Yes and no. To take it more easy, I'll leave it at that. My vacation starts on Monday. I'm three wine bottles, two joints in. I fell asleep earlier and just woke up. Smoked another one, dranked another shot. Shit is easy as it can be.

Holy shit. Today is Sunday(almost forgot). I dont know now. Sleep mostly and then play a game. You ever play No mans sky on vr while high? I discovered a planed, named one and the animals on it and had fun making a spaceship. The game is boring unless high, but make a ship. Good shit.

There's also that Touhou MOTHER crossover game from like 15 years ago. I think that was probably my first exposure to 2hu.

The movie night should be in about 3 hours. There are a few options today so if you've got any preference between
>the bad Mario movie from 1993
>Playtime
>more Wallace and Gromit
>The Sweatbox
Let me know.

>>82499730
I envy your ability to do so much stuff.
>how bad is it?
Pretty awful. I went to bed at 8am yesterday (or today, I suppose). The stress of last week really did a number on me. With melatonin and Dr Pepper I should be able to fix it somewhat.
>was your current apartment the noisy one or was that the old one?
The new one is much quieter, except when there's a thunderstorm since I'm much higher up now. Very occasionally I'll hear my neighbours but I've never been woken up by a janny cart so it's a big improvement.

Most people are only nice when it serves their own interests. Give them an opening or a sense of unity for any reason that benefits them, no matter how disgustingly evil it is, and they'll show their true colors

Yeah, most games aren't gonna get it right so it's best for them to not try at all, or at least be very subtle about it, like the Dark Souls games did

They're very of their time, but I think that's probably a good thing. The world was better then. :(
>or at least be very subtle about it, like the Dark Souls games did
That's probably the best way to handle it. Just a bunch of flavour text so people can piece together the narrative in a way that's inherently more interesting than how you'd be able to write it. I'm surprised it isn't more common.

Fell asleep for about 20 minutes without realising it. I guess I needed the sleep. Movie night soon. We're watching The Sweatbox in ~10 minutes because that's the smallest one and I'm still uploading it. It's an interesting watch if you have a passing interest in the production of animated films.

No worries, there's always next time the good picks are on the backburner since a lot of the regulars are missing. Hopefully you can tidy up quick.
>did you see the newest mario movie? if so, what did you think of it?
I have not, but my sister watched it and didn't like it. Have you seen it?
>doesn't dr pepper have caffeine?
I need it for the early mornings.
>does hk have any exclusive dr pepper flavors
No, they don't sell it here so you have to pay out the ass for cans from an importer. The Korean one tastes the nicest since they use sugar instead of corn syrup that's used in Burgerland. I had some from Poland and those tasted pretty bad.
>isn't it scary?
Not scary so much as it is incredibly loud, and usually when I'm trying to sleep. Strong typhoons are worse because my whole room was swaying during them.

I don't think it's about specific genres but what scales and musical patterns tend to be used in them
>imo a game needs one crown jewel at least
True, I just personally tend to pay more attention to games with good music because I like music
>when it results in risky moves
Yup, it's really satisfying. I always get a kick out of stuff like that
>front-end
Ackshually I'm a fullstack dev
>whatcha using, react too?
Yes, it is the superior way to do frontend in 2025
What do you do? Let me guess, maintain a server written in Java with the Spring framework

No. Terrible fucking day, I lost $50 (of my $250 savings as a poorfag neet with no autismbux) betting on the wrong guy yesterday. I make pocket money fixing, selling and flipping electronics so I'm kinda bummed about it, that's 1-2 weeks of work.

I must be cursed when it comes to bets, I've NEVER won any sports or political bet, I've wasted about $400 so far on that crap. Doesn't matter what the odds are, god is gay

>i'm telling ya, saving up is some good shit
Yeah, I still need to save up my emergency money. I've got two months of expenses but I should probably go for a third just in case before I spend everything on stuff I don't need.

No, just the audio hallucinations you get when falling asleep like that.

>The frequency of these reminders keeps increasing every year...
At least one of the benefits of living now is that you can still access stuff from then pretty easily. You could live your whole life like it was still the 90s if you really wanted, media wise. So I guess that's a small comfort.
>When I was very into Dark Souls I used to do reruns just for the sake of understanding the lore better,
It's nice that they put so much effort into something few people would ever read.
I remember watching an Elden Ring lore video a while ago when I was very tired and thought I was watching some kind of historical thing, forgetting it was fictional.

You could try arbitrage betting. It takes a lot of effort to find setups but if you can, you'll make money regardless of the result.
>>
>>82504081
>arbitrage betting
Huh, never heard of that. Thank you, I'll look into it. Admittedly yesterday was not a researched or thought out move, just an impulsive one "there's no way this guy loses hah" *loses*. It's money I could afford to lose but my awful luck told me to never do it again yet I did.

>Betting arbitrage ("sure bets", sports arbitrage) is an example of arbitrage arising on betting markets due to either bookmakers' differing opinions on event outcomes, or errors. When conditions allow, by placing one bet per each outcome with different betting companies, the bettor can make a profit regardless of the outcome. Mathematically, arbitrage occurs when there are a set of odds, which represent all mutually exclusive outcomes that cover all state space possibilities (i.e. all outcomes) of an event, whose implied probabilities add up to less than 1.

