UK and France to host defence ministers summit on Strait of Hormuz

The UK and France will host a meeting of defence ministers from more than 40 nations tomorrow on plans to protect shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

UK defence secretary John Healey and his French counterpart Catherine Vautrin will co-chair the meeting, where partners are expected to discuss military plans to restore traffic through the strait once hostilities have ended.

The UK has already announced HMS Dragon has been deployed to the region to play a part in the possible multinational mission.

Shipping through the key waterway remains paralysed as the US and Iran once again reject each other's proposals to end the conflict.

"The UK is leading this multinational, defensive mission because trade, energy, and economic security for working people here at home depend on it," Healey said.

"We are turning diplomatic agreement into practical military plans to restore confidence for shipping through the Strait of Hormuz."

British warships in Strait of Hormuz 'will be met with immediate response' - Iran

Iran's deputy foreign minister has issued a stern threat over the potential deployment of British and French warships in the Strait of Hormuz.

"Any deployment and stationing of destroyers around the Strait of Hormuz, under the pretext of 'protecting shipping', is nothing but an escalation of the crisis," he said on social media.

"The presence of French and British warships, in the Strait of Hormuz, potentially accompanying the illegal and internationally unlawful actions of the US will be met with immediate decisive response."

The UK's Ministry of Defence said on Saturday it was deploying its HMS Dragon warship to the Middle East in preparation for a potential multinational effort to protect shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, once conditions allow.

It comes as Britain and France have been involved in plans to get shipping flowing through the crucial waterway.

The plan would need coordination with Iran and a dozen countries have indicated a willingness to take part.

UK responds to Iranian threat against British and French warships

The UK has responded to Iran's threat against any British or French warships that deployed to the Strait of Hormuz.

Earlier, Iran's deputy foreign minister said any ships would be "met with immediate decisive response".

Britain has announced it is deploying HMS Dragon to the Middle East in preparation for a potential multinational effort to protect shipping in the strait, once conditions allow.

In a statement on Sunday evening, a Ministry of Defence spokesperson said: "HMS Dragon is deploying to the Middle East to pre-position ahead of any future multinational mission to protect international shipping when conditions allow them to transit the Strait of Hormuz.

"That mission will be purely defensive in nature, aimed at restoring confidence for commercial shipping along this vital trade route.

"The pre-positioning of HMS Dragon is part of prudent planning that will ensure that the UK is ready, as part of a multinational coalition jointly led by the UK and France, to secure the strait, when conditions allow."

Macron responds to Iranian threat to British and French warships

President Emmanuel Macron has said he never envisaged a naval deployment in the Strait of Hormuz, French media report.

Speaking at a news conference during a visit to Nairobi, Kenya, he said the plan would instead be a security mission "coordinated with Iran".

He added that France and the UK have built an ad hoc mission that brings together around 50 countries and international organisations to support maritime security.

It all just shows how he remains convinced the problem is fundamentally one of comms, and in particular that he hasn't been able to articulate his "values" and THAT'S why people don't support him. It has nothing to do with his and his party's disastrous and wretchedly unpopular policies. It's an odd combination of extremely arrogant and delusional.

Labour thinks he’s the answer to all their problems because he speaks with a northern accent and can more convincingly pose as an Everyman, despite being Cambridge-educated and having an aristocratic wife. He’s only popular at the moment because his current job mostly involves posing for photographs with refurbished buses and doing cushy interviews with the Manchester Evening News. If/when he becomes PM, he’ll face the same problems as Starmer and also end up unpopular.

Phillips is such a two faced nigger. Also what people don't realise (or don't want to) is that as technology has improved the size needed for a diaspora to be "semi autonomous" has rapidly decreased. Now they can basically come by themselves and always be on Whatsapp and other communication platforms with the motherland and never have to even pretend to engage with their local surroundings. Integration is such a non functional meme, that that we'd actually even want them to really try.

