it's revisionism. the main problem with shartyfags is that they're unfunny losers. /b/ was actually pretty lulzy like 20 years ago but pretty much died with the creation of [s4s] along with the rest of the site when m00t left.

It had nothing to do with being a contrarian something or other. I opted out around 2008 from /b/ because there was so much CP it became impossible to be there, and on top of that, the culture of posting OC was almost entirely dead. And now, it is dead for sure. No one makes memes or jokes anymore. 100% of the YLYL threads is reposted shit they found elsewhere. The OP pic is exaggerating, as I said, but the bits about IRC is entirely true. I have sat and watched mIRC groups organize lulz and then to go /b/ to post their plan and then /b/ sort of played simon says after the instigators proved it works. And now it doesn't anymore.
