i'm only 30 and my back starting to fucking hurt, must be from bad posture while sitting on the computer, it's all i do all day is sit on the computer so that has to be it. FUUUUUUUCK

what the hell is going on?
what do i do?
>>
lose weight (if any)
do crunches
>>

you get back pain from being a lard ass?
i did gain weight recently...
>>
>>82354721
push ups and barbell squats
>>

You still here OP?
I have arthritis, the autoimmune disease kind, and I'm almost 30 and I'm wondering if my back pain is arthritis levels or just 30 year old pain levels. Can you still sit all day long? Walk as long as you want for the most part, just with pain? I can only sit up for about 2 hours at a time before it becomes agony and I need to lay down for about an hour to recuperate. And walking I can only do like 10 - 15 minutes before I end up hunched over and it feels like there's a bunch of knives in my back. Surely that's not how bad your back feels, right? Not to belittle your pain, but I just feel a faker when I talk about how bad it is for me, so I'd like someone to compare to.

Yes. Lose weight and strengthen your core with crunches, squats, or deadlifts.
>>
>>82355012
This plus lat pulldowns or chinups to prevent or heal tight shoulders / upper back. Barbell squat is the main one to keep your back strong and pain free.
Just don't go crazy and also, make sure to stay hydrated while taking creatine. I used to tweak muscles all the time BC I was constantly dehydrated. Get yourself a large isolated flask or cup, put ice cubes in it to make plain water more delicious and refreshing.
>t.40yo with no back pain whatsoever

Back pain can have a ton of different causes...and different causes depending if its upper or lower back. Trying to find the root cause isn't always simple, its easier just to strengthen and stretch everything. Don't start off too hard, ease into it. If you sit a lot you probably have a weak core and weak glutes. Probably weak upper back muscles too like rhomboids and traps and rotator cuffs. You want to do pushing and pulling exercises but do more pulling exercises. Don't worry necessarily about having a straight back all the time, focus on strengthening the muscles that make it hard for you to naturally be straight, and make sure you move around a lot during the day and don't sit or stay in the same position too long. If you don't know where to start a good physio can do strength assessments and give you some exercises to do. Dry needling and massage are good complements to an exercise regime. Consistency over time is better than straining yourself too hard.

im mid thirties
i have absolutely zero back pain. i havent had back pain in well over 5 years
when i was 20 i used to have a lot of back pain

for me what changed was i just stopped eating meat and dairy. i used to eat lot of fried chicken (popeyes and chesters), pizza's, icecreams, chinese foods, etc
apparently dietary cholesterol can block arteries in the back, which causes a reduced bloodflow and pain

im not joking when i say i havent had pack pain in well over 5+ years. not even any, honest to god

these are just my anecdotes, but there is some evidence to suggest this isnt just a isolated anecdote from me

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vG44nMXpTrQ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ndqn2cQ1t5w

what i would recommend is just try not to eat any dietary fat and cholesterol for a month or two maybe, and see if it gets better or worse. if it gets better quite probably dietary

>you get back pain from being a lard ass?
yes obesity also causes back pain
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4V2KWMsVooA

i understand you probably arent very keen on hearing pro-vegan propaganda (hehe), but the links i posted do have scientific references on the website of the same name
and since you made a thread on the subject, i figured id chime in from the plant-based perspective
>>
>>82355665
no my back "pain" is a very mild discomfort if i try to sit straight and like accidentally arch my back, like if i overdo it when sitting up straight i feel the discomfort, so i'm assuming it's the start of something more serious manifesting.
really sucks that you have so many health problems anon, that really sucks man. hopefully someday soon they figure out a way to cure ya.

