about what kind of wells are drilled or how much fracking is done, or how much coal is burned, etc etc. What leftists are saying is that the energy companies need to be forced into emitting less because it's clear they're not going to do that if left to their own devices. Part of that is regulatory, and part of that is taking away invisible fossils fuel subsidies that have been making those energy sources artificially competitive for years. When you hear people say "take PTC/ITC away from renewables because they're distorting the market" you should ask them - and yourself - why we should disadvantage renewables at the same time as we are shoving money into oil, natgas, and coal supply chains.
