Can someone explain to me why Shane Douglas got pushed as hard as he did?

He's like a weaker version of Jeff Jarrett (who's a weaker version of Triple H without the workrate, look, or charisma).

Were the Kliq right in burying him?

Shane Douglas got pushed?

Cause he was the franchise.

He was 10x the talker Jarrett or HHH were. Great in-ring competitor too, he brought legitimacy to ECW with his more traditional style.

Yes, he was in featured feuds on PPV all through 2000, like with Kidman and Flair. They also gave him Torrie Wilson as his valet.

This image doesnt do him just during his roid peak

Anon I’m not sure you know what a push is. You’re legit the first person I’ve ever heard ask this or imply Shane Douglas was pushed in WCW. He was basically high end enhancement talent. He still had some cachet from being ECW champ so he was useful to be a jobber to the stars on occasion. Plus he’s a steady hand and above average on the mic, a decent time filler. For every 1 time he wrestled Ric Flair he wrestled David a dozen, and Crobar and Reno. Fucking Kwee-Wee, Road Dogg’s brother with the Teemu gimmick. A bunch of power plant guys. Torrie was a no one at the time, she was with him to get seasoned and basically be Francine. He definitely wasn’t pushed but if you saw him get a lot of screen time in 2000 consider the context and what I mentioned.

He was a star in ECW, and 2000s WCW was oddly obsessed with internet marks so they thought their familiarity could draw, and he could talk.

Kek, is that you, Paul?

I listen to about every Paul London interview that gets put out and he often raves about Shane Douglas and that he was a massive fan and that Shane was an inspiration to him.

He did the grind, cleaned up the toy aisle and boosted sales on check out aisle Pokemon cards. He earned a run with the strap

You know he was a district manager making like 150k a year in mid 00s money. Good pay for not bumping and peptalking wagies
>>
He had a good look, he could wrestle and eventually, he could really talk.

He hasn't had a great match since 1994, and it still took two other guys!
>>
>>19878125
You really think 2000 HHH didn't have a good look or could work?
>>
>>19877922
There are a couple episodes of ECW hardcore tv that are basically just Shane talking about life and wrestling for like 20 minutes then one match and that's it
Great stuff, unironically

idk

>>19877922
Was he even that good outside of that one ECW promo when he trashed the NWA?

Watch his TV title defenses in 96. Shane was genuinely great until injuries fucked him up.
