I bought a Haring career-spanning monograph published by Rizzoli, and it's filled with thousands upon thousands of penises (intentional), even the figures are meant to resemble penises, but what's even more striking is the use of figures posed in contorted ways very similar to Jeffery Dahmer's victims (notably the famed male bent backwards). Also, there are babies and small people all throughout arranged in very compromising positions (sodomized, forced oral, cannibalized, ripped from wombs, etc.) relative to much larger/dominant figures. There's beastiality too, but you combine the above mentioned, represented over and over with Haring's ties to children's hospitals, foundations and child-oriented community outreach programs plus affiliations with other hardcore pedophile NY scenesters and one can assume that the question posed is not illogical. This is a very different artist than the one the world remembers, very sinister and overtly occult, boy love symbology and all, much more brutal and notable than the Kim Noble Comet Pingpong stuff.
