The problem with effectively banning kids from going on social media is that you must put in place infrastructure to ascertain who is a kid and this is primarily done through digital ID solutions that inevitably will tie people's online activities to their real life identities for easy lookup by tyrants who would wish to shame, silence, extort or imprison anyone deemed a thread to the incumbents. This mostly has to do with stopping people (voters) from going on Elon's or China's social media to share and discuss globohomo's civil mismanagement of its countries
