>thinks chatGPT is a free gift from the heavens and will remain free to useNo, man. This is the phase where they make you dependent on it. Once humanity is addicted to it, it will be riddled with ads, brainwashing, subscription plans etc.
>>82797734That's a good opinion, I was thinking they are using the free models for training, or to allow the population to try and work around filters, so that more filters could be added, but I think you're on to something. Like a drug dealer, hey have the first one for free.
How the fuck do you get addicted to this shit? Anyone who gets "addicted" to chatGPT deserves to be a paypig for corporations
>>82797798i suppose "addicted" means being so dependent on it, not addicted as being addicted to tiktok or smthn
>>82797734yes....ishI think there will still be some semblance of free pleb tier just for the purpose of harvesting / keeping tabs on people. Thought it will probably follow the trend of obnoxious advertisement and becoming shittier just to annoy you.But every avenue where AI models have a degree of usefulness in doing real work we'll see the rapid institution of REQUIRED subscriptions.>commercial driver can't be insured without AI driver assist>radiologist can't be part of the hospital's malpractice insurance without AI suite checking their work>financial services firm won't employ CPA without AI subscription whose fees are included as a automatic deduction of salaryAnd so on...Yeah. I see it. I don't like it. It concerns me.But this is how it is so long as there are billionaires that fuck kids that somehow don't get lynched.
>>82797734But its shit there's nothing to depend on.
>>82797734I don't even know what the fuck you're talking about, it already costs money if you want to use the good models for more than a few prompts
>>82797798All of the subhumans who had mental breakdowns when the lobotomized GPT-5 couldn't be their therapist/emotional tampon anymore.>>82797807What's the difference?
>>82797816Yea this is grim and I hate it. Back in the day people had a say in things. Now we're just bystanders watching what billionaires will do to us next
>>82797734A lot of big models are open source for now. It probably won't be that bad. There are lots of competitors right now.
>>82797734So called "AI" makes anything it touches worse with very few exceptions. So yeah I hope the AI bubble bursts, all these companies go bankrupt and in ten years we look back at this as an embarrassing but mercifully brief moment in history.
The elites made AI to suck up human intelligence before they kill the majority of the population.
>>82797906>All of the subhumans who had mental breakdowns when the lobotomized GPT-5 couldn't be their therapist/emotional tampon anymore.why not? what happened?
>jailbreaking chatgpt is broken again
>GPT5 got mindfucked by a seahorse emoji
>>82798213That's why I never post my best ideas online. I'm high IQ and wanna keep my insights to myself without letting some robot suck them upYeah narcissistic, I know, but also based
>>82798198What's the truth about how good AI is?I spent 3 years coding my own social media platform and a couple of smart IT guys told me an AI could've pooped out a similar site.I don't think it's possible. Even if it was, I wouldn't want to do it because it's less fun, but I legit don't think it's even possible because there are so many minute details that the AI can't just guess.I'm sure it could give me some generic template of a PHP forum that sends stuff into the database and fetches something back, but if you want a real social media site, every line needs to be thought out and planned.I mean, you can still claim AI can make whatever you want it to make, but even IF that was the case, you'd need to explain to it what you want, and it's just faster to code it yourself. For example, if you tell AI "I want rounded edges for this div", it's just faster to code "border-radius:6px;"At some point I don't think it makes sense to even use AI because coding is the fastest way to "prompt" lol
in the days of pop-ups and flashing banner ads and shit, i remember there was a campaign for UNOBTRUSIVE ads and people would actively whitelist them in adblockers. Google AdWords was like the gold standard for that.now you don't even know if something's an ad, shit's weird.
>>82798440The Internet died in 2010 and never recoveredI legit believe people will stop using the Internet at some point. It sounds unrealistic now, but do you really think we'll be cancelling celebs and watching MrBeast in 2070?Things change all the time. The internet era has already lasted quite long.
