>>533084326china is smart. that one china man has been saying for years that trump would attack iran and that iran would close the straight.

>>533084492Many already knew china was buying a ton of oil in expectation of a second israeli attack after june 2025. Prof jiang was just talking about this publicly while western media never mentioned it. China bought the oil anticipating the blockade to last several months so they could ride out the war and the chaos that followed. Now china can tell taiwan to join them to get some oil because there's no other way now.>do nothing>winbest strategy ever.
>>533084541>>533086019this, amazing what you can achieve with a little common sense and planning.
>>533084492His name is Shin Megami Tensei.
>>533084412Yes China is so smart in fact that it is just lost 50% of it's oil imports because it tried to replace the petrodollar. The future is looking bright for you guys.
>>533084326Turns out, chemicals are used for valuable things other than transportation. I don't expect dimwits online to understand this value.
>>533086511China has over 1 billion barrels in reserve already, more than the US strategic reserve and commercial reserves combined. China has more than enough time to send ships to the US/canada/mexico/nigeria/russia to plug any future gaps in oil demand. And because oil is in backwardation, they can buy it several months out and only pay $80/barrel right now while the ships cross the pacific. China didn't TRY to replace the petrodollar, america did that by attacking iran. China is heading towards a gold-backed BRICS currency it appears and their USD reserves keep dropping. Iran is the one demanding people stop buying gulf oil in dollars, and they're likely to get their wish. With gulf oil halted, there's no more dollars flowing into GCC countries, ending the petrodollar loop.
>>533086960If CNY becomes the reserve currency, wouldn't it rise in value and destroy China's exports?I think the only reason they're doing this is because they want Taiwan at any cost, including a significant cost upon their own economy. It probably anticipate US sanctions if it makes any move upon Taiwan, and this is a way to disarm such sanctions. But again the cost upon their exports is probably not going to be worth getting Taiwan. The real "do nothing and still win" country in this case would be the US
>>533087262China's looking for a way around this, hence the BRICS currency. It's likely to be a basket currency, so CNY would be part of it, but not 100%. It would be somewhat similar to the euro in this regard.
>>533087262If China just says fuck it, we don't want to touch Taiwan for the next 50 years and focuses on building its economy, including dominating EV and renewables, and actually figuring out fabs, it will eventually win.It is actually Xi Jinping's expansionist hubris in this case that will destroy China in the coming decades. The only outcome where China ends the 21st century being ahead of the US is if Xi dies before he makes a move on Taiwan (and assuming his successor doesn't continue the same line of thought).Xi basically got ragebaited into focusing so much on Taiwan. The recent PLA generals' and some CCP leaders' purges are probably people trying to talk him out of giving a shit about Taiwan.