This as well. The vast majority of the country is simply not engaged politically. Ask anyone on the street when the last time they watched a speech by a politician was, they'd have to scratch their head and dig deep in their memories. Nobody watches them because they already know the content broadly speaking. Actually watching the comms wank that comes out of Downing Street is for autistic political obsessives, journalists (to distill and write headlines for the average person to ingest) and other political apparatchiks. The remaining 99% of the population won't even know a speech is happening.

Not to mention that holy christ the average politician is a fucking long way off from being Cicero. Barely coherent at the best of times. Personality of a VAT return. Charisma of a Dignitas tour guide.

>>534863967
There's usually some theatrics in war, but to say it's purely theatrics is wrong for the simple fact that the world energy system is missing over 10% of its oil and lng per day at a minimum. Something has to be done about that even if they will fail. Right now, there's a buffer from the steady stream of energy shipments that left the Hormuz strait before the war started and took time to arrive at destination, the IEA release of 400 million barrels from their strategic reserves, and the use of other global strategic reserves. Those reserves are being cained off at roughly 5 million barrels per day. Soon they will run critically low. Soon exporters like the United States will have to impose export restrictions, before stopping most exports altogether.

They have to get the strait open, dead empires or not. They have to try, whether it's possible to succeed or not. We'll see how far they're willing to take it, but they will have to try to go for it if Iran won't open the strait any other way, which they probably won't (for us).

It will also act as a base camp for my fiercely loyal partisan faction to carry out raids against the colonist regime forces and their settlers.

They themselves can say they're not going to do anything until the war's over all they want. Even if that's true, which it isn't, their very presence there will start the fighting again because they're not welcome. The UK has said it's not involved in the war in Iran, but the RAF have been flying missions since February 28th shooting down missiles and drones all over the middle east. They are involved already.

You also were not able to address the fact that no matter what anyone says they have to do something to get the strait open because we're missing a big percentage of energy from the world system that can't be replaced. They have to go in if Iran won't agree to open it for everything, or ours, theirs and your country will break down and collapse. It's an existential threat of the west's own making. But they can't just undo it now.

Britroaches chose to use the last ten years importing infinity jeets and Africans, covering up the activities of grooming gangs, implementing Sharia law in most urban centers, demonizing the native British identity and making Adolescence on Netflix, all the while stuffing their fat fuck faces with Greggs sausage rolls. Muslims and africans now are calling it "Rape Britain" on social media and pretty much laughing about collecting thousands of dollars, free houses, and vehicles to pretty much just walk around and see what can be harassed, raped and all while being high and drunk. Rupert Lowe's inquiry has revealed that not only is the entire UK state apparatus, including local government, judiciary, CPS, BBC and law enforcement working with the Paki grooming gangs, virtually every British adult above the age of 20 - including those posting here - is complicit. There isn't a single Britroach alive who isn't a rape apologist nonce who supported and defended the Pakis, and are still actively doing so

I have come to the understanding that the British view of lower class kids getting raped by foreigners is “that’s what they deserve for having the nerve to be born low class”. It is an entire country of Owen Joneses. Brits are perfectly fine with child rape. Its why they got Starmer into office. A man who defended child rapists as the director of public prosecution for many years. Brits are all pedos or at the very least, cowards, equally bad. Imagine watching a gang rape in progress and doing nothing, even if said victim is your daughter. Thats what brits do. You can't spell "cuck" without the UK. It’s rare I’ve ever felt such visceral disgust and hatred in my life

You raise a fair point. I will be very surprised if they do that though, because it would be a catastrophic blow to the image of American military power that they cannot afford. The Israel lobby is also incredibly powerful in America. They've got their hooks in everywhere. America should just say "lol, whoops. Sorry you're own your own" and leave them to it, but it's not likely. Iran has been on the cards for a long time. It was part of the plan back in the Afghanistan and Iraq wars at the turn of the century. Now there's the Chinese geostrategic dimension. If they up and walk away, which you're right they theoretically could, I'd be very surprised by it.