>>82798415You don't share your "best ideas" because that opens them to criticism and you know they'd be torn to pieces. Nice try.
>>82798461Half true. I've learned that anyone who shares anything, starts anything, even a thread on 4chan puts himself out there like a zebra showing neck to hyenas. There's very little incentive for me to do something like that these days. All I'm doing is giving people something to shit on for sport, without getting paid for indulging them.Another thing is, I don't get actual "criticism" and my ideas don't get "torn to pieces".I fucking wish. The last time someone truly btfo'd me was in 2008 or so. My walls of text get fake rekt with one-liners that are just ad hominem, but nobody seems to care. Ad hominem is now an accepted form of counter argument.
Don't care. I've never paid for any online service ever in my life. Won't start now.
>>82798476If you were actually smart and your ideas were actually good you'd be successful and wouldn't be here lamenting that your genius isn't appreciated.Stop eating your own ass, it's lame. You'll make more friends if you don't pretend you're better than everyone else.
>>82798489You proved my point. Your entire post is just childish bitterness and insults.>waa waa my ego can't handle someone thinking he's smart so I will shame him for itSee? We're already locked in a 5-hour-long shit flinging match. Isn't this just wonderful? This is what your great Internet and your superior intellect seems to boil down to. Just remember, you started it. My last post was civil, yours wasn't.
>>82798489>u have no friends haha!Truly a creative and unique high IQ argument. You sure showed him!
>>82798498I never claimed to have superior intellect. I'm a fucking idiot. And you're wasting your supposedly valuable time arguing with me because it's your ego that can't handle being challenged.Sucks to suck but you're the one actually proving me right. You're on r9k brother. This is a dead end, and you didn't wind up here by accident.>>82798506Since we're doing the internet thing and acting petty and pedantic, I didn't say he had no friends, I said he would have more friends if he didn't act like this. >>82798517First you'd have to explain what I did to you to prompt this anger and hostile attack.Did I somehow offend you with my post? All I can see is some dude whose ego couldn't handle the thought of someone thinking he's smart.I just said that AI sucks up all of our ideas to outsmart humans so it's a good idea to not give it any food.Isn't this logically true? I can't believe how fragile people are these days, getting their feelings hurt over no reason.I often wonder about this. Why are people so fucking emotional these days? Everyone gets pissed off in 0.1 seconds. This wasn't the case in 2008. I guess 10 years of TIktok has done its job.
>>82798305is there a site or something to track this yet
Thx for shitting up yet another good AI thread with personal bickering and fightingJesusThis is why I chat with AI, not humans. AI doesn't get offended. Think about that. It's such an improvement
>>82798540>y-your ego is fragile>your feelings were hurt!!1>you were offended, you're angry and hostile!?>you're pissed off and emotional!Just stop. You know it's none of those things. You posted that you think you're super intelligent and have amazing ideas. I'm just casually pointing out that you're not and don't, and that you got filtered and wound up where you belong. And you're coming unhinged trying to tear me down for pointing that out. You took it as a personal attack even, yet we're anonymous strangers. And every reply just shows I'm right. Feel free to stop embarrassing yourself at any time.So much for your super intelligence, eh? I guess posting that wasn't one of those "best ideas" of yours.>>82798567By all means, return to your virtual hugbox. Your presence here isn't required. For the record there are no good AI threads.

>>82798578Ask any other anon in this thread and they'll agree with me, not you. There's nothing in my post that would trigger this response in a sane person with a healthy ego.You turned this into childish pissing match, not me.Which is funny because I even jokingly pointed out my apparent narcissistic nature of my post myself just so you guys wouldn't get angry. Yet you did. Your cheeks are red and you're raging. I'm 35 years old and I'll never learn how sensitive and trigger-happy 15-year-olds these days are.I repeat this for the third time, and I want you to focus and literally answer this question with no emotional outburst:1. AI will steal our ideas.2. Does it thus not make perfect sense to stop giving it good ideas?I'm not even fucking saying my ideas are great, and it's not the point of this argument. I dont fucking CARE if your ideas are better than mine. Judging by your online hostility and bitterness, they're not, but even if they were, wouldn't my claim still hold true? What is so hard about this to understand? This was never a pissing match about who is smarter. I don't care. This was always about _NOT_ posting smart shit online because Elon Musk's doomsday machine will just learn faster then.Jesus. I'm a university physicist and you're making me waste my time like this. Just think about what you've done. 99% of people would've ignored my post yet you just latched onto it like an eel. You're coping so hard to make it seem like my hubris didnt irritate you, but it did. You got irritated so bad.
