>1925 - Wayne Munn
Lost the title when Stanislaus Zybyszko went into business for himself and shot on him.
>1973 - Mario Galento or Jack Donovan
Mario Galento was beaten shitless by Jerry Jarrett (twice).
Dandy Jack Donovan was jumped by Jerry Jarrett, Tojo Yamamoto, and the rest of the Jarrett crew (twice) because they wanted Jack to go behind the booker's back and put Tojo over.
>1977 - Nick Gulas or George Gulas
Nick booking George as a top star was so KWABed all of his most loyal top talent split and started running against him.
>1982 - Vince McMahon Sr.
His son big leagued him out of his own fed with his own money.
>1983 - Verne Gagne or Jim Barnett
Verne lost Hogan and didn't even realize it. Jim got screwed out of Georgia Championship Wrestling by Ole.
>1984 - Ole Anderson or Ted Turner
Both screwed by Black Saturday.
>1986 - Magnum T.A.
Crippled by that car accident.
>1992 - the Sheik
Onita carnied 66 year old Sheik into a flaming barbed wire match that left him in a coma with third degree burns.

Thoughts? Opinions? Further info or alternate candidates?

Never, ever been Tony. However, it's always you, Pedotits.
>>
>>19645193
I've actually considered going back through the years and coming up with a fair and balanced list of candidates and doing a month long poll for each year. Could be fun. Console war trannies ruin everything though so who knows.

1992 was definitely not Sheik.

I've thought about doing something similar. I'd probably go on consensus because polls are fucked.

I made a 90's list when the site went down last year and I was binge watching old shows due to boredom.
>90 - AWA/Verne Gagne
Goes out of business in you're path
>91 - Ultimate Warrior
Massive push is an overall flop as gates and buyrates go down substantially. Title is taken off him and switched back to Hogan again. Works himself into a shoot over jobbing and pay and is eventually fired
>93 - Vince McMahon
Business and reputation tanks as scandals and lawsuits destroy all his good PR. Hogan leaves, Luger flops, and WWF is running high school gyms by the end of the year.
>94 - Mick Foley
Gets massive heat with WCW office (who already didn't like him) by spitting on his title belt. Got massivly depushed. Loses ear in a untelevised shitty euro show. Get fired and is forced into outlaw mud show death matches to pay the bills
>95 - Shane Douglas
Bullied and mocked by the entire WWF locker room for being a self mark shitter. Horrible Dean Douglas gimmick. Buried instantly in his only title "win" Crawls back to ECW and is massacred by the fans.
>96 - Shawn Michaels
Complete flop as WWF champion. Ratings and buyrates tank. Awful matches with Bulldog and Vader. Drug addiction accelerated due to stress and begins spiraling. Posed for a gay magazine.
>97 - Bret Hart
Do I really need to explain?
>98 - Dr Death Steve Williams
Worked JR so hard into thinking he was the meanest SOB in the world that they held shoot fight gimmick matches to get him over. Got knocked out by a tag team jobber and tore up his knee because of it, which lead to the increasingly serious drug addiction that killed him
>99 - Vince Russo
Brought into WCW to save a cratering product. Got heat with almost everyone backstage instantly. Horrendous TV shows and absurd storylines and swerves. Got fired less than 4 months after taking over.
>>

>>
>>19645193
>>1982 - Vince McMahon Sr.
>His son big leagued him out of his own fed with his own money.
Pretty sure Vince Sr had cancer and was getting out of the industry, he even negotiated a very favourable sweetheart deal for Vince Jr. where he would buy the territory for some million but could use the money generated from the promotion (such as ticket revenue) to pay for it.
The whole 'Vince Jr. was such a great businessman he screwed his old out of date father out of the wrestling industry' is just a lie that WWE perpetuates.

Tony was alive so it was him for every year

Other candidates

>1994 - Yoji Anjo - Ex-sumo and overall fake tough guy that thought he was more of an MMA badass than he really was. As part of a promotional stunt for UWFi he travelled to California with a huge Japanese press entourage to challenge Rickson Gracie and storm his dojo. He ended up getting the Jap shit kicked out of him in front of everyone and destroyed his reputation and seriously damaged UWFi's rep as being tough and legit.

>1995 - The Renegade - Ultimate Warrior ripoff that flops badly and the guy who wrestled under the gimmick is so green that he can't even be carried by Arn Anderson to a decent match. Gets a big push with lots of squash matches and wins the world tv title, but doesn't get over because he's a bad impersonation of another more famous wrestler and his matches were awful. Push dies around late September and he gets squashed by Orndorff before being buried by Jimmy Hart who killed his gimmick dead.

>1997 - Takashi Matsunaga - Owner of AJW with his brother (but Takashi was more involved) AJW went bankrupt in 1997 due to bad investments and lost almost all of their main eventers, their dojo, their building which housed their office, the wrestler dormitories, training area, a garage space which could put on small shows, a restaurant and their television slot.

