Modern professional wrestling and combat sports have lost all soul because corporate interests and PR concerns now dictate every aspect of the product. Stars are neutered, heels can't offend, matches are sanitized, and outcomes are engineered to protect the brand rather than tell compelling stories. Crowds are apathetic because the arenas are sterile, overproduced, and PG-safe, and fans no longer feel like part of the spectacle. Everyone is a "superstar," everyone wins sometimes, and nothing is larger than life - so no one truly matters.WWE and UFC alike refuse to let individual performers get bigger than the company (for fear of defection), crushing charisma, personality, and cultural relevance. The result is a soulless, generic, risk-free product where nothing memorable happens, and the audience has long since stopped caring.
