Why don't they just build a new pipeline like this green line to bypass Iran?

Compared to similar length pipelines it should just take 3 months to build.
>>
>>533184446
the chinese built one for them

Control and sovereignty. They're not selling pickles, they're selling the single fuel source that runs the entire planet. In the MENA region all manner of parties exist and all have their own agendas.

>it should just take 3 months to build.
Even less if they use nukes.
>>
>>533184446
Because Iran would simply bomb it or have a proxy bomb it.

Sunk cost fallacy
>>533184885
Picrel is a much better investment, though it should clearly be built southwest across the flat and level plain to the sahel of timbuktu instead of due south over giant mountains to the jungles niggeria
>>
>>533184446
Good luck attempting to build a pipeline, or operate it while it is actively being droned and hit by missiles.

>muh air defenses
Only one has to slip through to turn your pipeline into a big flaming pile of twisted metal. The only way to solve the problem is to reach some kind of durable peace so that nobody is actually shooting at rhe pipeline, and this is functionally not possible when Israel bombs all of it's neighbors every three weeks.
>>
>>533184446
Iran can still easily send drones and missiles to it

the strait is a natural "pipeline" that can't be destroyed and the territorial waters of Iran/Oman
>>
>>533185520
The Saudis already have a pipeline that moves oil and Iran has been unable to disable it.
>>
>>533185607
They can destroy the ships then if they’re so capable, pipes can be repaired
>>
>>533184937
just build it underground nigger

No one is trying to deliberately destroy all oil infrastructure yet anon...
>>
>>533186955
they don't want to destroy them lol

the strait was open before the US started our illegal war
>>
>"Why don't they JUST" insert stupid fucking idea here
>>
the amount of time it would take to unload and reload would cost more than the project itself

Just surrender to iran already.

Elon Musk's Boring Company says "hi".

A) Iran started the war in 1979. The US is just trying to wrap it up.
>illegal war
B) Just because you don't like it doesn't make it illegal, it just makes you retarded.
>>
>>533185031
Issues are as always warlords taking over just like they did with the water wells. It's a lot of ground to enforce distribution if there's a Reverend Buck Naked in the area.
>>
>>533185031
The problem with all these proposed pipeline projects is they all go through volatile regions and the length of the pipeline makes it impossible to defend.
>>
>>533186845
>Iran has been unable to disable it
Iran hit the pipeline with a drone as a warning that disabled it for a few days. They can destroy it whenever they like.
>>
>>533188114
>Iran started the war in 1979
False. The US started the war in 1953.
>>
>>533186981
then its a 5 year project that costs 10x more

Because it's a theatrical performance meant as means to an end. Basically this is plot magic intended to cartoonishly force a global transition to a post-oil world order.
That's why you're seeing moon interest renewed. They are pushing the zeitgeist into space, with helium-3 mining, orbital data centers, AI running everything, etc. Oil won't be coming back down, probably ever.

Exactly why a timbuktu pipeline covered in photovoltaics would be much easier to defend with drone swarms out in the open desert than by running a pipeline through a hundred miles of dense niggerian jungle

We'll also install moats with robot sharks...it's a pipeline with ALOT of exposure. You put out solar panels and Ibet in a week they're all gone running someone's well or radio. The drones they'll turn into head dresses or someshit.
It's Africa. It's huge.

Nah just a dam would suffice for irrigation purposes
>it's a pipeline with ALOT of exposure
Hence the desert, but as a Canadian you wouldn't understand
>You put out solar panels and Ibet in a week they're all gone running someone's well or radio
Hence the drones, but you're not ukrainian so you wouldn't understand

Like the russians in /uhg/ and /chug/, got it

So is russia, how's that working out in ukraine?
>>533191372
Just install a water pipeline from the niger river clear to algeria with drinking fountains every mile so the caravans can fill up when they get thirsty. Capitalism doesn't HAVE to be evil you know
>>533191467
Oh gosh Elon wow I hadn't thought of that
>>533191689
Yeah and then clear to mars
