He took wrestling, formed a de facto monopoly and the main result of that was it made wrestling less popular overall. His success isn’t good booking or memorable characters - it’s simply being an aggressive businessman, capitalizing on trends and hiring guys who were already stars. His company has been coasting on the success it had several decades ago. Plus he’s a degenerate BBC lover and a legitimately awful man.

What no fuck off for all his insane faults he's still the reason anyone under 50 even got into wrestling
>>

People might say Tony Khan or Eric Bischoff are worse but the actual WOAT of all the notable wrestling promoters is Fritz Von Erich

Do you know your history? The territory years had more wrestlers, more wrestling fans, more shows and more overall money being spent. After Vince formed a monopoly, a lot of those fans just stopped watching or going to shows. Sure you had one HUGE company but overall the industry was smaller now.

Taking wrestling out of the bingo halls was the best thing Vince ever did.

>Wrestling was better back in muh day when "Big" Billy Bob was fighting "The Cousinfucker" Ed Johnson at the local Alabama bingo hall

Go to bed, Cornette

here's a picture of a nobody defending a nothing title in a bingo hall less than a year before mania 1 saved the business

That’s a big bingo hall

Here's the same show 3 years later when they're not milking some dead guy for sympathy and pity tickets

did you even fucking read the second half of my post
the territories died 40 YEARS AGO
>>
>>16272872
yeah but you're judging them by their biggest shows not their usual ones
not saying they were all flea market shows but vince was running the garden and shit and the average regional tv show looked like cheap shit in front of 20 people, and the average regional spot show was in front of 20 people
>>
Lmao at all of you faggots that take Jim's opinion. No one on this board would be a fan of wrestling if it weren't for Vince, this board wouldn't even exist. Nobody thinks of wrestling as the days of Ed Lewis and whatever other fucking fossils died on the titanic

Ah, who could've forgot about how MASSIVE the likes of Flex Kavana, Stunning Steve and Terry Bollea were when evil Vince "Voldemort" Mcmahon took them! Gtfoh Tony, you will never be one of the boys, AEW is hot trash and will never take off lol.

>Terry Bollea
Ah yes, that hidden gem of a talent that was in Rocky 3
>>
>>16273032
Okay, you can make the statement of Hogan being a superstar pre-Vince, but it took the WWF to make both Austin and Rock big names.
>>
>>16273061
It's still disingenuous because Vince took him from AWA heel star and guy who had a memorable small part in Rocky 3 to mainstream cultural icon
