However, Boise proper is only 240k people, and the metro is 850k, so whether it's 'major' is debatable.I've personally been there and quite liked it; my wife is American and if not for a great job offer in Northern Saskatchewan I was strongly considering moving there, as it was cheap, with a good economy, low crime, great access to the outdoors, and was only a short flight from Vancouver, where most of my family lives.
