pick up something else that's fun
make scrolling as inconvenient as possible by deleting your accounts/uninstalling apps you have issues with/blocking websites, you can bypass these measures but it will give you a chance to think twice before actually doing it
if you decide to browse the internet, try to 1) be aware of, and remember how shitty it feels 2) keep it to a specific time period (maybe only from 7pm to 8pm, or while commuting for example)
but really there's no magic tip imo, if the internet is shit enough you'll naturally stop using it as much

and when I do use the internet I seek out higher quality content now

I'd stick with reading. If you want to see the deleterious effects of the internet on our attention spans, just look at people's reaction to classic literature. These books were written for the common literate person, but now even college students are struggling with Charles Dickens and Jane Austen

They tried to be trendy and cool by using idioms of their era.
Austen's dialogue is essentially unreadable. Its closer to Shakespeare than to modern speech.
Try the first chapter of Pride and Prejudice (its not long). "Rich guys want wives" "Hoes will fight over a rich Chad" "When Stacy grows up and has Stacy 2.0, she will help set her daughter up with Rich Chads". Ta Da you now know the first chapter of P+P. Its not that good of a book nor does it bring much learning or wisdom; let the printed copies be pulped. Its trad black pill stuff from the manosphere hidden behind unreadable 200 year old speech patterns.
OTOH, there's nothing more disgusting than ultra Kosher reinterpretations of classics using Ebonic speech and actors but its going to be a challenge to read something from two centuries ago.
Consider that mass produced westerns and Tom Swift / Hardy Boys / Nancy Drew type stuff for the common man a century ago is quite readable today.
The main problem is most of the demographics we're allowing to immigrate are not exactly the type of races that would shoplift at a bookstore LOL.

There are entire classrooms of kids I can't find online but they're not dead, or they only go online once every six months or similar.
My entire chemistry class is gone. My entire senior year math class is gone. There's one guy from 12th grade english who shitposts on FB literally ten times a day, otherwise gone. I was on an extracurricular team my senior year, gone, all of them.
We have a FB group where they announce dead people and attempts to have a reunion, but essentially no one in my graduating class actively uses social media, maybe 5% or so at most.
Lots of zesty political propaganda and shitposting by apparent bots and NPCs on social media, though.
Dying orgs always go left, which repels the normies, which results in the org dying faster and going even further left... its a feedback loop.
Look how few humans there are on 4chan. There's more non-AI chicks in the pr0n threads than there are humans on the rest of the site. Lots of bot and LLM traffic. Fun to watch, but not take seriously.
