Russia is essentially out of tanks at this point.

The best estimate put them at ~12,300 functional and immediately serviceable tanks. Even that estimate had a margin of error of +/- 10% due to how much speculation and educated guessing was necessary, and it looks like that guess was off by just about 9.1%. Alternatively, they just don't want to expend that last 9.1% if they can avoid it. Or it's composed of old models of tanks they can't maintain and supply as easily. Or they're being kept in reserve for internal use in the case of another Wagner-like chimpout. We can't know for sure until after the war.

>In my latest Donbas report, Ukrainian soldiers I spoke to described how russia now relies on waves of small motorbike convoys to probe the line. Dozens at a time, they drive straight at fortified positions, testing for weak spots. Most are shredded by FPV drones, but some survive, and those are the ones commanders study. Where a unit makes it through, they mark it as a gap and focus new assaults there. It’s not strategy so much as human sacrifice. russian soldiers are being used like live sensors, thrown forward to absorb fire and reveal where the defense is weakest. For commanders, the loss of men is irrelevant because life is cheap, endlessly disposable. In a modern army you’d expect reconnaissance drones or satellites to do this work. In russia, its waves of conscripts on motorcycles, knowingly sent to die. Ukraine cannot possibly cover every meter of a front that stretches for hundreds of kilometers, and the russians know it. They keep pushing until they find the gaps. It’s cruel, primitive, and wasteful but it works at times, at the cost of countless lives treated as expendable.

Trump is desperate to keep Russia from collapsing. He knows the only way a coherent Russian state can limp out of this is if the US and the rest of NATO stay out while our allies repel the impotent flailing that's targeting them. If even Poland were to independently join the war, it would spell the end for Russia. It would split and fragment on countless political lines as each ethnic group and each cluster of remaining ethnic Russians each try to feel around in the dark for a way forward. It would be a mass of related open conflicts and nuclear weapons would be in the mix, and we couldn't guarantee they'd end up in the hands of people with clear, consistent and predictable policy regarding their use.

That's insanely cowardly, but it at least makes rational sense, if you're a little bitch.

GREGGPOSTING

21.09.2025 – Update

In this sector we have Azov, Kara Dag, and the 14th Brigade of the National Guard.
All of these are offensive troops, with Azov serving as the storm unit and Kara Dag’s drone groups providing reconnaissance and drone strike support.

At Dobropillia we have full control of Kucheriv Yar, Maiak, Novo Toretske, and Razine, as well as all land west of the latter.
The Ruzzians are trapped in a motti there.
The tactic is not to storm the last Ruzzian fortifications but to wait them out so as not to sacrifice our own soldiers simply to accelerate a process that time will take care of.
As a result, the Ruzzians are giving up position after position and surrendering.
You can’t have missed the reports about this in various media channels.

At the same time, the five Ruzzian infantry brigades that are threatened west of the Novotoretske–Razine line must act.
The Ruzzian command cannot afford to lose so many units at once.
That’s why they have now launched an attack on Novoekonomichne along the main road toward Myrnohrad, while the five threatened brigades also move toward the same settlement.
They are trying to kill two birds with one stone: rescue the trapped brigades and storm into Myrnohrad.

Kara Dag is ready and has stocked up with several hundred FPV drones of different types.
Tactically, the Ukrainians are trying to “lure” as many Ruzzian troops as possible into one spot for a decisive strike.

The Ruzzians are aware of this and are doing everything to cut off transport routes into Myrnohrad.
They have built up a fiber-optic FPV drone armada focused solely on blocking supplies.
In this, they have succeeded to the extent that pickups can no longer drive into the city.
Supplies are now sent in by robots, and soldiers walk 16 km on foot to relieve each other at drone positions.
The robots are covered with camouflage nets to block heat signature.
The robot we delivered went into service immediately after unloading.

It’s not an easy situation for our guys: first, the drone units must receive their supplies, and then the Vampire drone group sends supplies further to the outermost positions by drone-drop.
The Vampire drone we delivered last time is still working—a miracle.
The explanation is that the Ruzzians are committing most of their FPV drones to maintaining the FPV wall into Myrnohrad, and fewer to hunting our Vampires and Kazhans.

If the Ruzzians fail to take Pokrovsk before the rainy season, the battle for Donbas is over.
That’s why they are now attacking mindlessly, even before they’ve sorted out their newly arrived reinforcements.
In the last 7 days there have been more than 1,300 combat engagements, over one-third of them around Pokrovsk.

While we were with Kara Dag, Zelensky and Syrsky were not far away.
They visited the command center and gave a clear order: prepare for a massive Ukrainian attack.
We saw the signs of this—preparations underway, weapons, ammunition, and soldiers briefed on their missions for the coming week.
Robots were running shuttle traffic into both Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad.

One personal note: Oleksander and Olena, two soldiers who met during their service, hurried their wedding at the registry office on the same day Hannu and I left.
The soldiers were highly motivated and happy that action was about to begin.

