You literally don't care about the movie as an entertainment product, you care about "the message". For a Uwe Boll film, it lacked a certain crass humour. With the exception of the SWAT-slaying scene (incidentally, do we even have men in SWAT uniforms in Europe?) there wasn't a single funny scene in the film, although I did find it amusing that the final rapist-slaying scene proceeded in 4 separate bouts of murder, seeming to go on forever as more and more of the rapists showed up at the flat. Why didn't Uwe just have them all turn up at once and die in a single scene? Perhaps he was relishing in the death, and wanted it to continue for longer. Perhaps, then, this was Boll's attempt at a more serious film, better served without humour. Though we are then left asking why the SWAT-slaying scene was left in.I found the film boring in parts. As a propaganda piece it may prove to break barriers in the normalisation of rightwing, ethnonationalist discourse in popular media. A criticism here is that rightwing counter-culture propaganda works best when it is laced in mockery and irony. Heavy, overly-dramatic diatribes about the need to embrace a warrior spirit or a past self can be much less effective than an edit of Hitler in a pink uniform dancing to an anime OP.
