Savage wasn't originally intended to be in that 6-man tag match. it's just that Konnan's gf gave birth and he couldn't leave Mexico, so Savage ended up substituting in for Konnan.what caused heat between Savage and Scott was Savage wanted the match finish changed to Savage scoring the pinfall after he got done hitting his Flying Elbow Drop (top rope finisher) on Scott. That pissed Scott off, Scott took his anger out on Terry Taylor, who then tried to appease him by letting Scott do his many big moves at the end for saves before being told to job to Savage. needless to say, Scott Steiner was still pissed off, even after everything.
nobody even remembers that Savage and Scott Steiner had issues with each other around Starrcade 1997. that's probably why Savage didn't want to work with Scott for the rest of their time in WCW from Starrcade 97 onward.
