It’s hard to understand why some people still defend those actions to this day. The ordeal poles had to go through after the defeat of the Warsaw Uprising by the German forces was nothing short of pure barbarism amplified by Germans’ frustration with losing a war. They could not stand being defeated on the battlefield, so they effectively took their anger on defenseless civilians and did this in some of the most brutal ways possible. Not to mention that on top of that they basically razed the entirety of Warsaw to the ground even in spite of it having no tangible purpose. They simply destroyed a culturally important city out of sheer bitterness to teach defeated poles some kind of lesson and then immediately retreated from the rubble, so it had no practical purpose at all. This de facto throws out of the window any claims about Germans attempting to preserve European culture or people - the aftermath of Warsaw shows this isn't the case and they did not care one bit about the lives of the people they conquered, let alone their culture.