The final battle for Pokrovsk—and with it, all of Donbas—is very close.
The Ruzzians are trying their storming attempt from Novoekonomichne.
The question is whether we will counter-storm in the same direction, or go toward Zelene and Selydove.
The Ruzzians burned through resources in their failed Dobropillia push and had to quickly change attack vectors.
The Novoekonomichne route has been tried earlier this summer—with catastrophic consequences for them.

What will decide the battle are:
>Physical stamina of the soldiers
>Availability of drones and weapons
>>
>>516761793

Physically, our soldiers are in good condition.
We likely have better weapons, and our drone numbers should also be sufficient.
As my grandmother used to say: “Time will tell.”
The answer will come within 2 weeks.

Kara Dag also has a clear wish list of what they need.
Komisar also has his (as I shared in yesterday’s update).
Hannu is on his way home now, and once he’s rested, we’ll decide what the next fundraiser should focus on.
In the meantime, you can still donate tools and 120 mm cutting discs.
Contact Hannu if you have such items—they are urgently needed.

Ru casualties are pretty stable at an elevated 30-35k per month since May last year. Before that they were about 25-30k for about 6 months and before that it was 15-25k since the start of the war.
A slight downward trend in ru casualties in the most recent months this year may indicate some optimisation of their tactics. But it's not a signifcant deviation from the overall method of using solo infantry rushes on foot to seize territory and simultaneously expose Ukr artillery and drone units in the field that fire at them which Ru artillery can then strike.

>all-time low conscription rates in poccia
Nah I don't believe this. Janis Kluge is my go-to source for this and he says recruitment is still ~1k per day on average in 2025 which is sufficient to replace casualties. I don't think manpower will ever be the constraint that bottlenecks Russia. It will be money and guns not men.
https://janiskluge.substack.com/p/russia-still-recruits-1000-soldiers

Overall the cost of getting new soldiers is a significant but still small fraction of the budget. Bonus payouts, including regional payouts which outweigh federal payouts, and annual salaries combined are maybe 2-3T for all soldiers fighting in Ukraine per year. They could double salaries to keep the job attractive and it would be somewhat reasonable for the government to afford. But the defence budget is 10x that.
The more substantial cost imo is developing and giving them weaponry that is actually effective which will get them to achieve objectives without being kotel'd each time and maybe stop them from becoming paraplegic too.

As Lady Gaga says it's not the same without a gun.
As attested to by serving soldiers, the volume of equipment is low and the quality and functionality is worse. Hence why we see all these frankenstein's modified ladas functioning as IFVs. Not too dissimlar to the Islamic State jihadi style.

Anyway the point I wanted to make is that the monetary cost of war is felt most acutely in giving the soldier weapons and establishing and defending supply lines rather than getting the soldier to sign up in the first place by offering a generous salary. The cost of hardware and logistical support far outweighs the cost of wages.

The reason for their success is somewhat competent governance and avoiding corruption-laden "muh """"free"""" market" firesales of state owned enterprises after the end of communism

GREGGPOSTING

Finally, Igor Tunik Arrested: Time for the National Security and Defense Council to Act!
You know what I mean — as usual, the whistleblower writes nothing.
Why are these bastards still not under sanctions?

The Tunik family openly mocked Ukrainians during the war.
They never acknowledged Russia’s aggression, instead blaming President Zelenskyy
>“a junkie, a clown, he’s the one responsible for the missile strikes.”
This isn’t just arrogance — it’s active work for the enemy and a direct attempt to discredit the authority of the president.

Igor Tunik himself, born in Odesa and hiding in Moldova, poses as a “crypto coach,” but in reality he runs illegal currency exchange schemes through the “black” outlets of Vladyslav Savchenko’s Fin Union.
His network operates in Ukraine, the EU, and the UAE under the brand elrmcf.exch — a classic channel for money laundering and cash withdrawals.

His wife, Maria, better known by her stage name Mary Bambola, is no longer in adult films but now plays the role of a “victim of the regime.”
She published a tearful post after her husband’s arrest:
>“They took him without explanation, without a lawyer, and I am pregnant with twins.”
A story straight out of Russian propaganda — turning a man deeply involved in criminal schemes into an “innocent victim.”
>>
>>516768633
But the facts speak otherwise:
Financial fraud — illegal circulation of currency and cryptocurrencies.
Ideological sabotage — contempt for the state and insults against the President during wartime.
Family ties — his mother and sister registered in Chișinău, while he himself evaded accountability for years.
And now — finally, the arrest of Igor Tunik. Let’s hope the police don’t treat him too politely!

Question to the National Security and Defense Council:
Why are such characters still not sanctioned?
These are not just toxic bloggers or “pseudo-entrepreneurs.”
They are a national security threat, a financial channel for the enemy, and blatant propagandists for someone else’s war.

