I made this a reply in a thread, but thought it could work as its own thread too. Sorry for the long comment.

I made a Twitter account during the 4chan chicken jockey. I've been going there for long enough to finally form an assessment.

X is literally namefag haven. I remember seeing someone here say that before, but they're right. I'm already in double digits of followers there and I don't even do anything but retweet and like comments with the very very rare actual post. X is an OK spot, but so many people there feel like they are more important than they actually are. Like they each have their own army of real followers and they have the power to influence major decisions at the drop of a tweet. Also a lot of tweets and statements 100% built to get replies. I've come across many "If you love Satan, you'll scroll, but if you love Jesus, type Amen" stuff, too. Again, all stuff that namefags would do and, like namefags, they are all starved for attention and thrive on self-importance.

All that said, it's not all bad. Quick and easy updates on what's going on is cool and it's fine for keeping up with hobby stuff sometimes. I'll just say that I'm not surprised that whenever X "gathers" to do something, nothing happens. People who say "X isn't real life" are right despite the people on X begging to differ. I know the attention whore and misplaced self importance thing is frequent throughout all of social media, but I've only really tried X so I can't speak to TikTok, Instagram or the others.

Anyone else have similar experiences with X or social media in general?

I did as well. Gained 700 followers in a few months just posting as it if were 4chan. I deleted though, stole a lot of my attention and i didnt like that.

There we national socialist networks that made gaining followers really easy. F amber.

The main issue with it is reportjeets and the fact you can't be racist and say stuff like nigger or faggot or threaten to kill people which is like 90% of things normal men talk about.

> "If you love Satan, you'll scroll, but if you love Jesus, type Amen" stuff
Those are engagement bait posts.
Many of them are jeets and chink bots.
They use this dumb shit to build up engagement on an account so they can later sell it or use it as part of a bot network.
You can also see them testing bait shit here on /pol/ to see what gets the most engagement before they deploy it on X.

I'm not going to delete mine, but it is very easy for it take a lot of your attention. I did find myself much more glued to my phone than I ever have been before. If it got me like that and I only used X, I feel VERY bad for people who use multiple platforms on a daily basis. That shit can't be good for your mental stability or your cognitive abilities in general long term.

it really does suck and i can hardly stand to be on that website for more than 15 minutes.

This is what gets me, the shills say that xitter is "totally super based and redpilled my fellow tradcath saar", but in practice it's even worse than what twitter used to be, and twitter was pretty reddit already, i don't get the people claiming that Elon is "one of us" when xitter is pretty tame and faggy

X is trash but this place is a fucking dumpster fire.

How many more "Trump is gay" threads do you think they will make today?
100? 200?

The goal is to make the board unusable after all.
Idk if X has a large group of people devoted to making it unusable in this way

You basically can't say anything about anyone on the basis of any characteristic, be it animal, mineral or vegetable or you can get banned so it forces you to use "inclusive" language like "they" because if you type "India" or "Hindu" or "muslim" or "gay" or "black" or any other race or country and say anything about them you can be mass reported and banned.

Elon tried to copy 4chan in terms of freedoms, but it's still a shadownban-ridden echo chamber.

Xitter has a handful of contributors who surpass the average contributor on 4chan by quite a bit in terms of the effort they put into their work, but overall, the average IQ seems much lower. And the fact that everyone has a persistent identity invites the usual social ballast one knows from forums.
There is also very little discussion. It's a platform where everyone is a tripfag. A post is a form of self-portrayal and a reply at best frames it and increases engagement, but discussion is usually avoided - both from the original posters and the other people in the replies, since they aim to maximise their own engagement rather than have discussion, which would not benefit them.
The fact that an algorithm decides on who is exposed to what kind of content biases the platform in favour or comedic content, ragebait and thirst traps, and it is usually controversy that gets highlighted rather than nuance or genuine insight.
The fact that people can and will block people who push back a bit too hard is also rather annoying. It's a platform that is on some level as rude and retarded as 4chan at its worst, but lacks self-awareness and the ability to endure being contradicted.

4chan isn't perfect obviously. It regularly gets raided by bots and who make it very obvious that they are. Right down to bots, trolls and shitposters replying to each other in the threads. They eventually tire out, but it's not great and admittedly the mods could be doing much better. All that said, there is no "algorithm". You aren't going to get a bunch of content that tries to "tailor" to your preferences here. So if you like chocolate ice cream, you're not just going to get a bunch of "pro chocolate ice cream" content because the algorithm wants you to keep clicking and engaging with the app. Here, you already know who the shitters are, you can tell by their flags and how they post most times, and you can safely choose to either leave them alone to jerk each other off or engage them knowing your playing with trolls and shitposters. And this is a thing the entire site already knows to do or at least knows about.

For their ups and downs, I'm much more willing to deal with what 4chan has than X. This place isn't great either, but it's not social media. That by itself makes it better than X even if X has its uses.

Everything you said in your reply is correct. I just singled this part out because it was so on the nose it hurts.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised. Also, it's clear you're right these are just engagement bait posts and it's interesting how, after months of "we've fixed X! It's better now", this keeps happening or actually gets worse.

Oh yeah, that annoyed me.
Noone would ever reply to a tweet.
They would quote your tweet and start their own thread, adding their own comment. Not directed at you, but to their audience.
There's no discussion because everyone is on their own soapbox trying to draw a crowd
At least here was can have a little personal discussion back and forth, until the bots shit up any thread that gets anons talking, of course

character limits encourage moronic low-IQ behaviour, as does the "endless scrolling" format

>calling it X
It's Twitter, he paid 900 trillion $ to buy twitter, despite all the stupid changes he's done to the website/app since buying it, it's still just twitter.
His vision of X will never be realized, same as his pie in the sky daydreaming about having a human colony on mars by 2020.
