Good to Great. It's a famous business book but it's a bit outdated now.

Kinda want to get through it. I ordered some fiction (sci fi) books today. I'm trying to read more fiction and not just work-related stuff all the time.

I suggest Leon Uris’ Trinity, if you like fictional biographies. Very well written

> The book tells the story of the intertwining lives of the following families: the Larkins and O'Neills, Catholic hill farmers from the fictional town of Ballyutogue in County Donegal; the Macleods, Protestant shipyard workers from Belfast; and the Hubbles.

> The book describes a number of historical events, from the Great Famine of the 1840s to the Easter Rising in 1916.

Once you finish Nietzsche you’ll have a working understanding of Mithraism and Freemasonry and what they really meant by “forging a man” and how it really does boil down to a gradual covering, masking, and dimming of one’s internal moral compass (aka the Light of God), so that they can start acting like psycho evil dicks and not feel guilty about it. And how the spiritism and magic shit is mostly window dressing and taboo-breaking training.

> Martin Lings is overrated. A lot of his sources are apocryphical.

I’ve heard people saying that in online reviews of the book. That said, it’s a great read in terms of its composition, I’m getting very good information on where your Prophet comes from, and it’s on Timothy Winter’s reading list (Shaykh Abdul Hakim Murad), so I’ll take it as authoritative for the time being and find the apocrypha later. I’m just a beginner to all this

Sewing machines are one of the best inventions in the history of mankind. Men made this thing that dramatically increased productivity allowing women to become more useful. Before machines all clothes were hand made taking forever and had tobe custom made to fit the man. After a few standard sizes could be mass produced. Men could say I'm tall biotch, hand me that, have the pants hemmed, pay, and leave the store, all in less than an hour. Massive advantage. Not to mention the seeing if leather hoods, military uniforms and gear allowing two world wars, and childrens toys and clothes. It used to be common for baby boys to wear dresses because they fit as the baby grew and diaper changes were easier, but seeing machines enabled cheap sex specific clothing. The speed and repeatable stitching with superior strength allowed heavy jackets to be mass produced too basically ending frostbite too. Amazing machines. The old singer type machines will literally last forever with a minimum of maintenance. I have some from the 1950s still going strong.

Does anyone else struggle with retaining the things you read? And I’m only talking about fiction.
I have a hard time with it. I keep trying different methods of memorising plots using notes, voice notes, notes written in the pages themselves, it often feels like I’m spending 25% of the time reading notes actually reading.

I could try to recall the exact plots (ok they’re not incredibly memorable) of all of the Conan the barbarian stories I read in a compilation last year but really they all sort of blur now.

I literally tried for 5 years following every type of instruction. Your mind can either accurately measure distances or not. If you can’t then it doesn’t matter what techniques you have, you literally will not create something that looks accurate to what you’re depicting, or that looks correct if it’s from imagination.

And every cunt who tells you that it’s possible to learn to draw never “learned to draw” himself. Everyone who has ever been a good artist was never a bad artist.

By that I mean, little kid picks up a pencil and draws a cat, he does it quite accurately and keeps doing it, his classmates all suck at it, some keep trying but nobody really improves significantly and then most get embarrassed and quit, he keeps doing the thing he’s already talented at and makes very minor improvements all the while telling himself that he’s only as good as he is because of hard work, when he’s merely developing naturally into a more competent adult.

I’ll repeat; nobody who is good at art was ever bad at it. They picked up a pencil as a child and accurately depicted what they were drawing.