>Russian soldiers themselves almost daily express complaints about the colossal and indescribable losses caused by meat-grinder assaults in the Russian army, yet they still obediently accept the "military assignments" leading to inevitable death---- "This is not the first time our command has sent us to the slaughterhouse, specifically the command of the 328th regiment," — a Russian serviceman recorded a video message before going on a combat mission. ▪ On September 7, 2025, Danil Mikhailovich Grigorchuk (nicknamed "Watchmaker"), a serviceman of the 328th Airborne Assault Regiment (military unit 01011), recorded a video message stating that the regiment's command does not care about the personnel and ignores the huge losses. According to him, groups of fighters regularly go on missions, but no one returns: "When our fighters reach certain points, they simply disappear, and then there is silence." Danil noted that due to the lack of evacuation for the wounded, some severely injured fighters lose hope of survival and end their lives by suicide: "Some guys blow themselves up when they have severe injuries because there is no evacuation or anything." The serviceman asked his friends to spread the video everywhere in case he did not return or was killed, so that appropriate measures would be taken against the regiment's command and the lives of his comrades would be saved: "Spread this video everywhere possible to at least make it easier for other guys."

>Ideological sabotage: Kremlin’s “Intervision” falls apart The “Intervision” contest, which Moscow tried to promote as an “ideological alternative to the rotten West,” has backfired spectacularly. The winner is Vietnamese singer Đức Phúc, best known for his music video “More Than Love” — a story about a relationship between two men that has already racked up 125 million views on YouTube. On social media, he openly shares photos “for his boyfriend.” Meanwhile, in Russia, public displays of LGBT identity can lead to criminal charges. Inside the Kremlin, officials are almost certainly having some very heated conversations right now.

It seems at least to me though that vaush actually believes in humanity being able to make a better society for themselves and does offer his own consistent analysis on why things are or are not working out.
I can't say the same for people like charlie kirk, jordan peterson or other such grifters.
Also: political violence always comes from the overall constitution of society.
That glowniggers have done evil shit is true too and even here in Germany the BND for example perpetrated actions and inactions that specifically happened because of them and likely wouldn't even have come close to actualizaton in real life had they simply not existed at all.
That said, I think the "it's all glowniggers" line of thinking about political violence obscures the truth of its genesis.

When the fuck is AFU striking Alabuga, 553 drones is ridiculous, not to mention those are only the shot down ones. I know there are some days when it's only like 50 and that they've been saving up and it's not like that every day, but... And the cruise missiles, how many cruise missile factories does Russia have and where, is it really that hard to hit those factories instead of a refinery? I mean I do support refinery strikes but removing the threat of Shahed/Kh- missiles above your head sounds like it would be very positive for morale AND the budget since you wouldn't have to actually shoot down stuff that much and waste money for air defense. Who knows, maybe next time?

Air defence, range, and intel are all answers.
The next best answer is that drones don't actually delete these targets from the map but mostly disrupt operations depending on what is hit. They can only deliver so much explosive power before it's more cost effective to have built and fired a missile anyway. So there's no guarantee that hitting Alabuga would significantly slow down shahed production anyway.

Which is partially why Ukraine has been targetting refineries and pumping stations because these are easier to disrupt with the limited ordinance of drones.
>>
I am so excited for the inevitable collapse of russia
>>
>>516770896
>>516771377
Also it's why the videos that are shared most widely of drone strikes are when Ukraine finds and hits ammo stores because they cause a huge bavovna and amplify the explosive power of the drone.
Other drone hits are very weak in comparison and don't do that much damage. It's still worth doing as the cost of repair is still higher than the cost of the drone but drones are always going to be inferior to missiles which Ukraine can't make a lot of. Yet.

what >>516771377 basically said

the drone factories consist mainly of assembly lines and parts storage, hitting those with the 100-250kg warheads that typical attack drones have would most of the time just result in a hole in the roof, some damaged tooling and inventory maybe even personnel loss, but those things are easily replaceable/repairable and the disruption is most likely just days of no production.
sensitive and expensive equipment that is not easily replaceable for production are dispersed and not easy to find, plus a lot of the core components in Russian drones are produced in Iran/China.

compare that to the big and juice target that refineries make, since those cost a ton of money to replace, are easy to hit and cause ripple effects in the Russian economy overall.
if Ukraine manages to further increase the pressure on the Russian energy sector, there could be a possible scenario where civilian trucks/cars/busses no longer have their needs met, which can cause major disruption to the production of war material as transports are halted and workers cant get to the factories, thus indirectly reducing productivity.

at the moment though the goal of refinery strikes is primarily to weaken the Russian economy overall, Kremlin will make sure that the needs of the military are met first so it would take a lot of refinery strikes before we see any major consequence to military industry, or the military itself.

Russia can repair factories much faster than they can repair refineries, given that a lot of the tech is behind western multinationals.

Not only that, but the damage a single strike can do to a refinery is much larger than you can do to a factory, given that refineries have all of their hardware exposed to drones.

Third, Russia's economy depends heavily on both exporting fuel and making it to its own consumption, which affects not only their economic output, but also transportation of products for, for example, missile/drone production.

This also has the benefit of hitting civilians much harder, where I'm betting the Kremlin is much more likely to ration fuel to prioritize military ends than civilian. This leaves them with the dilemma of increasing civilian unrest but keep arms production up or maintain civilian civil stability but reduce weapons output.

On the medium to long term, its better to strike refineries than misisle factories.
