Now that it's basically over, what did /pol/ think of Pax Americana?

It will be the new rome and societies in the future (if they still exist after nuclear war) will uphold it as a shining example of civilization. The mythos will outlive the truth.

America, China, and the USSR will be seen as the holy trinity of successful societies.

Incredibly entertaining. Such creativity and optimism. It will be a thousand years before we get this again.

Empires are a mistake, the Roman freeman lost everything to Latifundia, the outcome was replacement by Hellenistic easterners. England wasted its industrial edge enriching only a handful of men. The US was the world’s largest economy before the turn of the 20th century, the infinite money printer made the average American poorer. Empire isn’t about le glory and ruling other countries, it’s about bleeding your country dry for a few rich assholes

There is no international trade without the USA allowing it by not actively sabotaging the sea lanes. All nations must be on board for the global supply chain to function. Any disruption no matter how small is catastrophic. One bad actor can ruin it for everyone. The USA never signed the Paris Declaration Respecting Maritime Law. Article I, Section 8, Clause 11 of the US Constitution authorizes Congress to grant letters of Marque and Reprisal.

it can be summed up by an identity based period with rampant inequality, degeneracy, and an optics of deceit and exploitation.

A world where the enemy is simultaneously the hero and the villain.

I honestly think that the 70-80's US and Europe was the best time to be alive as a common person in the history of mankind. It will be remembered for its relative peace, prosperity and optimism as well as more or less social harmony. Sure, it was all a delusion if you looked beneath the surface, not to mention that global center was directly or indirectly lighting flames across the world to sustain their dominance. I am as anti-Yank as they come, but even I look at OP's picture and understand the nostalgia that era.
It's ogre.

The irony is that Sheinbaum`s administration has been more critical of Israel than your philosemitic cabal could handle without suffering a stroke. I don`t even like her, but this is such a ridiculous criticism for you to make given the Israeli fanaticism that governs much of US geopolitics.

I'd include the 90s and 00s to an extent, if only because of the explosive growth of technology before the powers that be were able to figure out how to lock it down and use it to oppress the population. I'm not talking about winblows either, but C64 and Amiga, and seeing the incredible advancements in gaming and entertainment technology was cool too.

The early era of computing was amazing and cultivated some of the smartest and innovative people in history. If you were 18 or older by the time 1990 hit, you were able to fully appreciate and use this to cultivate yourself and accumulate wealth. That's what I would say was the last train out of shitsville.

It might be great to live in China during the 2030s-50s if it liberalizes a bit so it isn't a total dictatorship, but I can't imagine they'd get to experience what it was like to see the advent of modern technology and communication. Every industry is too mature now, and all the easy forms of wealth have been fully exploited.
>>
>>532564270
Glad I got to catch a glimpse of the tail end of it. It must've been great to live the bulk of your life through it, you can almost understand why the boomers were so deluded and gullible, they thought that was the base state. It will probably be upheld and romanticized as a mythical time like the 2nd century AD by people who could never hope to have even a little of that quality of life. Too bad we let women, jews and niggers destroy it.
>>
>>532565747
Hopefully she gives Mexican women better access to higher education and abortion services.
>>
>>532566204
I think boomers were shellshocked by the hardships during the 70s-80s and thought that was as worse as it could get. They thought that was the floor, and prided themselves on (temporarily) dragging themselves out of it. But we're clearly in a worse position now than we were back then, if you count things like price of food to minimum wage and the price of homes.

It was shit. I thought it was good when I was a child and uninformed

very true. I agree wiith your assessment on the rise and development of modern computing. It's very inspiring to read about the geniuises involved in those endeavors. People are delusional if they think China will replace the US's rule as a global hegemon. Nobody will capture the throne of sheer economic, political and cultural power that the US was at its height. Back to multipolarity it is.

Their "hardships" were more like a tiny cloud marring up the sky on a perfect day. They never knew anything even remotely difficult in their lives compared to what came before or after them. And even what came before was racially and culturally homogenous and the average pleb could still have a job, wife and home.

at it's peak, 7.5/10
Overall 4/10
I don't know why all you idiots call it Pax since it was marked by constant armed conflicts, unlike the original Pax Romana, which saw actual development and lasted for about 200 years. This junk food empire is crumblies after only 56 years of constant war.

It was severely lacking in Pax and the Americana was a bit shallow a tedious but other than that, I guess it was not to much worse than any other empire.

My man, I'm not relaxed. Mexico's a sad shithole. That's just the truth of the matter, and it would have been so with or without Sheinbaum. Cartels don't care about ideaological affiliation. It's a question of blunt political pragmatism for them. They'd kill any vulnerable politician who does not bend the knee regardless of what party they pertain too. They've killed Morena candidates before.

No one is replacing the US as the global hegemon (for now), but the global American empire has its days numbered. We're going back to multipolarism for the foreseeable future.

Nuclear war is beneficial to the USA. It would make the US population 90% White after the cities are obliterated. The population of the USA is more spread out unlike the population of China which is mostly along their coast. Ethnic Russians would be functionally extinct after Moscow and Saint Petersburg are nuked. Pakistan and India would nuke each other. In the event of a nuclear war the USA would nuke countries like Brazil and Mexico that aren’t even actively involved in the conflict as a contingency measure to make sure they don’t rise up in the power vacuum after the war. Africa will be depopulated by famine after the collapse of international shipping.

Just because you're a failure of a human being, living in a festering dump that you would never have the courage to defend, doesn't mean America is coming to an end.

You can always kill yourself, though. I'm sure your false god will forgive you.

That said, its being demolished from the inside and attacked from the outside. Its a shame...