>Arbitrage betting involves relatively large sums of money, given that 98% of arbitrage opportunities return less than 1.2%.[2] The practice is usually detected quickly by bookmakers, who typically hold an unfavorable view of it,[3] and in the past this could result in half of an arbitrage bet being canceled, or even the closure of the bettor's account.
Hmmm.
>>
>>82504331
It's something I did for a while. The best way to do it is to sign up for a bunch of bookmakers and arbitrage with the free bet sign-up offers. I managed to get about a grand that way, although the money you can make falls off a cliff after that.

>resonating with your mental state
hmm... there's some truth to that, but to me it's more so music drags me to specific mind states
for instance, future funk makes me happy and silly, while rock/metal drag me back to a misanthropic state, and synthwave makes me relax

>I just personally tend to pay more attention to games with good music because I like music
fair enough, my case is both music and story
games with good stories really hook me in

>fullstack
tell me someone who isn't, lol
other than me, that is :^)
>the superior way to do frontend in 2025
seems like it, what with everyone using it
i've been through hell and back with angular already but the little i used react for, it was quite nice
>maintain a server written in Java with the Spring framework
you've been doing your homework, huh?
makes me almost tempted to not say anything about what i currently do, just to make people guess it wrong, kek
but yes, java and spring is pretty nice, spring made me enjoy java again
i'm also well versed in core python and also know a bit about bash, which helps in automation
i'm originally from the infrastructure part of software, as in config management, patching, provisioning, but i also took an interest in CI/CD pipelines (devops in general) and observability
one thing i wanna see if i can do with my project is implement an hexagonal architecture, it sounds really really nice

>two months of expenses but I should probably go for a third
sounds a bit too little to me, anon
whenever i can, i'm gonna throw in at least a year of expenses in savings, and forget about it until an emergency shows up
there's this one account here that gives us some pretty nice compound interest over the money we leave there, so i'll go for that one
i also am gonna save up for a house or apartment for the next 5 or 6 years, then see if i can buy this one
if the owner doesn't wanna sell it, i'll check the neighborhood, i want to live close to work for as long as i can
>>
>>82504681
>sounds a bit too little to me, anon
I think 3 months is fine if I need the money immediately, although I can't really think of a situation where I'd need that besides a rental deposit. I have about 4 months of expenses stashed away in some index funds but it would take a couple of weeks to get the money out if I needed it.
I'm more worried by the fact that my pension is almost non-existent from only working a few part-time jobs.

that doesn't sound like a very good idea... Generally any tech that touches the brain i'm rather scared of that...
>i mean i have my life kinda solved at this point, just need to keep going in this path. i guess im just unhappy with my current job since im not doing much that i like. desu i can just find another one if things don't change so it's not a big deal.

yeah, but if you don't and need to sustain yourself for an extended period of time... well, good luck
me i'm mostly looking at getting fired or something like that, that'd be rough given how shit the job market is
but it's most likely never happening since government jobs here give you a lot of stability, even people who should be fired don't get fired, so...

>You could live your whole life like it was still the 90s if you really wanted, media wise
Not the same as living in it... those times are forever lost, 20 years of human history that will probably never be surpassed
>thought I was watching some kind of historical thing
I did the same and felt the same
It's crazy how deep the lore can get on those games, it's like a whole different dimension added to them and all of it is optional

>it's more so music drags me to specific mind states
That happens to me as well, except I can't really force it. It's more like a need for a specific type of music, what genre doesn't usually matter
>tell me someone who isn't, lol
I hate this...
>angular
Sorry to hear
I used that once, thought it was trash, never touched again
>you've been doing your homework, huh?
Yes but it's just that common, I did it too for a while
>spring made me enjoy java again
The only way to enjoy java is by not using it at all and writing Kotlin instead
>devops
I've considered looking for a devops job but it sounds so boring to me... What does the actual process look like?

When was that ever a thing?
Humans have always been violent animals
>wut other games?
Hell is Us, Cronos, Conscript and Enshrouded
I don't think you'd like the first 3 but Enshrouded is a pretty comfy survivalslop game with a really good building system, would recommend

>>82505602
>It's more like a need for a specific type of music
ah yeah i get that
to me it's more like a need for a specific kind of mood, and the music happens to fit the bill, but it's more or less the same idea

>I hate this...
kek'd

>thought it was trash, never touched again
it is trash, fuck angular
i only touched it cause it was my job as an intern back then
and i did something really sloppy with it too, probably never to be touched again

>it's just that common
well if it's common, it's good
>The only way to enjoy java is by not using it at all and writing Kotlin instead
maybe that'd be true but we have a lot of legacy shit here
there are some projects still using java 6 and weblogic as i mentioned before, i only work with java 8 but it's still pretty old, but there are already some projects on java 21
i never really tried kotlin but i bet it's better than what we got
problem is our whole infrastructure is already based on java so it'd be very very difficult to migrate it to something else

>What does the actual process look like?
devops is more of a culture thing focused on continuous delivery
aims to bring down the barrier between dev teams and operations teams, since they're always at odds with each other (devs want to change things, ops people don't want to change what already works)
so there are lots of practices to be used to help bring that down, continuous integration being one (small commits, easily integrated into the deployment branch and deployed to production, avoids merge hells and conflicts)
it's more interesting than one would think

>Aren't you basically already using it?
at my job? i fucking wish.
my project is still being specified so not here either yet
