So as a former gallery worker, they have something like 7 metal trays full of different foods that sit in a heated sink of water like a buffet. Each person in line asks for what they want put on their tray. If they only ask for 2 items, that's what they get. There's always a tray of rice and mixed vegetables no matter what. It's cheap and easy to make and served every day along several other choices. There's also always soup, salad bar, and desert although it's nothing special. Pudding or dried cookies. There's no way they aren't supplied with food. It's not especially good food, but it's always available. People are just taking photos of mostly empty trays for trolling purposes and eating stuff from care packages instead.
