It was a fun show. Similar to last year's in terms of match style, a mix of 2000s throwbacks and comedy stuff. The general air of this show was much more lighthearted, though. Takayama on commentary, no heartbreaking promo to end the show. It was fun, and I bet if you like Takayama or any of his contemporaries you'd like it.

Thank you! It's shame our board doesn't allow sound because this is one of the LOUDEST striking matches I've ever heard. I love shoot-style wrestling and this more than any other match made me wonder how much was actually a work. I don't think I've ever seen two workers hit with so much vitriol and animosity before. I wonder what their relationship was like. I did a brief Google search but didn't find if there was any real heat.

There's a bit of my thoughts spread across the thread, but out of the three matches I watched, Imanari was the central focus in two out of three, and I just wasn't very impressed with him. He was the thing I was primarily aware of from GanPro going in, so that colored my impression quite a bit. I still like Abe and Mochi, so I had fun watching, but this tag match really stole the spotlight. It features two of my favorite current shoot stylists, a guy I kinda like and a rookie who just plays a punching bag. It's a winning concept.

Fair enough, glad you liked some of it at least. Imanari is a weird case for me, I don't find him to be a particularly interesting wrestler. He doesn't really excel in any aspect, and I didn't really see the appeal or why he's pushed so hard at first... but there's something odd about him. The more I watch the more he seems like an ideal partner for such a wide variety of challengers, it's endearing in a way. He's not a 5-star general but he has some chemistry with everyone. There's no duds...

Hikaru Sato and Mizuki Watase are still my favorites. So needlessly violent.