just do some pull ups. your back hurts because you have weak muscles that are straining to support you
>>
>>82358541
it's crunches that will strengthen the muscles that strain to support you, but pull ups help with restoring proper ROM/reducing resting tightness in your shoulders. I have a pull up bar that I like to just hang from and twist and swing around and every single time it feels like I'm fixing something
>>
>>82354728
>>82355672
>>82358569
Sit ups, not crunches. OP keep your back straight when you do sit ups. And make sure you do leg raises as well
>>
you have kidney stones
>>
>>82358636
he should get a cold plate or ideally an ashtray
>>
>>82355012
those don't train your back retard
go do rows
flexion rows specifically
>>
OP here
guys i can't afford a gym membership, i'm a NEET with no income and all my money from when i did have an income is in crypto so i have no money for a gym membership.

so you're saying pull ups will work? i have a gazebo i can hang from and do pull ups from, is that all i gotta do? i can't do any of the equipment exercises
>>
>>82358751
if you're untrained you will not be able to do even one pullup so it's useless
buy some adjustable dumbbells / barbell and do exercises at home.
bent over rows is all you need, then do pullups when you can do them properly
>>
>>82354721
if the issue really is from sitting. Then look up solutions onlines because there are lots of good and easy physical therapy exercises you can do at home for the lowerback that will provide almost instant relief.
>>
>>82354721
>what do i do?
my back and neck pain went away from low intensity cardio where your body gets really warm, that usually helps
>>
>>82358751
>>82358883
bar hangs are just as good if you can't do a full pull-up
>>
>>82358883
would calisthenics work?
like i said i have zero money.
>>
>>82358883
>>82358751
you don't need to be able to do one pull up. you can just jump up and then reverse negative or whatever it's called. Basically just jump up and slowly lower yourself as slow as you can. it will train your muscles to be able to do it
>>
>>82358916
calisthenics still needs gear to progress. like rings or a bar that hangs low so you can do inverse rows that get progressively harder
>>82358922
if you start from zero this is shit advice because you won't be able to hold on for even 5 seconds. if you're already strong but not good at pullups then sure. but you need to actually move your muscles in full range of motion to stimulate growth

i have the absolute worst posture of all time and had it for many years and not a moment of backpain the entire time because of my diet changes
i drew a picture to try to illustrate it. ai image models couldnt get it right so i had to do it myself

i didnt know it could get that bad. at my worst at like 20 id have painful spams lying in bed or moving about too much
>>
>>82354721
OP I'm struggling with the exact same issue. L4/L5/S1 herniated disc plus tear plus arthritis. Apparently all caused my decades of bad posture at the computer.

Here's the protocol I'm using to try to help it:
1. Cobra Pose 30 minutes each night minimum - lay in your bed in this pose and browse 4chan on your phone. Basically, we fucked our back by curving it forward, so you'll need to curve it the opposite direction aka Cobra Pose. Think about it, our spine curves forward for hours on end each day, so you need to curve it backwards hours as well (but it's uncomfortable so just start with 15 minutes at a time.) use a pillow for extra height on the curve.
2. Cissus and Glucosamine - two excellent supplements shown in studies to help the spine.
3. I probably need to buy an inversion chair to decompress the spine
4. Go to chiropractor weekly (not sure how much this helps though)
>>
>>82358718
they do? when doing push ups your belly shouldn't be resting on the floor and if you didn't use your back when carrying stuff on your shoulders you would fold like a card house

also think about who you are talking to instead of mindlessly regurgitating factoids kiddo
>>
>>82358751
do body weight stuff

>>82358883
>i can't afford to spend money
>LOL BRO BUY SOMETHING

>>

>pain in back of head
>always tired

Bros I feel like Im breaking down at mid 30s
>>

Brother I would start taking Coq10 and magnesium daily. It sounds like a heart issue.

Also OP I apologize for not seeing the "I have no money" comment before posting, in that case definitely do Cobra Pose twice a day 30 minutes each (or as long as you can tolerate, in the beginning it might only be five minutes, that's ok, be gentle) and then hang from your pullup bar as many times a day as you can (hanging will decompress your spine.)

If you get a little money you can buy Glocasmine from Dollar Tree but otherwise those stretches will definitely help.
