Plus I had plenty of free time to swim, run, life weights, and bang brown girls. I went enlisted military straight out of high school, and I am somewhat jelly of kids who got to spend 18-22 living an idyllic campus life instead of getting harassed by fat E-6s during their formative years of early adulthood. Would pretty much recommend it to everyone. Spending your life solely in the pursuit of optimizing income/retirement is a huge mistake, you only have a limited amount of time on this planet and should aim to enjoy it.
