Do you think he regrets staying in AEW?
>>
>>19606745
he's just happy to be here
>>
>>19606745
He re-signed for more money than WWE would have offered him, immediately got injured on purpose and has been sitting at home for a year collecting checks. Money and miles
>>
>>19606745
Nah but I think he's absolutely playing up the injury when he seen the creative direction he had for the year. Tony is too soft on his guys.
>>
>>19606818
I would have him jobbing to Max every week

Does anyone know where it all went wrong for him? I'm sure something of substance leaked out that I missed. I remember a brief stretch of time during his WWE run where he was booked strong on Smackdown each week, culminating in a clean win over post-WM30 Daniel Bryan that seemed to position him for real success. Then nothing happened with him. My hunch is that it was a combination of him failing to navigate through the backstage political waters and, above all else, the guy never seemed committed to getting better. He has a good roid dealer, slightly above average in-ring skills, and absolutely no charisma. His wife should have enough influence to get him signed back to WWE after he's done bilking the Shad Khan estate, but I don't think he deserves a roster spot anywhere.

he gave roman one of his best matches and mogged lanklet rollins
>>
>>19606928
in terms of fitting a product he 100% should just be in NJPW but they're broke
>>
>>19606940
Ah yes, I remember the Roman match now. That was also during his short push before the wheels fell off of his entire wrestling career. That was ages ago. His inability to really shine in the ring since then has me doubting that he carried Roman. I also stand by everything in your greentext unless you can cite anything else I'm forgetting or haven't seen.

>>19606952
That makes sense, but he'd have to put far more effort into an NJPW run than he has during this forgettable AEW tenure. It's the most frustrating thing about him.

was basically brock lesnar with kenny omega moveset in 205 live

Are we talking about Buddy Matthews, JD McDonagh, the Conan O'Brien looking mustache-man with the umbrella who got #MeToo'd, or some other cruiserweight sideshow? Pac/Neville was good on that show too, but Matthews would have to have possessed the sort of elite in-ring acumen that a smaller guy like Danielson has in order to belong in the WWE main event picture. If you think he was/is that good, I'd strongly disagree.

I don’t think anyone wants to see him in the main event. Hes just a good hand to have, has good to great matches and has a good look.
I can’t judge his mic skills because he doesn’t get any chance to talk which is something that’s more of a booking issue.

Tony gave him some, he's pretty mid.

nah his matches with okada and ospreay were based

We're basically in agreement then. I'm just curious to learn if anyone heard why he suddenly fell out of favor with the WWE office after his mini-push against main eventers. I don't think he ever recovered from that and his career hasn't gone anywhere since.

I remember Montez Ford getting a push just before the 2023 Elimination Chamber. It looked like he was on the verge of a singles run with a midcard title as a way to gauge fan reaction in advance of potentially pushing him even more. Then his push was halted, and he returned to being a tag-team wrestler exclusively. I didn't know why, but then an anon on /pw/ posted a plausible rumor that Montez fucked himself by trying to make the Chamber match his own personal coming out party, where he'd pitch high spot after high spot in the preparation for the match to make himself shine without showing much willingness to make anyone else look good. The other five guys in the match and the agents assigned to it were all allegedly so turned off by this that word spread until Montez's planned push was canned. Could be total headcannon, but it sounds plausible. I'm hoping a similar rumor got out to explain what happened to Buddy Murphy shortly after scoring that pinfall over Daniel Bryan.

I mean an in ring promo? Not 5 seconds of the okada staredown or him saying he loves ftr bald and burns the picture of his wife. An actual promo in the ring. He called Adam Cole a bitch and then lost to him when Cole came back in the ring to finish the match. That’s all I remember because he was just in the corner while
Malakai spoke.

he went on and won the tag belts with seth having a feud with the mysterios than was released during the pandemic
>>
>>19607224
Christ I forgot about that.
>>
>>19606745
he's another guy like malakai miro andrade etc., he's gonna be the same guy no matter where he goes no matter who is booking him. he should be happy to have a job.