It is as much of an innate skill as playing music. Some people are naturally talented. Normal people must learn. The biggest skill you need to learn in art is spatial reasoning, the art equivalent of musical pitch intervals.
I am reading pic rel. I was astonished that Jean had such a grasp on the progressive self-destructive mindset all the way back in the 1970s.
On the eve of the arrival of almost 1 million blacks by boat, the professor who has lived in this town for generations watches the hordes celebrate arriving in France. A young, white man approaches and is excited at how wonderful all this is.
>Professor: "And you think you're like them? Your skin is white. You've probably been baptized. You speak french, with the excellent people from around here. Perhaps you've got relatives in the region?"
>Young man: "So what? My real family is all the people coming off those boats. Now I have a million brothers, sisters, fathers, and mothers. A million wives. I'll have a child with the first one I see, a dark child, and then I'll no longer see myself in anyone."
>"And then you won't even exist anymore. You'll be lost in the multitude. You won't even know you exist."
>"That's all I ask for."
>>
>>532477807
Leftists such as that can be understood as dopamine addicts exactly the same as heroin addicts.
They need a way to feel that they’re of value but have no personal qualities, so having “good” opinions stands in.
Being more charitable to someone who you’re unrelated to and won’t necessarily contribute back to you will always seem more generous than keeping your investment within your in-group, and on top of that the kikes instilled in everyone the notion that in-group preference is only ever inspired by irrational hatred after the war, so these very weak people only have one notion of how to make themselves seem like a valuable person.
I hate them as much as I hate any other fucking junkie. More in fact.

Have you ever taken an IQ test? Even just an online one? I take issue with your idea that drawing ability is totally innate, but there are some aspects of it which could be. I've always struggled with perspective, proportion and mirroring.

All children enter a stage where they draw in symbols. They draw what they think they see instead of what is really there. Learning to draw is unlearning these symbols. If you haven't tried it yet, Drawing in the Right Side of the Brain is pretty good. I'm no pro, but I have seen significant improvements. Also, drawabox works well if you want a free resource.

Everyone has to learn. Some people just have certain neurological traits that make certain parts of learning easier. Some people also practice more and earlier. You can't know how easy or difficult it will be for you until you try.

It's the best freely available one and I don't personally care enough to get mine done professionally. When I first took it, I scored like 115 on the verbal and spatial components, but got 95 on the memory component. I was a bad insomniac at the time and had anxiety/depression. Fiction plots contain a lot of information to memorize, so unless you re-read and "study" them I don't know why you'd expect to remember them perfectly, especially if you read a lot.

Curry powder. There is also pineapple, it's pretty good except for the copious amounts of grease.

I finished Solaris by Lem a couple days ago. I've on Eden now. Not as good, but I still really like it. I'm nearly finished watching season three of Twin Peaks and afterwards I'm going to read The Final Dossier.

The Gifts of the Jews
NATIONAL BESTSELLER • The author of the runaway bestseller How the Irish Saved Civilization takes us on another "captivating...persuasive as well as entertaining" journey into history (The New York Times), recreating a time when the actions of a small band of people had repercussions that are still felt today.

The Gifts of the Jews reveals the critical change that made western civilization possible. Within the matrix of ancient religions and philosophies, life was seen as part of an endless cycle of birth and death; time was like a wheel, spinning ceaselessly. Yet somehow, the ancient Jews began to see time differently. For them, time had a beginning and an end; it was a narrative, whose triumphant conclusion would come in the future. From this insight came a new conception of men and women as individuals with unique destinies--a conception that would inform the Declaration of Independence--and our hopeful belief in progress and the sense that tomorrow can be better than today. As Thomas Cahill narrates this momentous shift, he also explains the real significance of such Biblical figures as Abraham and Sarah, Moses and the Pharaoh, Joshua, Isaiah, and Jeremiah.

Full of compelling stories, insights and humor, The Gifts of the Jews is an irresistible exploration of history as fascinating and fun as How the Irish Saved Civilization.

>Is anyone here writing anything
I haven't, but I want to. I have also started reading "Save the Cat! The Last Book on Screenwriting You'll Ever Need" to pursue it. To be honest, I am not even sure where to start with a short story or novel.

Currently reading Disraeli's first novel, Vivian Grey.
It's dreadful so it's taking a long time to read. The story is boring, the writing is pedantic...
Being a retarded bibliophile, I purchased Disraeli's complete works in 11 volumes. I'll read them all, but over a couple of years.

its about how wokism has taken over academia, im hoping to see if it agrees with some of my wider theories as well.
but yeah if you think jews are behind everything youve been infected with a critical theory. any worldview that fixates on 'thing=bad' instead of trying to build stuff is a loser theory
