i have $100,000 USD in savings... what now? i thought things would feel different once i hit this milestone, but everything feels exactly the same. do i have to hit 1m before it starts to feel different?

you need to suck my dick. that's the only thing that can fill the hole in your heart
>>

That's too much for savings, invest some of that shit or inflation will take you for a ride.

>what now?
Make more money because that ain't even enough for a house
$100k is like 5-years worth of income, way too little
>>
>>82701892
i'm not so sure about that...
>>82701894
it already is. sorry if that wasn't clear. i meant that the amount of money i have accrued ("saved") has reached 100k. it's in a mix of vanguard growth, vanguard 500, and a target retirement fund. weighted more towards the growth currently because it's still early on in my career

is there even any point of buying a house as a single individual? genuinely asking
>>
>>82701872
In 2025, a person would need on the order of $200 to $500 billion (USD) to effectively buy everything they could reasonably want for the rest of their life, with a huge safety margin for surprises and future innovations.
If I had to pick one number, I'd lean ~$300 billion as a plausible "buy-everything-you-reasonably-desire" threshold.

your own cave where you can do whatever you want and bring whoever you want
instead of being restricted to a single room, now you have the whole house hurray!

no one dangerous is coming into my apartment for me to have to worry about that
>>82701925
my apartment already has multiple rooms, and whenever something breaks i can just call maintenance to fix it and when i come home from work everything is magically better with no effort on my part
>>
>>82701940
OK I mean if the right to shoot people to death isn't appealing, then yeah maybe apartment life is right for you. Housing for yourself is a liability, not an investment.

>my apartment already has multiple rooms
Oh you have your own place already? Then keep at it, man, you're doing alright already
If you're looking for property, never buy apartments/condos unless you plan on renting it out
Always go for landed houses

it never feel different, money never gives meaning, it just changes the problems that you have.
