Kurt bros we lost
>>
this autist is out of his fucking mind
>>

TNA never drew above 5,000, or a buyrate of 100k. The max crowd they could draw was 3,000-4,500. So Dave is right, Kurt was never a star. Neither was Styles or Joe
>>
>>14383037
>>
AEW's biggest buyrate ever was headlined by Kenny Omega vs. TNA Original Christian Cage
>>
I some of want whatever this fuckwit is smoking.
>>
>>14383071
Nobody knows who Kenny Omega is. Until Punk joined, he was their only star & face of the company. All success goes to him
>>
>>14383071
>TNA's best paid attendance was 6700. AEW's average attendance in 2019 was 6000 and had 74,500 people in line in 30 minutes waiting for All Out - MeltzerWON

TNA back then was more popular than AEW will ever be

TV ratings wise sure, attendance and PPV buys no.

We don't know AEW buyrates, we only know that Tony, who has every reason to say they that they're great, says they're great.
And one of the reasons TNA was able to secure so many household names was because they ran out of a studio that most of them lived 20 minutes away from, so they secured those TV ratings by opting out selling tickets.
>>
>>14383195
Cope
>>
TNA didn't buy their own tickets, and AEW has no actual proven source for buyrates. TNA also ran for years at a profit. Meltzer claims buyrates but was also proven wrong about Wembley ticket sales. TNA never lost over 35m in one year of operation. AEW had over 1k supposedly sold tickets disappear about a week ago. They also have 750-1k tickets mysteriously move during the middle of the night before shows. Collision taping in Montreal had nowhere near as many fans as the ticket reports suggested.

Were really expected to believe that every aew ppv is over 100k buys?
Their average viewership is 700-800k, so 1 in every 7 or 8 viewers is supposedly buying every aew ppv?
>>
>>14383155
>>14383128
How come AEW doesn't do house shows?
>>
>>14383217
TNA used to give free tickets to tourists fill their shows the fuck you talking about?

>>
>>14383234
Cue the schizo theories
>>
>>14383037
TNA came during a time when WWE was just starting to get worse but still hadn't pissed off the fans completely yet. AEW came at a time when feelings toward WWE was at an all time low and Tony came granting all the wishes of the smarks. AEW should have beaten WWE, they had all the opportunity in the world and an infinite piggybank to buy the best roster in wrestling and they still failed to capitalize and now are basically irrelevant while WWE is hotter than ever. Dave once again is being either being purposely disingenuous or is just too autistic to realize it
>>
>>14383260
>Doesn’t count
Cope, WWE’s monopoly over wrestling now is far worse than it was. Zoomers and normies grow up only knowing WWE, it’s far harder to draw today
>>
>>14383234
I'm pretty sure the ppv buys are global numbers while TV ratings are domestic. Now if you asked Tony for his domestic ppv buys or to provide a breakdown of sales per region then you might be able to find out
>>
>>14383248
They tried, it failed miserably because no one on the top of the card wanted to show up
>>
>>14383303
How come TNA, a company that apparently didn't draw as well as AEW does, were running house show for years and did multiple overseas tours?

I use to go see AEW PPVs in theaters before they lost their contract. Counting me and my friends there couldn't have been 20 people in the entire theater. And every time at least 2 people were there as handlers for shoot special needs individuals who probably got in free.
>>
>>14383339
Because the TNA roster had wrestlers in it. AEW is full of indie guys who never saw wrestling as anything more than a hobbie and just happened to stumble dick first into the son of a billionaire.
>>
>>14383000
this old fart be bubblin’
>>
>>14383339
TNA ran Wembley Arena, not Wembley. And that was only when they had Hogan. They also ran very small venues for their other tours, usually ones that indie shows like RoH ran in during their tours.

They did house shows because they didn't tour. They recorded their TV back to back. When they did tour, they flopped extremely hard. AEW has two shows a week and they're shot for TV. There is no reason to do house shows unless the demand is there.

>There is no reason to do house shows unless the demand is there.
LOL, they NEED to be doing house shows because their extremely green roster is in desperate need of experience.
>>
>>14383367
Like TNA wasn’t also founded by a rich billionaire
>>
>>14383406
>There is no reason to do house shows unless the demand is there.
Ouch, freakazoids won't like this!
So there was demand for TNA in fucking Ireland but no demand for AEW in US? How does that work?
>>
>>14383288
And how does Meltzer have a source for every PPV provider worldwide when he can't get any other actual info about anything, and why are buyrates always so similar despite huge changes in attendance and viewership?
He was caught spreading bs about AAA ratings, AEW attendance, etc. The numbers he gets are from Tony and are not reliable.
>>14383250
But they didn't buy them themselves, aka lose money for their own image. TNA made a profit until halfway through the Dixie Era. TNA made money with a lower budget, AEW loses money with a way higher budget. So how is AEW more successful as a business?
>>
>>14383441
Damn Jerry Jarrett must have made some good investments.
Listen, mark, don't talk about stuff you clearly know nothing about, it's not going to end well for you.

>>
>>14383451
>there was demand for TNA in fucking Ireland but no demand for AEW in US
there is demand for AEW in the US, which is why they can tour and do live TV broadcasts and tapings in different arenas.

TNA didn't do this, the one time they did it was a disaster. which is why they had to do house shows in front of 500 people.
>>
>>14383406
House shows are extra reps, and while injuries happen house shows are where talent get familiar with the people they’re working programs with. AEW doesn’t do house shows but they were built on you can work other places while under contract with AEW for reps, and like 95% of the roster doesn’t work anywhere else.
>>
>>14383458
But they did buy it themselves and then GAVE THOSE TICKETS OUT FOR FREE with a free drink and a hotdog.
>>
>>14383535
Papering tickets doesn't cost money, if they gave a dog and Doctor Pepper away then that probably cost money. Point is that TNA had a business structured to make money for many years, which is how they kept running until Dixie started overspending. TNA was ran until then with the money TNA made. AEW has never accomplished this.
>>
>>14383507
Say what you want about their weekly TV, but AEW consistently puts on some top tier wrestling on PPV. Their PPVs are the only wrestling I watch and enjoy these days, though I do admit to fast forwarding through the ones I don't fancy.
>>
>>14383507
>and like 95% of the roster doesn’t work anywhere else
For some of them it is for sure laziness and thinking they've mastered their craft because they can do all their trampoline moves.
But there are probably AEW guys who want to pick up indie dates and can't because the promoters don't want to deal with Tony Khan's demand of getting to write any segment is wrestlers are invovled in.
>>
>>14383574
Like AEW, TNA was never a public company - so it is pretty weird to make this statement. It's all guess work.

Other than no commercials and the show being 3 times as long, there no difference between the wrestling on an AEW PPV and Dynamite.
>>

>there is demand for AEW in the US
No there's not. If there was a demand then AEW would ran house shows.
>tour
running 3 smark hotbeads is not touring, and those are drying up as well
every AEW weekly show in run at a loss seeing how they only sell quarter of each venue

>7) 7,000 - Bully Ray vs. Jeff Hardy
>8) 6,100 - Chris Jericho vs Scorpio Sky
>9) 6,000 - Jericho and Sammy vs Hangman / Dustin
>10) 6,000 - Jon Moxley vs. Pac
>11) 6,000 - Team Angle vs Team Cage
