It's not "hidden" at all, and if you disable Fast Roaming on both your Wi-Fi access point AND Wi-Fi devices in your vicinity, you'll see the data stop. Also, raw UDP packets to any port, including 5683, do not bypass any firewall unless you specifically allow them.

TR-369 is just an expanded version of TR-069, which is a remote management protocol and will allow remote administration of your device. If the ISP supplied the device, they probably have TR-069 enabled on it so they can push firmware updates to your router.

Personally, I don't like remote administration that I'm not 100% in control of, so I reflash the firmware on my devices with OpenWrt, or at least gain root control of them and disable TR-069 at the command line interface, which is almost always based on uci

Lastly, and I know this because it's an upcoming feature in the routers the company I work for is manufacturing, the NPU chip is indeed for "AI" - it's supposed to learn what your regular Internet traffic looks like over time, and then start implementing on-the-fly changes to your firewall rules whenever the AI detects something that doesn't look "normal" compared to your usual usage patterns, eg. if you normally have no outbound data being sent to a specific IP address in India on a specific port, and suddenly something on your network starts trying to send gigabytes of data to a random IP address in India... It might be data exfiltration following a security breach, and the AI would be expected to jump in and automatically add that random Indian IP address to your firewall and block the outbound data, and also to generate an alert for you to review the traffic and decide whether to keep the rule permanently or whether it's a false positive.

The reason I don't see much point to this new over-hyped "AI" firewall stuff is that you should lock everything down by default, and then allow the stuff you actually need / want, as exceptions to that rule, not the other way around...

When did i ever say it could gain direct control of your motor functions ?
