The truth is, videogames were just fine when to play them was more of a spacial and social investment.The problem that no one has accurately recognised: LCD technology.CRT screen technology should have been mandated to continue and stay as the main screen technology.To use a computer, a videogame console, a workstation/to be at work meant you needed 2 men to lift a heavy as fuck screen into a space.That thing was heavy/bulky and took up room and demanded it's own space. A screen couldn't be placed in each person in the households pocket.So the kids would park their butts infront of the big CRT and play some games for a finite amount of time and then it was dinner and off to bed. The worker had to go to an office and sit infront of the big CRT, get his work done effectively in that day and then go home, work was now over, it didn't travel home with him in his pocket and keep stressing him out.Steve Jobs killed society, but arguably it was the implementation of LCD/flat/thin screen tech that did this. There is still time to fix this.CRT technology is still the best screen technology, it offers the best picture, colour, contrast etc. The higher power costs also force less of them to exist:Only 1 computer in the home again, and people have to take turns to use it. Just like it used to be.Consoles that kids have to share, play cooperatively split screen with, take turns to use it. Timmy and Jonny and Sammy don't each get to have their own TV in their own bedroom and play remotely over the internet away from each other.If the UN wants to do some actual good, it has to slam down on tech and phones with screens in them, laptops, tablets etc are outright banned. Only the military, library, hospitals should be allowed LCD tech.
