It is the market saying, if oil is harder to transport it deserves a higher fee versus, holy fuck this is never going to end and the economies are all going to go off a cliff. Doesn't matter the price per barrel if demand is gone. Oil is also not a tap you turn on and off when you want. You pump, you transport, you store, you load, etc. It is process that needs to be regular. You also have to continually pump wells of they can stop. If this continues for another month or two, everything is fucked. 30% of the world's fertilizer moves through the Straight. It isn't an 'oh great we resolved the war' prices can come down ... planting season is NOW and nobody has fertilizer. We will probably see some real death from this.