Right to Buy only worked for a specific generation that were renting in post-war housing stock since the 1950s. They all got a discount and bought their council house cheap, but we never replaced the social housing stock and stopped building council homes. Long term it was a terrible idea because now most houses are completely out of reach for millions to get on the housing ladder and theres very little social housing remaining

I more or less agree. But that was as true before February 28th as it is now. They still started the war. Iran closed the strait and destroyed or damaged actually quite a big part of GCC energy sites straight away. By your logic, none of that would ever have happened. But it did happen.

All those politicians have already lost the elections and Macron is at the end anyway. It doesn't matter. If countries break down because there's not enough energy to run them, which is what will start to happen very soon, of course that negatively impacts them.

Nobody is saying that it's likely that the seppo's grow a braincell and a backbone and simply pack it in but it's literally the only way this situation gets solved. No ceasefire or treaty is going to hold and any full military push is going to be laughably bloody. So everyone is going to sit around like spastics staring at each other while lobbing missiles which, as the Iranians simply have to not lose, means they win by default. Truly the winning move was not to play but something something the holly.

Exactly. Lets also extend that. If labour and the conservatives actually tackled a long list of issues plaguing everyones lives, they'd end reform, lib dem, green, and whoever else.

I don't know what it is. They can't be this stupid surely. So it can only be a front, an attempt at manipulation. Politicians might lie, a lot. But life doesnt lie. People have had enough. I don't think politicians understand the bullshit doesnt cut it anymore, people see through it and want fundamental change. People want and are waiting for change and action. I don't know why labour and the conservatives have such difficulty wrangling with that. Accept it, and more importantly do something about it. Don't feed people a lot of horse shit, shill your own belief, lie, and put yourself before everyone else. Do what the fucking majority want. Don't do the complete opposite, don't fail to do what you claim you'll do. Say what you'll do and fucking deliver on it.

Imagine the country being in the state it is. Imagine desperately clinging to your job by any means. Failing in every way. Plaguing everyones lives. Making the country even worse. Then taking to the stage to talk about hope and his out of touch beliefs. Its surreal. I can't believe its happening really

The public hates him and voted in the local elections to send a message. And all he says to address those concerns is "yeah, okay I hear you, but I'm doubling down and staying". so the fact that even when the party in power changes and these laws are still untouched tell you everything

it was allowed to happen, new prime minister or party comes in after saying 'well that was a disaster' but does nothing to undo what has just happened, even though they could

they just act like that's done, in the past, and wait for the next order... and so it goes on, step by step

that would be good, a light dusting for now, but at least hand pick the big bits already there first lad... you'll regret it later if you dont

they'll need to come out eventually, most won't just sink down and bury themselves and will take clumps of grass with it when the mower pulls them up, or just delay grass growing so when you run a mow over, the grass won'f be as thick

Jew are not also the ones who argue semantics with god christ fag.
Christfags also pick and choose what parts they follow and what parts to throw away, when it loses them an argument.
Hail Odin.

Would using a rake to smash the big buts up be alright? Never planted grass before. Just want a nice bit of grass to chill out on and eat me strawberries in summer.

>Germany leads the EU anyway

Not the same is it. Firstly, modern Germany isn't rounding up Jews and other minorities into death camps. Secondly, Germany does not have total control over the EU. Germany only has 13% of the seats in the European Parliament.

I can't believe political parties still use podium slogans. It's just Bernay's propaganda and completely outdated. There's probably a department employed to come up with catchphrases. I just couldn't imagine anybody falling for this tripe.

EU and UK have to fight Islam from inside now which still possible given whites didn't want that shit. Russians were already defeated by it in battle and have accepted their fate.

The daft cunt didn't know his mic was still live. I think he arranged a private meeting with the ''bigoted woman'' to apologise. What it did show, though, was how the Labour Party detest (and are embarrassed of) the working-class.

Brits are confused. They support Iran jihad but want the jihad to stop in their homes. Jihad isn't a local thing bros.