It's still insane to me that Verne stuck to his guns and never put the title on Hogan. I guess hindsight is 20/20, but still, I can't think of a decision with larger ramifications in wrasslin history. Would Hogan have stayed with AWA if he got the title? I've heard that Vince would have gone after Dusty if Hogan turned him down, would Dusty have played along with Vince's takeover? Would Dustymania ever have gotten as big as Hogan?
>>
>>19645462
Bret is also a good candidate for 1999.
>>
>>19645462
Bart Gunn is whatever the opposite of KWABOTY is in 98. He got knocked out by Butterbean in 99 so he’s still good in 98
>>
>>19645717
Vince could've found 300 other roided up shitters and given them the same push and some cocaine
>>

>>

>MACHO MADNESS
But no, I don't think Hogan would have stayed in the AWA as champ, I think Vince would have offered him more than Verne would ever pay and Hogan and Verne already had their issues.
>>
2000 - Kevin Sullivan - put the guy who stole his wife over as world champion only for him to leave for New York the next day and vacate the title. Was so bad as booker than Bitchoff and Russo had to come back.

2001 - DDP - gave up guaranteed money as a show of good faith to the WWF only to get a retarded stalker gimmick where he had to pretend that he wanted to have sex with the Undertaker’s mannish wife.

2002 - Vince Russo - returned to the WWF for a cup of coffee and his ideas were so bad that they let him go to TNA for less money.

2005 - Eddie Guerrero - died like a bitch in a hotel room after his heart exploded from years of drug abuse.

2006 - RVD - got given the world title and was set up to be the face of the new ECW show, then got caught with pot and had to drop the belt to Big Show.

2007 - Woman - No explanation needed.
>>
>>19645193
>1950- Don Eagle
Double crossed by Gorgeous George in Chicago for the Boston version of the AWA World Title
>1966- Don Eagle
An heros on a Mohawk reservation in Canada
>>
>>19647119
Where is 2003 and 2004?
>>
>>19647119
i'd say 2001 has to be any of the ecw idiots who turned down guaranteed contracts with wcw years before because heyman worked them into being marks with fake contracts he would never honour, and then ecw folded and they were out of a fuckton of money.

also candido surely has to be kwaboty at some point in the 90s - a cuck and a guy who got fleeced by heyman so badly he had to sell his house

2003 - Booker T- for getting jobbed out at WrestleMania and working the blacks into a multi-decade long seethe.

2004 - Eddie Guerrero - Record low ratings and attendances as champion, got heckled by some hick in Nebraska at a show with only 600 people in attendance then begged WWE to take the belt off him.

1988 Bruiser Brody

1963 - Rikidozan for getting stabbed with a piss-covered dagger
1966 - Big Daddy for quitting wrestling for six years because Bert Assirati kept paying opponents to shoot on him in the ring

>>

>>1982 - Vince McMahon Sr.
>His son big leagued him out of his own fed with his own money.
Nice try meltzoid but this isn't even close to being true. Vince had to build his own name in the North-East as a promoter and he had to use his own money to buy it from Vince, Sr. who was planning on giving it to people who would fold it back into the NWA.
>>
>>19645462
>98 - Dr Death Steve Williams
Thats pretty high up there but my vote is for Michaels, who injured his back at Rumble 98 and had to retire for the entire companies peak run. I think it means a little more then Dr. Death since he had just won over Bret and pushed him out of the company and was one of the top guys in the company. Huge fall from grace.
>>
>>19649948
I will always believe that Michaels faked his back injury because he couldn't stand not being the no.1 star in the WWF (and as always trying to find an excuse not to do a job) and would have blown a gasket having to be subservient to Austin, Rock, Foley would have driven him insane. He got a great deal out of it - got paid to mostly stay at home for a couple of years because Vince didn't want him signing for WCW.
>>19649901
>Vince had to build his own name in the North-East as a promoter
Yeah because his dad gave him arenas and areas to run.
>he had to use his own money to buy it from Vince, Sr.
Completely untrue, he used the money from the WWF.
>who was planning on giving it to people who would fold it back into the NWA.
Except he ended up giving it to Vince Jr. with incredibly favourable terms, so he couldn't have been that intent on giving it back to the NWA.
>>
>>19650344
>Yeah because his dad gave him arenas and areas to run.
He wasn't a wrestling promoter, he was a concert and eventually an ice hockey promoter you disingenuous nerd.
>>
>>19645193
1982 was the year Shad Khan won the Tony Khan KWABOTY award because that's the year Tony was born.
>>
>>19649948
Bro that back injury was fake as hell lmao. He was doing backflips out of the ring on the first Smackdown episode and that was only like 16 months after he was "crippled"
>>
>>19650344
>>19650492
Under the circumstances faking a back injury is pretty KWAB.
>>
>>19650355
He was literally given the Bangor Maine territory to run by his dad.
You seriously need to stop watching WWE made documentaries and actually start reading some books.
