The biggest problem most of them have is their roofs suck at ventilating heat. In America, we have effective ridge or gable vents and soffit vents that vent rising heat and suck in cool air. When they have vents they’re not installed properly so they don’t ventilate heat well. These European houses also have no shade. In America, you commonly see porch overhangs, shade trees out front. All this stuff is to block the sun from baking the inside of the house. In Europe, they just erect a big square brick in the middle of a giant pea gravel pad and then wonder why it turns into an oven in direct sunlight.
