Possessing something irreplaceable is the greatest blessing.

For rarity and uniqueness assign the highest value to anything, whether it be a person or an object.

US still supported Taiwan back when it was a military dictatorship under martial law too, the whole chip/tsmc argument is just midwit reddit view. Taiwan’s importance is its position in the first island chain, whoever controls Taiwan controls the entire maritime trade in east asia, it’s the reason why Japan took Taiwan as the first thing after the first Sino-Japanese war. If China gain Taiwan the USN will lose its naval supremacy in east asia
>>
Taiwan is still a part of China no matter how you look at it. It is the same idea that Hawaii should be its own country or that California should separate from the US. Its just nonsense.
Hopefully China and Taiwan will be able to look around the world and see the other fuck ups being done and come to some sort of agreement that benifit them both. It could be as simple as Taiwan accepting being a part of China as they are, and China accepting them to run things the way they do since they are aleady doing well on that island.
Hong Kong is a part of China, and while there are stricter laws and regulations, the place is doing very well.
>>
>>535214395
The argument is still the same. The United States wants to control Taiwan for matters of economic hegemony on the other side of the planet while dressing it up as a moral cause for democracy, liberalism and human rights. If Taiwan was an independent nation but still decided to close off trade to the US for whatever reason they would get bombed too.

No, the geographic location of the island is critical to control the pacific shipping routes and box in China. So yeah, it is about freedom, free trade and democracy.

The United States could have simply taken Taiwan like we took Okinawa at the end of WW2. Instead we facilitated the handover of Taiwan from Japan to China in 1945. The U.S. Navy and military personnel escorted Chinese officials and troops to Taiwan to secure the island and process the Japanese surrender,

The reality is that all of this unfolded very accidentally. There was no grand plan or strategy. A bunch of mistakes just happened and this is how things ultimately ended up.

We handed Taiwan over because ROC was our ally at the time, we didn’t expect Chiang to job that hard against the communists

The US at the time was not even really thinking about Taiwan much at all. George H Kerr who facilitated the transfer of Taiwan wrote a book about it and basically the US had a million other pressing concerns at the time that it was worried about in the immediate aftermath of WW2.

Chiang had wanted Taiwan and Okinawa and the US had agreed to give him Taiwan. That should have been the end of it from the US perspective. It should have just been just fully annexed into China as another province and then forgotten about.

Everything that followed was completely unplanned. The ROC completely fucked up in both Taiwan and China. Major uprising in Taiwan in 1947 resulting in a brutal crackdown and martial law and the island becoming a military dictatorship and the ROC ended up losing the mainland in 1949. The US decided to protect Chiang’s government in exile in Taiwan after the Korean War broke out.

There was no grand plan or strategy about island chains or democracy and certainly not chips. Things just randomly happened to unfold this way.

Taiwan somewhat demonstrates that an ethnic Han society can operate as a liberal democracy. This gives the CCP the ick.

This whole thing is fucking stupid. Why did everyone decide to centralize global microchip production to some tiny unrecognized "country" on the other side of the earth where the rest of china has never for 80 years backed off on wanting to conquer it?

China deserves to take over of taiwan and crash the microchip market just because of how dumb the goycattle were to do this

No. I actually want the chips to be produced here in my country.
But Taiwan is a beautiful country with the highest mountains in east asia always close to a beach.
Nice chill people beautiful nature and awesome food.
It’s a democracy, sovereign nation and was never part of china and never will be part of china.

In case china tried war to illegally annex Taiwan, there would be a sea blockade of china. China has only a couple of days of oil reserves. A sea blocke against china would quickly grind it to a halt.

I have a genuine moral belief that a people who live in a land should decide it's fate, and if a people don't want to be taken over by a much larger nation then they shouldn't be subjected to it.
But we will 100% betray them now that our oligarchs have kow tow'd.

China also has the second highest consumption of oil in the world. China would run dry in about 60 days.

>China also has the second highest consumption of oil in the world. China would run dry in about 60 days.

That's because China is producing all the stuff you use and your "democratic" kike ruled epsteinistans need for their daily operation.

If you "blockade" China, China has no reason to produce that for you anymore and their reserves will last for at least a decade or more due to their electricity needs being fulfilled by renewables and only needing petroleum for chemical industries (China's own oil-fields would be more than enough for that). China was a net-oil exporter until the 90s with more oil than at least medium-sized arab nations, which is why they have such a developed refining industry in the first place.

>The most developed nations on this planet are all democratic.

They didnt became developed because of democracy. They did so during imperialism and being ruled by fascists. Taiwan itself only became modernized under KMT military dictatorship - and it is quickly declining ever since DPP gay rule began.
Just like how South Korea and Japan developed as well - under single-party rule.
>>
>>535222716
>China is producing all the stuff you use and your "democratic" kike ruled epsteinistans need
You arrogant chink, we don’t depend on china producing our shit. Everything you produce was invented in the west and production only moved to china because it was cheaper.
But a blockade of china would reverse that again.

>They didnt became developed because of democracy. They did so during imperialism and being ruled by fascists.
When was the USA ever fascist? They have been a democracy since 1787 and had all their growth after that. Germany became first world under different systems and communism was the worst of it.
>>
>>535212141
And?
>>
>>535214395
Yeah the chip things is an added bonus. Taiwan stops China from having any power projection. Its always been strategically important for that reason. They're fenced in by islands and controlled waters without access to the open ocean.

Even if it's non-violent, I'm trying to imagine what it would be like to lose for those young taiwanese who grew up knowing Taiwan as their country. The flag will be forced to changed and the PRC flag will fly by its side to remind them always. And inevitably more loud/rude mainlanders will be around with an extra chip on their shoulders. I dunno, it might get to some of them.

It’s not a perfect democracy with too much jewish influence and doesn’t represent the will of the people, but americans are still dumb enough to keep voting for them still.
