Most POWs do go back because they are retards and miss their families, but you can wait out the entire war in a Ukrainian POW camp if you really want to. That's what 99% of Russians vanned in October will be doing. The hard part is getting captured by Ukrainian soldiers without your friends or commander seeing you surrender and fragging you out of spite. Your best bet would probably be to message Ukies beforehand and let them know you want to surrender, or flag a Ukie drone for help and make a run for the nearest Ukrainian position