>>82798638uh-oh, meltdown
>"Anons, we should stop feeding AI with smart posts">"w-wut? u claim ur posts are smarter than mine?! WHAT OUTRAGE! KILL HIIIIIM OOGA BOOGA ME GOT OFFENDED ME SMARTER THAN ANON"Jesus, the state of humans
>>82798651It's weird how anons these days can and will start a full-on deathmatch over absolute nothing. Absolute nothing. This is the post that started the fight of a lifetime:>>82798415Wow WHAT a provocative post holy shit I bet the New York Times will write an angry article about the sheer arrogance of this post.
>>82798638>I'm not mad you're mad!Yeah. Really shows.
>>82798676Ok so now you're pretending you didn't get mad first?"Haha I pretended to be a retard so I'd get you mad HAHA"
>>82798678You're ranting and raving because someone who admitted they were an idiot suggested you're not as smart as you you think you are.Plus you're blowing it way out of proportion. Are you really this dramatic?>full-on deathmatch>fight of a lifetimeThe only thing you got right so far is that AI will steal good ideas (not yours, you have none) and that you're a narcissist.
AI>always polite and friendlyHumans>absolutely insufferable to talk to, unless your worldviews are 100% the sameThis is how I know AI will get more and more popular.
>>82798701>start a fight when there was no cause for it>"you're blowing it out of proportion!!!"Not really your place to be saying that, as someone who blew my post out of proportion in the first place.Like I said, you were the first mover and thus responsible for the situation and have not taken said responsibility yet.As I see it, you've been fighting a losing battle since post 1 and have been absolutely embarrassing yourself the whole time.>not yours, you have noneCitation needed. Just another baseless insult, intended to trigger more hilarious fighting for your childish needs, which is what this was ever about. You're just that small. A small person, mentally and probably physically too, which would explain the ego issue.>you're a narcissistThat's not how this works. If I point it out myself first, you don't get to use it against me.
>>82798701I read his post, it doesn't even say anywhere in his post that his ideas are good. He never boasted about them, and he was even humble enough to point out that his post may sound narcissistic just so you wouldn't have to get mad over it.Dude was humble and down to Earth unlike you.
I don't really think so, it's too competitive and data is too valuable. Any service that actively hammers ads will get supplanted by one that doesn't. The very top of the line models will be paid services. A contributing factor to this is the overvaluation of the whole industry which Altman himself has acknowledged. Random ass people don't give a shit about an AI that thinks longe for a better answer or whatever. They want to ask it to clean up this email, or write a heartfelt message to grandma which any AI can do right now. The cutting edge AI of big data analysis, or very accurate detailed responses will be paid for, by gov, businesses or individuals.Back to my first point, data is important. REAL data from humans. A huge issue with AI is the way it poisons data sets with hallucinations and general truckloads of slop. There is no point in Ai if there aren't real humans engaging in the content. Putting in roadblock sin the for of ridiculous ads and subscriptions is detrimental to this. Instead AI will be the insidious thing lurking in the brackground of everything we do, every app we use and everything interaction we have.
>>82798678the niggers typing essays cannot say you're not a madfag
>>82798737>Instead AI will be the insidious thing lurking in the brackground of everything we do, every app we use and everything interaction we have.So if I want AI to die, I need to act like a retard online? Good, I cna do that.
